Afullfiberspliceprocedureincluding:thefiberendfacepreparation,fibersplicing,tension
test,heatingandcoolingofshrinktube.Thischapterwillintroducedetailsofthespecific
processofthefibersplice.
Pressandholdthepowerbuttonuntilthepowerindicatorlight,then,LCDalsoentersthe
self-testscreen.
Preparetwoopticalfibers,asshowninFigure3.2,inwhichanopticalfiberissetintotheheat
shrinktube.

pingblock.Togetherwithclosethelargeplate,andpushthecutterbladeslidertotheotherend
tocutoffthefiber.

Openthewindproofcoverandthetwosidefiberplatens,then,putthepreparedfiberinto
V-groovethroughthelocatingslot.Makesurethatthefiberendfaceshouldbelocated
betweentheV-grooveedgeandtwoelectrodes.
AsShowninFigure3.5
Pleaseoperatecarefullyanddonʼtletthefiberendfacetouchanyotherobject.Thenclose
thelargeplatentofixopticalfiber,whichshouldbeplacedhorizontallyintheV-groove,
withoutupturnedphenomenon.Ifclampingfailed,youcanliftfibercarefullyandrepeatthe
operationaboveuntilthefiberclampingisqualified.
Similarly,prepareandclamptheotheropticalfiber.
Then,closethewindproofandcontinuetoobservetheamplifiedfiberfromthedisplay.Ifthefiberend
faceisobviouslyuneven,tiltordamaged,youneedtoremovethefibertocutagain.

3.5.Heat-shrinkable
Theopticalfiberfusionpointisreallyfragileandeasilybroken,so,youneedprotectionbyusing
heatshrinkable.Openthewindproofcover,largeplatenandheatercover.Gentlyremovefiber,and
donʼtbendfibergreatlytoavoidthefusionpointbroken.

Press"SET"tostartthesplicingprocedure.Themachinedrivesthemotor,whichwillpromo-
tebothsidesoffiberstothemiddleofthescreen,judgingthefiberendfacewhethermeet
therequirements.Ifqualified,turntothenextprocess,otherwiseshowatipofbadendface
andstop.
Afterjudgment,thealignmentmotorwilladjustfiberPositiontomakebothsidesoffibers

heatshrinkabletubinginthemiddleoftheheatingfurnace.Theheaterbeginsheatingas

3.6.Cooling
Theheatshrinkabletubingafterheatingisatahigttemperature,andneedscooling.Hangthe
coolingtrayonthecarryinghandle.So,afterheating,pulloutthefiberfromtheheating
furnacetothecoolingtraybyhands.About1minutelater,itcoolstotheordinary
temperature.
ThemachineadoptsaMETRO-stylemenu,whoseinterfaceissimple,beautifuland
convenientforoperation.Theoperationinterfacehas8icons,andeachiconcorresponds
