Your physician has determined that wearing the Aspen Vista CTO4 will help
your condition. These instructions identify the steps you need to take and what
you need to be aware of in order to properly apply and care for your brace at
home. Adhering to these steps and following your physician’s instructions will
help ensure safe and eective care.

With the head in neutral alignment, log roll the patient to position the
posterior strut and collar back panel. The loop straps should be between
the patient’s ear and the trapezius.
Position the sides of the collar up and over the trapezius muscles. It is OK
if the chin piece is not touching the chin.
Brace Application
The various components of your brace may have been modified to create a
customized fit designed to meet your specific needs. To ensure optimal results,
do not alter the brace. Consult your clinician or your fitting professional if you
have any questions or concerns about the placement of the brace or proper fit.
The following instructions will aid you in applying your brace in the correct position.

Pad Washing
Hand wash the pads with mild soap and warm water. Do not machine wash
or use bleach. Rinse thoroughly. The plastic shell may be wiped with mild
soap and water. Rinse and towel dry before re-attaching pads.
Pad Drying
Squeeze out excess water by pressing pads with a towel. Allow to
completely air dry by laying on a towel. Do not use heat to dry. Use
replacement pads during drying time.
Washing Instructions - Pad Removal
To remove the pads, simply peel the pads away from the hook dots that
attach them to the plastic.
For some of the pads, you must first unthread the straps on each side.
To do this, push the straps through the slits in the pad and then through
the slots in the outer edge of the plastic. This applies to the collar and
lumbar region.

To replace the back pad, begin by attaching the green side of the pad
to the hook dots on the back panel. Once the padding is aligned with
the plastic, the straps will need to be re-threaded through the padding
and plastic slots.
Pad Replacement
All pads are intended to have the green side facing the plastic and the
white side facing the patient. To reattach the pads to the brace, properly
align the green side of the pads with the corresponding hook dots.
For the upper pad on the collar, ensure that the top piece covers the front
and rear edges of the plastic components.
