3)Personalsafety

useapowertoolwhileyouaretiredorundertheinfluenceofdrugs,alcoholormedication.A
momentofinattentionwhileoperatingpowertoolsmayresultinseriouspersonalinjury.
b)Usepersonalprotectiveequipment.Alwaysweareyeprotection.Protectiveequipmentsuchasdust
mask,non‐skidsafetyshoes,hardhat,orhearingprotectionusedforappropriateconditionswillreduce
personalinjuries.

c)Preventunintentionalstarting.Ensuretheswitchisintheoff‐positionbeforeconnectingtopower
sourceand/orbatterypack,pickinguporcarryingthetool.Carryingpowertoolswithyourfingeron
theswitchorenergizingpowertoolsthathavetheswitchoninvitesaccidents.
d)Removeanyadjustingkeyorwrenchbeforeturningthepowertoolon.Awrenchorakeyleft
attachedtoarotatingpartofthepowertoolmayresultinpersonalinjury.

4)Powertooluseandcare
a)Donotforcethepowertool.Usethecorrectpowertoolforyourapplication.Thecorrectpowertool
willdothejobbetterandsaferattherateforwhichitwasdesigned.
b)Donotusethepowertooliftheswitchdoesnotturnitonandoff.Anypowertoolthatcannotbe
controlledwiththeswitchisdangerousandmustberepaired.
c)Disconnecttheplugfromthepowersourceand/orthebatterypackfromthepowertoolbeforemaking
anyadjustments,changingaccessories,orstoringpowertools.Suchpreventivesafetymeasuresreducethe
riskofstartingthepowertoolaccidentally.
d)Storeidlepowertoolsoutofthereachofchildrenanddonotallowpersonsunfamiliarwiththe
powertoolortheseinstructionstooperatethepowertool.Powertoolsaredangerousinthehandsof
untrainedusers.
e)Maintainpowertools.Checkformisalignmentorbindingofmovingparts,breakageofpartsandany

a)Haveyourpowertoolservicedbyaqualifiedrepairpersonusingonlyidenticalreplacementparts.

a)Thispowertoolisintendedtofunctionasagrinder.Readallsafetywarnings,instructions,illustrations
andspecificationsprovidedwiththispowertool.Failuretofollowallinstructionslistedbelowmayresult
inelectricshock,fireand/orseriousinjury.
b)Operationssuchassanding,wirebrushing,polishingorcutting‐offarenotrecommendedtobe
performedwiththispowertool.Operationsforwhichthepowertoolwasnotdesignedmaycreatea
hazardandcausepersonalinjury.
c)Donotuseaccessorieswhicharenotspecificallydesignedandrecommendedbythetoolmanufacturer.
Justbecausetheaccessorycanbeattachedtoyourpowertool,itdoesnotassuresafeoperation.
d)Theratedspeedoftheaccessorymustbeatleastequaltothemaximumspeedmarkedonthepower
tool.AccessoriesrunningfasterthantheirRATEDSPEEDcanbreakandflyapart.
e)Theoutsidediameterandthethicknessofyouraccessorymustbewithinthecapacityratingofyour
powertool.Incorrectlysizedaccessoriescannotbeadequatelyguardedorcontrolled.
f)Thearborsizeofwheels,flanges,backingpadsoranyotheraccessorymustproperlyfitthespindleof
thepowertool.Accessorieswitharborholesthatdonotmatchthemountinghardwareofthepowertool
willrunoutofbalance,vibrateexcessivelyandmaycauselossofcontrol.
g)Donotuseadamagedaccessory.Beforeeachuseinspecttheaccessorysuchasabrasivewheelsfor
chipsandcracks,backingpadforcracks,tearorexcesswear,wirebrushforlooseorcrackedwires.If
powertooloraccessoryisdropped,inspectfordamageorinstallanundamagedaccessory.After
inspectingandinstallinganaccessory,positionyourselfandbystandersawayfromtheplaneofthe
rotatingaccessoryandrunthepowertoolatmaximumno‐loadspeedforoneminute.Damaged
accessorieswillnormallybreakapartduringthistesttime.

h)Wearpersonalprotectiveequipment.Dependingonapplication,usefaceshield,safetygogglesor
safetyglasses.Asappropriate,weardustmask,hearingprotectors,glovesandworkshopaproncapable
ofstoppingsmallabrasiveorworkpiecefragments.Theeyeprotectionmustbecapableofstopping
flyingdebrisgeneratedbyvariousoperations.Theeyeprotectionmustbecapableofstoppingflying
debrisgeneratedbyvariousoperations.Thedustmaskorrespiratormustbecapableoffiltratingparticles
generatedbyyouroperation.Prolongedexposuretohighintensitynoisemaycausehearingloss.
i)Keepbystandersasafedistanceawayfromworkarea.Anyoneenteringtheworkareamustwear
personalprotectiveequipment.Fragmentsofworkpieceorofabrokenaccessorymayflyawayand
causeinjurybeyondimmediateareaofoperation.
j)Holdpowertoolbyinsulatedgrippingsurfacesonly,whenperforminganoperationwherethecutting
accessorymaycontacthiddenwiringoritsowncord.Cuttingaccessorycontactinga“live”wiremay
makeexposedmetalpartsofthepowertool“live”andshocktheoperator.
k)Positionthecordclearofthespinningaccessory.Ifyoulosecontrol,thecordmaybecutorsnaggedand
yourhandorarmmaybepulledintothespinningaccessory.
l)Neverlaythepowertooldownuntiltheaccessoryhascometoacompletestop.Thespinningaccessory
maygrabthesurfaceandpullthepowertooloutofyourcontrol.
m)Donotrunthepowertoolwhilecarryingitatyourside.Accidentalcontactwiththespinningaccessory
couldsnagyourclothing,pullingtheaccessoryintoyourbody.
n)Regularlycleanthepowertool’sairvents.Themotor’sfanwilldrawthedustinsidethehousingand
excessiveaccumulationofpowderedmetalmaycauseelectricalhazards.
o)Donotoperatethepowertoolnearflammablematerials.Sparkscouldignitethesematerials.
p)Donotuseaccessoriesthatrequireliquidcoolants.Usingwaterorotherliquidcoolantsmayresultin
electrocutionorshock.
KickbackandRelatedWarnings
Kickbackisasuddenreactiontoapinchedorsnaggedrotatingwheel,backingpad,brushoranyother
accessory.Pinchingorsnaggingcausesrapidstallingoftherotatingaccessorywhichinturncausesthe
uncontrolledpowertooltobeforcedinthedirectionoppositeoftheaccessory’srotationatthepointofthe
binding.
Forexample,ifanabrasivewheelissnaggedorpinchedbytheworkpiece,theedgeofthewheelthatis
enteringintothepinchpointcandigintothesurfaceofthematerialcausingthewheeltoclimboutorkick
out.Thewheelmayeitherjumptowardorawayfromtheoperator,dependingondirectionofthewheel’s
movementatthepointofpinching.Abrasivewheelsmayalsobreakundertheseconditions.
Kickbackistheresultofpowertoolmisuseand/orincorrectoperatingproceduresorconditionsandcanbe
avoidedbytakingproperprecautionsasgivenbelow.
a)Maintainafirmgriponthepowertoolandpositionyourbodyandarmtoallowyoutoresistkickback
forces.Alwaysuseauxiliaryhandle,ifprovided,formaximumcontroloverkickbackortorquereaction
duringstart‐up.Theoperatorcancontroltorquereactionsorkickbackforces,ifproperprecautionsare
taken.
b)Neverplaceyourhandneartherotatingaccessory.Accessorymaykickbackoveryourhand.
c)Donotpositionyourbodyintheareawherepowertoolwillmoveifkickbackoccurs.Kickbackwill
propelthetoolindirectionoppositetothewheel’smovementatthepointofsnagging.
d)Usespecialcarewhenworkingcorners,sharpedgesetc.Avoidbouncingandsnaggingtheaccessory.
Corners,sharpedgesorbouncinghaveatendencytosnagtherotatingaccessoryandcauselossofcontrol
orkickback.
e)Donotattachasawchainwoodcarvingbladeortoothedsawblade.Suchbladescreatefrequentkickbackand
lossofcontrol.
SafetyWarningsSpecificforGrindingOperations:
a)Useonlywheeltypesthatarerecommendedforyourpowertoolandthespecificguarddesignedfor
theselectedwheel.Wheelsforwhichthepowertoolwasnotdesignedcannotbeadequatelyguarded
andareunsafe.
b)Theguardmustbesecurelyattachedtothepowertoolandpositionedformaximumsafety,sothe
leastamountofwheelisexposedtowardstheoperator.Theguardhelpstoprotectoperatorfrom
brokenwheelfragmentsandaccidentalcontactwithwheel.

c)Wheelsmustbeusedonlyforrecommendedapplications.Forexample:donotgrindwiththesideof
cut‐offwheel.Abrasivecut‐offwheelsareintendedforperipheralgrinding,sideforcesappliedtothese
wheelsmaycausethemtoshatter.
d)Alwaysuseundamagedwheelflangesthatareofcorrectsizeandshapeforyourselectedwheel.Proper
wheelflangessupportthewheelthusreducingthepossibilityofwheelbreakage.Flangesforcut‐off
wheelsmaybedifferentfromgrindingwheelflanges.
e)Donotuseworndownwheelsfromlargerpowertools.Wheelintendedforlargerpowertoolisnot
suitableforthehigherspeedofasmallertoolandmayburst.
ADDITIONALSAFETYREGULATIONS
Alwaysuseproperguardwithgrindingwheel.Aguardprotectsoperatorfrombrokenwheelfragments.
Accessoriesmustberatedforatleastthespeedrecommendedonthetoolwarninglabel.Wheelsandother
accessoriesrunningoverratedspeedcanflyapartandcauseinjury.
Holdtoolbyinsulatedgrippingsurfaceswhenperforminganoperationwherethecuttingtoolsmaycontact
hiddenwiringoritsowncord.Contactwitha“live”wirewillmakeexposedmetalpartsofthetool“live”and
shocktheoperator.
Whenthemachineisinoperation,keephandsawayfromthegrindingarea.
Thediscwillnotstopimmediatelythemachineisturnedoff.Exercisecaution.
Donotplacethetooldownafteruseuntilthegrindingwheelshavecometocompletestop.
Donotstartthetoolwhenthegrindingwheelsaretouchingtheworkarea.
Alwaysensurethesafetyguardisattachedcorrectlyanddonotoperatetheanglegrinderwithouttheguard
attached.
Onlyusegrindingwheelsthatareapprovedforamaximumspeedofmarkedorgreater.
Onlyusegrindingwheelswiththecorrectboresizeforthespindleofthegrinder.
Keepthepowercordwellawayfromthecuttingareaduringuse.Alwayspositionthecordsothatitwillnot
becaughtintheworkpiecewhenthegrinderisinuse.
Alwayswearearmuffs,safetyglassesandfacemaskwhileinoperation.
Beforeconnectingthetooltothepowersupplyfollowthesafetyinstructionstoinstallthegrindingwheels.
Donotlockittootight,otherwisecracksmayoccur.
Alwaysusebothhandswhenoperationthetool

3.Operation
SwitchOn/offthetool
1)Whenstartingholdthetoolfirmlywithbothhandsi.e.Onehandonthemotorhousingandtheother
onthesideauxiliaryhandle(1).
2)Startthetoolbypressingtriggerinwards,thenthetoolisenergizedandstartstooperate.(Seefigure5)
3)Thetoolwillstopassoonasreleasingthetriggerofswitch.

Lockthetoolinthe“on”position
1) Whenstartingholdthetoolfirmlywithbothhandsi.e.onehandonthemotorhousingandtheother
onthesideauxiliaryhandle(1).
2) Startthetoolbypressingtriggerinwards,andthenpressthelockbuttonatsidetolockthetoolat
“on”condition.Inthiscondition,thetoolwilloperatecontinuouslywithoutpressingthetriggerallthe
time(Seefigure5)
3) Stopthetoolbyactuatingtheswitchtriggeragain.
4.Operatinginstructions
Note:
Thisanglegrindercanbeusedforgrindingsteel,stoneorceramicworkpiecessuchaspipe,boxsection,
rectangular,angleironsteelbar,householdbricksandtiles.Donotattempttogrindwoodorasoftmetalsuch
aslead.Thematerialwillquickly“fill”thediscandrenderituseless.
Beforestartingthegrinderfirstensurethatthedisc,discguardandtoolareingoodcondition.Positionthe
guardsothatitwilldeflecthotsparksawayfromtheoperator.
1) Donotcoverventswhenthetoolisinuse.Thismaycausedamagetothemotorandreducetheefficiency
ofthetool.
2) Guidebackandforthovertheworkpieceinasteadymotion.
Grinding
Thebestresultsareachievedwithanangleof200to300forgrinding.Movethe
machinebackandforthwithlightpressure.Inthismanner,theworkpiecedoesnot
becometoohot,nodiscolorationoccursandnoridgesareproduced.
Undernocircumstancesshouldacuttingdiscbeusedforroughingwork.
5.Maintanceandinspection
1) Thearmatureandstator(motor)istheheartofthepowertool.Exerciseduecaretoensuretheydonot
becomedamagedoraffectedbyoilorwater.
2) Inspectthecarbonbrushesregularlyandreplacewhentheyarewornupaboutonethird.
3) Regularlyinspectallmountingsandscrewsandensuretheyareproperlytightened.Showedanyofthe
screwsbeloose,tightenthemimmediately.Failuretodosomayresultinseriousdamage.
4) Thesupplycordofthetoolandanyextensioncordusedshouldbecheckedfrequentlyfordamage.If
damaged,havethecordsetreplacedbyanauthorizedservicefacility.Replacetheextensioncordif
necessary.
5) Thegreaseinthegearboxwillrequirereplacementafterextensiveuseofthetool.Pleaserefertoan
authorizedserviceagenttoprovidethisservice.
6) Consultanauthorizedserviceagentintheeventoffailure.
7) Cleananddustthetoolaftereachuse.
