Installation
Preparation for use
Connecting the loud speakers
MA IN
1: Unwrap the speaker wires.
2: Place a speaker on either side of the main unit,
preferably at the same height, and with at least
150mm between each speaker and the main unit.
3: Connect the speaker wires to the terminals on the
rear of the unit (27).Take care to match the speaker
placed to the LEFT to the LEFT output on the rear of
the unit. Repeat for the RIGHT speaker.
4: When connecting ensure the RED wire connects to
the RED terminal and the BLACK wire to the BLACK
terminal.
Optimal Stereo Position
Remote control battery installation
1: Press the tab on the bottom left inwards and use
a fingernail to slide the compartment outwards to
reveal the internal battery.
2: Insert one CR2025 battery taking care that the
surface marked with a ‘+’ symbol is facing upwards.
3: Slide the battery compartment back inside the
remote control.
Notes on battery usage
• Do not insert battery into the remote control in the
wrong direction.
• Do not charge,heat,open or short-circuit the
battery. Do not throw battery into a fire.
• If the remote control does not function correctly or
if the operating range becomes reduced,replace
the battery with a new one.
• Improper replacement of batteries may result
in explosive hazard.It must be replaced only by
batteries with the same or equivalent type.

Getting started
1: Connect the mains plug to a UK wall outlet.
2: Extend the pig tail antenna as far as it can go.
NOTE:The quality of the radio reception will be
influenced by the positioning of the pigtail aerial.
3: Press the STANDBY button (3) to wake from standby.
Standby mode
1: Press the STANDBY button on the unit (3) or press
the STANDBY button on the remote to put the system
into standby mode.To resume normal operation press
either button again.
NOTE:This unit is designed to enter STANDBY
mode automatically after 20 MINUTES
(approximately) of inactivity. Press the STANDBY
button to wake the unit.
NOTE:When you power on the unit from standby
the last used mode will resume.
General operation
Volume function
1: Rotate the VOLUME control (8) clockwise or press the
VOL+ button on the remote control to increase the
volume output.
2: Rotate the VOLUME control (8) anti-clockwise or
press the VOL- button on the remote control to
decrease the volume output.
Mute function
1: Press the MUTE button (9 main unit) or on the remote
control to silence audio playback.
2: Press again to resume audio output once more.
Bass enhance function
1: Press the BASS button (10 main unit) or on the
remote control to enhance the bass output.
2: Press again to cancel the bass enhancement.
Clock
1: Press the CLOCK button on the remote to display the
current time on the display.
EQ function
1: Press the EQ button (11) on the main unit or remote
repeatedly to cycle through the EQ sound effects.
Select from:FLAT, JAZZ, ROCK, CLASSIC & POP.
Display brightness
1: Press the DIM button (18) on the main unit repeatedly
to cycle through the four brightness states.
Switching input modes
Follow the below instructions to switch between
TUNER, CD/USB,AUX & BLUETOOTH input modes.
Main unit
1: Press the TUNER button (4) repeatedly to cycle
between FM & MW modes.
2: Press the CD/USB button (5) to switch to CD mode.
Connect a USB flash drive to begin USB input mode.
3: Press the AUX button (6) to enter AUX input mode.
4: Press the BLUETOOTH button (7) to enter Bluetooth
mode.
Remote control
1: Press the SOURCE button repeatedly to cycle
between the input modes :FM, MW, CD, USB, AUX &
BT.
Radio operation
Selecting a band
1: Press the FM/MW button on the remote repeatedly to
cycle between the bands.
2: Alternatively you can press the TUNER button (4) on
the main unit repeatedly to cycle between the bands.
Tuning a station
1: Select the radio band you wish to use (See above).
2: Press and hold either (19) or (20) buttons
(main unit) or TUNE -/+ (remote) to begin scanning
up or down the frequency range.When a station is
located playback will begin automatically.
3: To fine tune the frequency press either (19) or
(20) buttons (main unit) or TUNE -/+ (remote) to
advance in 0.05 increments.

Tuning a station (cont)
4: You can perform a full auto scan function which scans
the entire frequency range and automatically stores
any located signal as a station preset (see Station
presets below).
Stereo / Mono modes
Should you experience background noise when
listening to a stereo broadcast, you can switch to
MONO mode to reduce the effect.
1: Press the ST/MO button (17) on the main unit to cycle
between STEREO and MONO modes.
Storing station presets
Follow the below steps to store a tuned station to one
of 30 preset locations to allow quick access.
1: Tune to a radio station
2: Press the MEM button (remote).You will see ‘P-XX’
(where XXis the location number) flash on the
display.
3: Use the CH-/+ buttons to select a location number.
4: Press the MEM button once more to store the tuned
station to the selected preset location.
Recalling station presets
1: Press either CH-/+ buttons repeatedly to cycle
through the preset location range 1-30.
2: When selected the preset station will begin playback
after a brief pause.
CD operation (CDA/MP3 CD)
Playing a disc
1: Switch to CD input mode (see page 6).
2: Press the EJECT button (23) on the main unit or on
the remote,when the disc drawer pops out insert a
disc (label side facing upwards),press the EJECT
button again to close.
3: When the door is closed“READING” will appear on
the display as the unit detects compatible audio
tracks.
3: Playback will begin automatically fromTrack 01.
4: To stop playback press the STOP button (21) on the
main unit or on the remote.
Playing a disc (cont)
5: To pause playback press the PLAY/PAUSE button
(22) main unit or on the remote during playback.To
resume playback press once more.
Skipping tracks CDA/MP3 CD/USB
1: To skip to the next track on a disc press (20) on the
main unit or on the remote control.
2: To skip to the previous track press (19) on the main
unit or on the remote control.
Skipping folders MP3 CD/USB only
1: To skip to the next folder containing MP3 files,press
the DIR button (15) main unit or on the remote.
2: Each press skips to the next folder and plays track 01
automatically.
3: Pressing the DIR button while in the last folder skips
back to folder 01 or plays any tracks not in folders.
NOTE:Tracks found in the root of the disc (not in
folders) play first before tracks in folders.
Fast searching tracks CDA/MP3 CD/USB
1: To fast forward a track during playback press an hold
(20) on the main unit or on the remote control.
2: To fast rewind a track during playback press an hold
(19) on the main unit or on the remote control.
Intro playback CDA/MP3 CD/USB
1: Press the INTRO button on the remote control to
begin playback of the first 10 seconds of each track
on the disc.
2: Press the INTRO button once more to cancel the
INTRO mode.
MP3 CD information
• Max 999 tracks and 99 folders can be recognised.
• Only MP3 files are compatible
• The disc must be finalised.Multi-session discs are
not compatible.
• During playback,discs damaged with dirt or
scratches may make a pop,clipping sound or cut
off.

Random playback CDA/MP3 CD/USB
Follow the below instructions to playback the contents
of a CD or MP3 CD in a random order.
1: Press the RANDOM button on the remote.
2: When playing a standard CD‘RAND’ will appear on
the display and play ALL tracks in a random order.
3: Press the RANDOM button again to cancel random
playback.
4: If playing an MP3 CD‘RAND’ will appear, but also ‘DIR’
to indicate only tracks found in the current directory
(folder) will be played back in a random order.
5: Press the RANDOM button again and the ‘DIR’ will
disappear from the display and the unit will play ALL
tracks on the disc in a random order.
6: Press the RANDOM button once more to cancel
random playback.
Repeat playback CDA/MP3 CD/USB
Follow the below instructions to repeat tracks on a CD.
1: Press the REPEAT button on the remote.
2: When playing a standard CD ‘REP 1’ will appear on
the display and repeat the current track only.
3: Press the REPEAT button once more and the display
changes to ‘REP ALL’ to indicate ALL tracks on the
disc will repeat.
4: Press the REPEAT button once more to cancel the
function.
Repeat playback CDA/MP3 CD/USB
Follow the below instructions to repeat tracks on an
MP3 CD.
1: Press the REPEAT button on the remote.
2: When playing a MP3 CD‘REP 1’ will appear on the
display and repeat the current track only.
Repeat playback CDA/MP3 CD/USB (cont)
3: Press the REPEAT button once more and the display
changes to ‘REP DIR’ to indicate ALL tracks in the
current directory (folder) will repeat.
3: Press the REPEAT button once more and the display
changes to ‘REP ALL’ to indicate ALL tracks on the
disc will repeat.
4: Press the REPEAT button once more to cancel the
function.
Programmed playback CDA/MP3 CD/USB
Follow the below steps to program and alternate play
list.
1: Stop playback of the loaded disc if required.
2: Press the PROG button on the remote control
3: When an MP3 disc is loaded the first option is
to select a folder. Press the DIR button (15) or on
the remote control to cycle through the available
directories (folders).
NOTE:This step is not required for a standard CD.
Any tracks in the root of the disc (eg no folder) are
included in folder 01.
4: Press the PROG button again to proceed to selecting
a track.Use either (20) or (19) on the main unit
or on the remote control to select a track number.
5: Press the PROG button once more to store the
programmed track and proceed to the next one.
6: Repeat steps 3-5(or 4-5 if std CD) until you have
programmed all tracks required.
7: Press the PLAY/PAUSE button (22) main unit or
on the remote to begin playback of the programmed
sequence.
8: Press the STOP button twice to cancel the
programmed sequence.

USB operation
Playing a track
Follow the steps below to load a USB flash drive and
play a track.
1: Insert a compatible USB flash drive into the USB
input socket (25) on the main unit.
2: Switch to USB input mode (see page 6).
3: The first track in folder 01 or the root of the USB drive
will begin playback automatically.
4: To stop playback press the STOP button (21) on the
main unit or on the remote.
5: To pause playback press the PLAY/PAUSE button
(22) main unit or on the remote during playback.To
resume playback press once more.
NOTE: All advanced playback functions explained
on pages 7-8.
MP3 information
• Do not remove the USB device during playback
• Max 999 tracks and 99 folders can be recognised.
• USB flash drive format: FAT 16, 32 only.
• USB reading speed may be effected by the number
of files on the device.
Recording to a USB device
Follow the below instructions to record from a disc,
aux input or radio.
Record from a CD / MP3 CD
1: Stop playback of the loaded disc if required.
2: Use either (20) or (19) on the main unit or on the
remote control to select a track.
NOTE:If recording from a MP3 CD you will need to
select the directory (folder) before selecting the
track.
2: Press the REC button (12) or on the remote control.
3: You will see ‘REC ONE’ appear on the display. Use
either (20) or (19) on the main unit or on the
remote control to select ‘REC ONE’ (to record only
one track), ‘REC ALL’ (to record all tracks) or ‘REC
DIR’ (MP3 CD only) to record all tracks in a directory
(folder).Press the REC button once more to proceed
to the next step.
Recording to a USB device (cont)
4: If you selected to record a single track the track
number will flash up momentarily and then
‘CHECKING’ will appear. If you selected to record
all, track 01 will appear. Shortly after checking for
available space on the USB device recording will
begin.
5: The unit will now display a percentage on the far
right of the display to indicate the progress.When the
counter reaches 100% ‘REC END’ will appear on the
display and the track will be playable from the USB
device (see USB operation,Playing a track).
NOTE:Should you wish to listen to the track as
you record it, begin playback then press the REC
button.
Record from an auxiliary audio source
See (Aux input operation) to connect an auxilliary audio
source.
1: Begin playback on the external device.
2: Press the REC button (12) or on the remote control.
3: You will see ‘CHECKING’ appear on the display while
the unit checks for available space on the USB device.
4: Recording will begin automatically with ‘REC’
appearing on the display.
5: To cancel recording press the STOP button.
Record from the radio
1: Begin playback of the radio station you wish to record.
2: Press the REC button (12) or on the remote control.
3: You will see ‘CHECKING’ appear on the display while
the unit checks for available space on the USB device.
4: Recording will begin automatically with ‘REC’
appearing on the display.
5: To cancel recording press the STOP button.

Encoding information
When ripping to a USB device a‘RECORD’directory (folder) is created in the root of the USB device.

Deleting files from a USB device
Follow the below instructions to delete a file from the
USB device.
1: Begin playback of the file you wish to delete (so you
know it’s the correct file if you wish to delete only
one file).
2: Press the DELETE button (13) main unit or on the
remote.Use either (20) or (19) on the main
unit or on the remote control to select ‘DEL ONE’
(to delete only one track), ‘DEL ALL’ (to delete all
tracks) or ‘DEL DIR’ (to delete all tracks in a directory
(folder)).
3: Press the DELETE button once more to select the
delete option selected.The file(s) will be deleted from
the USB device.
AUX input operation
Follow the steps below to connect an external audio
source for playback through the speakers.
NOTE:You will need a 3.5mm audio cable (not
supplied) to connect a device to the AUX input
socket.
1: Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable to the AUX
input socket (1) on top of the unit. Connect the other
end to an earphone or line-out socket on the audio
device.
2: Switch to AUX input mode (see page 6).
3: Press PLAY on the audio device.
3: Adjust the volume to your desired level.
NOTE:when connecting via the headphone output
the volume of the mini system is affected by the
volume control on the player. Ensure that the
player is set to about 70-80% to avoid distortion.

Bluetooth operation
Connecting a device
When using the Bluetooth connection,you can listen to
audio wirelessly from a Bluetooth audio device within
10 metres of the CMN150BT unit.
1: Switch to BLUETOOTH input mode (see page 6).
2: When in Bluetooth mode you will see ‘BT’ flashing on
the display to indicate the unit is in ‘PAIRING’ mode
(connection mode).If the unit is not in PAIRING mode
you can press the PAIR button on the remote control.
3: Enable Bluetooth on your audio device and search
for available bluetooth connections.Select the
CMN150BT from the list. If you are asked for a pass
code enter ‘0000’.
NOTE:If you turn off either device before pairing
is complete the process will need to be repeated
when powered ON again.
If you do not see‘CMN150BT’ press the PAIR
button to re-initiate pairing mode.
4: Once paired the ‘BT’ on the display will stop flashing
and an audible sound is heard.
NOTE:Each time you switch the CMN150BT on
and select BLUETOOTH mode the device will
automatically connect, unless you have un-paired
the device.
5: You can now begin playback from the audio device
and the output will playback through the CMN150BT.
6: If using a mobile phone as an audio source,when
receiving a phone call the audio playback stops while
you receive the call.When you hang up the audio is
restored,but you will need to press PLAY once more
on the device.
NOTE:the volume output is effected by the
volume level on the audio source EG:Phone or
laptop, so make sure that is set to about 70-80%
(not too loud to avoid distortion).
Controlling a connected device
Once connected you can either use the controls on the
audio device to begin playback, skip tracks etc.Or you
can use the control buttons on the unit/remote control.
1: The PLAY/PAUSE button (22) on the main unit or
remote when pressed will begin playback of the
selected track on the audio device.Press again to
pause playback.
2: To skip to the next track press (20) on the main unit
or on the remote control.
3: To skip to the previous track press (19) on the main
unit or on the remote control.
Setting the clock
Follow the below steps to program the clock.
1: Press and hold the CLOCK button on the remote
control.
2: You will see ‘24H’ or ‘12H’.Use either (20) or
(19) on the main unit or on the remote control to
select either one.Press the ENTER button (16) main
unit or on the remote control to select the option and
advance to the time setting.
3: When you see the time setting,use either (20)
or (19) on the main unit or on the remote control
to cycle through the HOUR digits.Press the ENTER
button to proceed to the MINUTE setting.
4: Use either (20) or (19) on the main unit or on the
remote control to cycle through the MINUTE digits
and press the ENTER button to complete the clock
setting.

Setting the timer
You can set a time for the unit to power on and also off.
Follow the below instruction.
1: The timer can be set in STANDBY or POWER ON mode.
2: Press and hold the TIMER button on the remote
control.You will see ‘TIME ON’ appear on the display
momentarily before being replaced with a time
setting option.
3: When you see the time setting,use either (20)
or (19) on the main unit or on the remote control
to cycle through the HOUR digits.Press the TIMER
button to proceed to the MINUTE setting.
4: Use either (20) or (19) on the main unit or on the
remote control to cycle through the MINUTE digits
and press the TIMER button to complete the TIMER
ON setting.
5: The next step is to select the audio input to play when
powered ON. Use either (20) or (19) on the main
unit or on the remote control to cycle through the
options of:MW, FM , CD or USB (ensure a USB device
is connected).
6: Press the TIMER button to advance to the VOLUME
setting.Use the VOL-/+ buttons on the remote control
to set the volume level. Press the TIMER button to
advance to the TIMER OFF setting.
7: Use either (20) or (19) on the main unit or on the
remote control to cycle through the MINUTE digits
and press the TIMER button to complete the TIMER
settings.
8:You will now see a small CLOCK icon on the display to
indicate the timer function is enabled.
9:To disable the timer press the TIMER button.You
will see ‘TIME OFF’ appear on the display and the
CLOCK icon will disappear.You can enable the TIMER
function in the same way.
Setting the sleep timer
Follow the below steps to set a timer so that the unit
switches OFF after a certain period of time.
1: Press the SLEEP button on the remote control.
2: You will see ‘SLP 120’ on the display with a ‘SLEEP’
icon flashing.
3: Press the SLEEP button repeatedly to cycle through
the timer options 120, 110, 100, 90, 80, 70, 60, 50, 40,
30, 20, 10 & OFF.
4: When you locate the timer option you wish to set,
leave all buttons unpressed for a second or more.The
timer has now been set.
5: The SLEEP icon on the display is visible and not
flashing.To cancel the sleep timer, press the SLEEP
button until you get to SLP OFF’.After a brief pause
the SLEEP icon disappears and the timer is now
disabled.

After using your radio
• Set to Standby.
• Switch the unit off at the mains and unplug it if you are
leaving it unattended for a long period (holidays etc).
• Avoid leaving batteries fitted if you leave the radio
unattended for long periods.They may leak and

Care and cleaning
• All care and cleaning operations should be carried out
with the unit unplugged from the mains power.
• Occasionally wipe the cabinet with a lint free duster.
Never clean the unit with liquids or solvents.
Disc handling information
• Do not touch the playback side of the disc.
• Do not attach paper or tape to disc.
• Fingerprints and dust on the disc cause picture and
sound deterioration. Wipe the disc from the centre
outwards with a soft cloth. Always keep the disc
clean.
• If you cannot wipe off the dust with a soft cloth,wipe
the disc lightly with a slightly moistened soft cloth and
finish with a dry cloth.
• Do not use any type of solvent such as thinner,
benzene,commercially available cleaners or
antistatic spray for vinyl. It may damage the disc.
• Do not store discs in a place subject to direct sunlight
or near heat source.
• Do not store discs in a place subject to moisture and
dust such as a bathroom or near a humidifier.
• Store discs vertically in a case,stacking or placing
object on discs outside or their case may cause
warping.
