OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENT
ADJUSTMENT OF BALANCE IN ZEROS
1. Verify that the scale is situated on a rm and steady surface. Go
up and down on to the scale several times so that all parts of it are
levelled and aligned.
2. Without any weight on the scale, set both counterweights in their
corresponding zeros (gure 4). The pointer of the scale must move
freely up and down, without touching the upper or the lower part
of the limitative rectangle.
3. If the pointer does not move the same distance up and down wit
respect to the centre of the limitative rectangle, move the mobile
counterweight of the graduated rule (gure 4).

GUIDE TO RESOLVE PROBLEMS
The exactness of these scales when they are calibrated in out factory
is + / - 100 grams. This means that between two scales you may nd
deviations of 200 g. In spite of this, they would be in their tolerances.
In order to obtain a more exact weight, checking rst the scale is on
a steady surface, go up on to the centre of the plate. If the error still
seems excessive, revise the following:
1. BALANCE OF THE GRADUATED RULE IN ZEROS
CAUSE SOLUTION
The pointer of the graduated rule
does not stop in the centre of the
limitative rectangle when both
counterweights are in zero.
Check that both counterweights are
well adjusted into their zero mortises. If
necessary, adjust mobile counterweights
too. (gure 4).
2. TILTABLE ARM DOES NOT MOVE FREELY
CAUSE SOLUTION
The pointer touches the limitative
rectangle in some point of its travel
(gure 4).
If this is the case, align the graduated
rule again.
3. THE PLATE SWAYS TOO MUCH OR TOUCHES THE BASE IN A
CORNER
CAUSE SOLUTION
When leaning your thumbs on two
opposite corners of the plate, pressing
alternatively with each nger, you
notice the plate wobbles.
Raise the plate several times and let
it fall until it is totally settled.
Go up and down on the plate several
times so that all parts of it are
properly settled. (This solution is
more advisable so that all parts that
compose the scale do not suffer any
damages)

4. THE TILTABLE ARM DOES NOT MOVE AT ALL
CAUSE SOLUTION
Counterweights are situated in a
higher weight than this of the person
on the scale.
Put counterweights in a lower weight.
The transmission rod is loose. Hook the transmission rod in the lever
extension (gure 2).
Transmission rod is connected in a
wrong way. Hook transmission rod properly
(gure 2).
Graduated rule is in blockage position
(upwards) Turn down the blockage of the
graduated rule.
5. LA BÁSCULA ESTÁ DESCALIBRADA
CAUSE SOLUTION
