b. When the battery is low, the pump/LED lights
will shut down automatically to protect the
battery. The indicator light will turn o until
the battery is recharged.
5. PERFORMANCE OF THE P MP
The per ormance o the pump depends on the
orientation o the solar panel towards the sun
and the sunlight strength. In order to achieve
max per ormance, please make sure the panel is
acing in the direction o the sun. A solar panel
positioned in the shade or in poor weather will
not maximize the charge. This models pump
per ormance will depend on the battery power
level. The pump will not work i battery power is
too low.
6. P MP MAINTENANCE
I you ind the pump starts losing power or stops
working, please clean the pump ilter and
impeller with clean water.
7. BATTERY MAINTENANCE
I properly maintained this solar pump has been
designed to run or many years. The Lead-acid
battery does have a limited li e span and might
need to be replaced a ter 18-24 months o use. I
the battery appears less e icient, please try to
boost charge it. To do this, leave the system o
or 2 to 3 sunny days to allow the battery to ully
charge. It is recommended to do this occasionally
to maximize battery li e time.
To replace old batteries, unscrew the battery box
cover and replace the batteries.
8. TRO BLE SHOOTING
•Check to see i the solar panel, pump and
led light are connected properly
•Check to see i the solar panel is correctly
positioned acing the sun. Please ensure
the solar panel is not in the shade or
obstructed by trees, shrubs or a building
(see step 2).
•Check i battery indicator light is on. I
not, this indicates that the battery power
is low. Switch o the pump and leave the
solar panel charging under direct sunlight
or 1 or 2 days.
•Check water level and make sure the
pump is ully submerged in water
•Check to see i the pump ilter/impeller is
blocked by debris
•Check to see i the ountain tubing is
blocked by kinks and obstructions
•Check the pump. It may be “air locked”.
Turn the pump on/o switch several
times to clear any air that may have been
trapped.
9. WINTER PROTECTION
The solar pump is designed mainly or use during
summer hours, but it will also work in spring and
all as long as the sunlight conditions are good
enough in your region. Indoor storage is
recommended during winter months. Normal
operating temperature is between 50 and 113 °F.
The battery can be recharged at temperatures
between 32 and 113 °F
BATTERY DISPOSAL: Never dispose o batteries in
the garbage. Disposal o batteries in the garbage
is unlaw ul under state and ederal
environmental laws and regulations. Always take
used batteries to your local battery-recycling
center.
