IMPORTANT SAFEGUAR S
When using electrical a liances, basic safety recautions should
always be followed including the following:
1. Im ortant: Read all instructions carefully before first use.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs
3. Use only on a level, dry, and heat-resistant surface.
4. To rotect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, lug
or the a liance in water or any other liquid.

10. Do not let cord touch hot surfaces or hang over the edge of a
counter or table.
11. Do not lace on or near a hot burner or in a heated oven.
12. Do not use the a liance for other than its intended use.
13. Extreme caution must be used when moving the a liance
containing hot oils or other liquids.
14. Do not touch, cover or obstruct the steam valve on the to of
the rice cooker as it is extremely hot and may cause scalding.
15. Use only with a 120V AC ower outlet.
16. Always un lug from the base of the wall outlet. Never ull on
the cord.

17. The rice cooker should be o erated on a se arate electrical
circuit from other o erating a liances. If the electric circuit is
overloaded with other a liances, this a liance may not o erate
ro erly.
18. Always make sure the outside of the inner cooking ot is dry
rior to use. If cooking ot is returned to cooker when wet, it
may damage or cause the roduct to malfunction.
19. Use extreme caution when o ening the lid during or after
cooking. Hot steam will esca e and could cause burns.
20. To revent damage or deformation, do not use the inner ot
on a stoveto or burner.
21. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove lug
from wall outlet.
22. Do not use a liance for anything other than intended use.
23. To reduce the risk of electric shock, cook only in removable
container.

SHORT COR INSTRUCTIONS
SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
1. A short ower-su ly cord is rovided to reduce risk resulting
from becoming entangled in or tri ing over a longer cord.
2. Longer extension cords are available and may be used if care is
exercised in their use.
3. If a longer extension cord is used:
a. The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at
least as great as the electrical rating of the a liance.
b. The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not dra e
over the counter to or tableto where it can be ulled by
children or tri ed over unintentionally.

GROUN ING INSTRUCTIONS
Grounding Instructions
This a liance must be grounded while in use to rotect the
o erator from electrical shock. The a liance is equi ed with a
3-conductor cord and a 3- rong grounding ty e lug to fit the
ro er grounding-ty e rece tacle. The a liance has a lug that
looks like sketch A. An ada ter, sketch B, should be used for
connecting sketch-A lug lugs to two- lugs to two- rong
rece tacles. The grounding tab, which extends from the ada ter,
must be connected to a ermanent ground such as a ro erly
grounded outlet box as shown in sketch C using a metal screw.

RICE COOKING PROCEDURE
1. Measure desired amount of rice on a level surface using
the large 900 ml measuring cu rovided. One cu of
raw rice will yield a roximately two cu s of cooked rice.
2. In a se arate container, rinse rice with warm water to
remove excess bran and starch. This will rotect the inner
ot, revent water from s uttering, and make cleaning u
easier.
3. Put rinsed rice into the cooking ot and level out with rice
addle.
4. Add a ro riate amount of water using the large 900 ml
measuring cu . Refer to the Rice Water Measuring Guide
on age 6 for the correct ro ortions of water and rice.
The ratio of rice to water is 1:1 ¼. NEVER add water
higher than the maximum water line.
5. Stir water and rice together with rice addle to ensure all
rice is evenly coated with water.
6. Set the unit on a stable surface, making sure there is no
water or debris on the outside surface of the inner
cooking ot. Place the inner cooking ot into the cooker.
Make sure the ot has direct contact with the heating
late. If necessary shift left and right until ot is secure.
7. Close the lid. If the lid is not closed com letely, the rice
will not cook ro erly.
8. Plug AC cord into ro er wall outlet. o not lug cord
in until ready to cook. The cooker will bee and the
COOK light will flash.
9. Press the MODE button. The COOK light will turn on
indicating the rice is starting to cook. When the cooking
is finished, you will hear 5 bee s and the indicator light
will automatically switch from COOK to WARM. At full
ca acity, a roximate cooking time is 35 minutes.

10. After cooking be sure to kee the lid closed for 10-15
minutes while the unit is on WARM mode. This is an
im ortant ste to ensure that your rice is fluffy and
evenly cooked. The kee warm mode will kee rice at a
serving tem erature until the unit is turned off.
Maximum warming time is 8 hours.
11. If you have finished cooking and do not want to use the
WARM mode, ress the ON/OFF button and you can
safely un lug the AC cord.
CAUTION
•Make sure the rice cooker is lugged into a ro er wall outlet
before using.
•Kee cooker away from direct sources of heat or sunlight to
revent ossible damage. Do not ex ose to water or high
humidity.
•Do not cover or obstruct the steam vent. Do not touch hot
steam from the steam vent while the cooker is in use.
•Always kee the rice cooker un lugged when not in use.
•To avoid damage to the cooker, do not use the inner cooking
ot from any other brand or model of rice cooker. (This ty e
of damage is not covered under the warranty).
•Always kee the outside and bottom of the inner ot
com letely dry before lacing into the cooker, as a wet ot
might cause a cracking noise and damage to the unit.
•O NOT place the rice cooker on or near a heated gas
range, oven or any heated object.
•O NOT use any damaged power cord.
•Place the rice cooker in a well-ventilated area on a heat-
proof surface while in use.

In the instructions below, cups do not refer to standard U.S.
measurements. The following quantities adhere to rice
industry standards.

•The chart below refers to the large (900 ml) measuring cu to
measure uncooked rice and water. 1 large (900 ml) cu is equal to 5
small (180 ml) cu s.
•When adding water, you may use the measuring cu s rovided or
you may refer to the water lines on the inside of the inner cooking
ot (see chart below).
•The ratio of rice to water is 1:1 ¼.
•The Cooked Cu s column refers to the small (180 ml) cu .
•Maximum ca acity yields 60 cu s of cooked rice.
•If the measuring cu s rovided are lost or damaged, lease contact
our customer service de artment at 1-800-276-6286 for a
re lacement.
•For brown rice see age 9.

HELPFUL HINTS
Cooking Perfect Rice:
•For faster cooking time and softer rice, soak rice in warm
water for 30 minutes rior to cooking.
•After adding rice and water to the inner cooking ot,
remember to stir well so rice is coated evenly with water.
•After COOK mode switches to WARM mode, allow rice to
warm for 10-15 minutes. This allows excess moisture to
eva orate.
•Stir cooked rice lightly with a s oon before serving and
excess water will steam off.
Preventing Burning or Sticking:
•Rinse the rice with warm water to remove excess bran and
starch. This will hel reduce rice browning and sticking to
the bottom of your ot after cooking.
•Some varieties of rice may stick to the inner ot. If you have
ex erienced any sticking on the inner ot, try adding a light
coating of vegetable or olive oil to the bottom of the inner ot
before cooking.
Cooking Brown Rice:
•Soak brown rice for one hour and a half before cooking.
•When cooking brown rice, our an additional ¼ cu of water
into the inner ot for each cu of rice being cooked.
•At maximum ca acity, cooking time lasts about one hour.
•After COOK mode switches to WARM mode, let rice
continue to warm for 20 minutes.
•Stir to release excess moisture from cooked rice.

HOW TO CLEAN
CAUTION: Always unplug the rice cooker and make sure it
has completely cooled before cleaning.
1. Remove the inner cooking ot. Wash it in warm, soa y water
using a soft s onge or dishcloth. o not use any abrasive
cleaners for cleaning. Rinse and dry thoroughly before the
next use.
NOTE:
•Never insert the inner pot into the unit while there is
water or debris on the outside surface. Always make
sure the inner pot is clean and dry before using.
•Kee the cooking ot extremely clean es ecially if salt or
salty ingredients have been used. Salt is very corrosive
and will damage the non-stick lining.
•The inside of inner ot may discolor slightly after an
extended eriod of use. This is normal and does not ose
a health risk or affect the erformance of the unit.
2. Clean other surfaces with a dam cloth.
3. Make sure the heating late is clean and free of food or other
articles that could interfere with the ro er functioning of the
rice cooker. Remove the residue by thoroughly wi ing down
the heating late. Be sure to dry the heating late before
using again to ensure good contact with the cooking an.
4. Do not immerse the rice cooker and the ower cord in water
or any liquid.
CAUTION: Never clean the cooker when it is still hot.

AROMA FANCY RICE MIX
Ingredients:
•2 large (900mL) cu s white rice (long grain)
•½ large (900ml) cu sweet rice
•5 tbs black rice
Add 3 ¾ large (900mL) cu s of water and turn the unit to
COOK mode. Yields a roximately 30 cu s of cooked rice.

Aroma Housewares Company warrants this product free from defects in
material and workmanship for one year from the provable date of
purchase in the continental United States.
Within this warranty period, Aroma Housewares Company will repair or
replace, at its option, defective parts at no charge, provided that the
product is returned, freight prepaid with proof of purchase and U.S.
20.00 for shipping and handling charges to Aroma Housewares
Company. Please call the toll free number below for a return
authorization number. Allow 2-4 weeks for return shipping.
This warranty does not cover improper installation, misuse, abuse or
neglect on part of the owner. Warranty is also invalid in any case that the
product is taken apart or serviced by an unauthorized service station.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights that may vary from state to
state and does not cover areas outside the continental United
States.
