1. Destination of device
T e ARB-0612 converter converts t e USB signal into a serial communication
standard RS232/RS422/RS485,RS485-4W/TTL-3.3,TTL-5V. T e device is powered
directly from t e USB port. T e converter supports two RS485 standards (2-wire and
4-wire), can act as HUB USB to 2xRS485 2-wire.
Works wit 32 and 64 bit operating systems. Remember to use t e appropriate
drivers. T e device is intended for t e USB 2.0 standard. W en connected to t e 3.0
standard, t e converter works as if it was connected to t e standard 2.0. It is possible
to c oose one of four serial transmission standards, i.e. RS232, RS422, RS485 or
TTL. T e converter provides 1500V, 2500V, 3000V or 5000V isolation between t e
USB port and t e ot er serial ports. In addition, t e RS422 and RS485 port as
overvoltage protection. T e operating system creates a virtual COM serial port t at
can be used by applications as an ordinary COM port. T e user as t e option of
assigning a different COM port number t an t e one t at automatically assigned t e
system. All parameters of t e COM port (for example: baudrate, parity c eck), are
determined by t e application using t e converter ARB-0612.
Application:
–Protecting your PC or laptop from overvoltages and from damage t at may
occur w en using serial communications.
–Creating or adding an additional serial port from 1 to 256.
–T e RS232 port is equipped wit all transmission and reception lines, w ic
allows for safe programming of controllers and ot er devices requiring serial
communication and using additional RS232 port signals.
–T e ARB-0612 converter as an internal reset signal, t us it can be used for
permanent operation in applications t at ave t e option of automatically
rebuilding t e serial port.
