Introduction
The General Purpose IO Box GPB-1 is a break-out box that works with
ALEXA Mini and AMIRA, allowing users to build custom button interfaces or
electronic controls. The box provides protected input channels that act like
user buttons on the camera and can be configured flexibl . Possible
functions range from record start/stop and ND filter changes to emulating the
button interface on the ALEXA Mini camera.

How to Use his Manual
Connectors are written in all capital letters, for example, EXT.
Buttons are written in all capital letters, for example, MENU soft button.
Menus and screens are written in italic letters, for example Home screen.
The appendix at the back of the manual contains useful reference material
including spare parts and additional accessories, connector pin-out diagrams
and dimensional drawings.
Scope of Delivery
On deliver , please check if the package and its contents are intact. Never
accept a damaged/incomplete deliver . A complete deliver includes:

Quick Start Guide
This quick start guide walks ou through setting up the GPB-1.
Connecting to ARRI AMIRA or ALEXA Mini Cameras
Connect the GBP-1 to the camera using the attached cable
“K2.0007736 Cable ALEXA Mini/AMIRA EXT to GPB-1”.
The second socket provides connection to other accessor using the EXT
connection.
Powering up
The GPB-1 is powered from the camera’s EXT socket. No dedicated power
switch is applied.
Connect Switches and Indicators to the GPB-1
The GPB-1 provides 14 ground-isolated inputs and two ground-isolated
output switches as well as a built-in 5 volts isolated power suppl for eas
wiring.
The I/Os are available on a standard 37-pin Sub-D female connector. The
pin-function is printed on the GPB-1 housing.

Momentar switches connected to IN1..IN3,

Note: Do not appl more than 5.5volts to the input terminals!
The output switches are able to carr loads up to 0.2 amps @ 60 volts.
Pins 17,18 5V-ISO and pins 36,37 GND-ISO are each connected internall .
Setting-up the Functions on the Camera
Select the function GPIO user buttons from the camera menu and activate
the appropriate function.
The output functions OUT1 and OUT2 are dedicated to “CAMERA ON” and
“REC ON” signalization.
Please also refer to the latest AMIRA / ALEXA Mini User Manual for a more
detailed description of the user buttons functions.
