You*will*need*the*following*parts*for*the*first*step:*

Please*use*the*azimuth*encoder*disk*from*the*bag*containing*the*azimuth*encoder*parts*
and*insert*it*into*the*azimuth*hollow*shaft:*

Now*push*it*in:*

Now*use*the*supplied*Allen*key*to*tighten*the*encoder*disks*in*place*–*do*not*over-
tighten*them:*

Now*take*the*azimuth*encoder*reader*(a*short*one):*

Remove*the*protective*film*from*the*bottom*of*the*reader*housing:*

Clean*the*surface*of*the*mount*with*an*alcohol*wipe,*dry*it*and*put*install*the*reader*
pushing*it*against*the*tightening*clamp:*
*
The*gap*between*the*reader*sensor*and*the*magnetic*ring*should*be*between*0.4*and*
0.8mm:*

The*installation*is*now*complete:*
*
Now*connect*the*encoder*cable*-*it*is*best*to*fix*the*encoder*cable*with*cable*ties*
supplied*to*avoid*putting*any*force*on*the*encoder*readers*during*operating*the*mount*
with*a*DSC.*
The*installation*is*now*complete.*Set*the*encoder*steps*in*your*
DSC*to*311296*steps*for*both*the*altitude*encoder*and*the*
azimuth*encoder.*
