Unpacking:

Ourspeakersaredeliveredinafabriccoverandwellprotectedbyfoaminsertsandtriplelayercardboard
packaging,thusensuringthebestpossibleshippingconditionsfromourassemblylinetotheirfinalinstallation
inyourhome.
Duringtheunpackingstageandthroughtoinstallation,werecommendextremecarewhenhandlingthe
loudspeakersinordertoavoidanydamage.Weadviseyoutoconservetheoriginalpackagingforfuture
transportpurposes.

Installation:

Wedelivertheloudspeakerswithasetoffourdecouplingcones.Theirroleisto
optimizethevibrationflowbetweenspeakerandfloor,thusensuringmaximum
performanceinthebassfrequencyrange.Thespeciallocknutallowsyoutoadjustthe
heightofeachconewithprecision.Werecommendtheuseofoptionaldecoupling
cups(referenceWT‐C‐30‐5G)inordertoprotectdelicatewoodortiledfloors.

Positioningtheloudspeakers:

Stereoset‐up

Theloudspeakersshouldformanisoscelestriangle
withtheoptimallisteningposition.Takecarenotto
allowtoomuchdistancebetweenthetwospeakers
tomaintainarealisticsoundstage.Asfaraspossible
thedistanceAmustbelessthanorequaltothe
distanceB.
Thespeakersshouldbedistancedfromthe
surroundingwallsandcorners,toavoidartificially
increasingthebasslevelandalteringoveralltonal
balance.Adjustthepositioningtoobtainthebass
yourequireforyourindividualsystem.




Ourcolumnspeakersaredesignedtobepositionedatearheightandsothe
GT1speakersmustbepositionedmoreorlessatthesameheighttoensure
optimalsoundbalance.Werecommendtheuseof60cmhighspeakerstands
(askforadvicefromyourretailer).

MultichannelandHomeTheaterset‐up:

LoudspeakersinourGTrangearenotmagneticallyshieldedandcancauseinterferencewithcathoderaytube
screens.Theyshouldbepositionedatadistanceof60cmfromthescreen.PlasmascreensandLCDscreensdo
notsufferfromthesameproblemandthereforenoparticular
precautionsarerequiredasfarasspeakerpositionisconcerned.
Thetwofrontspeakersshouldbesetinthesamewayasthestereo
configuration.Thecenterspeakerisplacedeitherjustaboveyour
screenorjustbelow,accordingtohowyourequipmentisinstalled.
Therearspeakersshouldbepositionedascloseaspossibletothe
listeningarea;nottoocloseandinfrontofthelistenerandnottoo
farbehindtoensureaccurateandnaturalsoundstageimaging.
Iftheseguidelinesaredifficulttoimplementorbecausethe
listeningroomlackssymmetry,youcanimprovethebalanceand
accuracyofsoundreproductionbysettingtimedelayandroom
correctionfeaturesavailableonmanyA/Vamplifiers.
Inthistypeofinstallation,addingaRafale/Furtivesubwoofercan
beveryeffective,toaccuratelyreproduceextremelydetailedlow‐
pitchedfrequenciesfeaturedinmoviesoundtracks.




Choosinganamplifier:

Eachspeakerhasitspeakpowerhandling,whichifnottakenintoaccountproperlycanresultinserious
irreversibledamagetothedrivers.Nevertheless,itisadvisedtoprovidepowerfulamplificationatmoderate
volumeleveltoavoidtheproblemofclippingwhichcanbeequallyasdamagingforyourspeakers.

Connectingtheloudspeakers:

Overallperformanceofasystemalwaysdependsonhowitsweaknessesaremanaged.Withthisinmind,
specialcareshouldbetakenwhenconnectingtheloudspeakertotheamplifier.Signaltransmissionissensitive
toexternalelectromagneticdisturbances.Itisimportanttousehighqualitycableandconnectorstolimitthe
impactasmuchaspossible.AtohmhasspeciallydesigneditsZEFcablesandWT‐STUconnectorstooptimize
connectionanddrawthebestqualitysoundfromyoursystem.Formoreinformationwerecommendthatyou

GT1andGT2featureaselectordialenablingyoutosetthe
loudspeakertothreepossiblefrequencymodes:

‐LinearMode:

Theloudspeakerresponseislinear,inotherwordsthesoundlevel
isconstantthroughoutthefrequencyrangefrombasstotreble.

‐SmoothMode:

Theuppermidrange/trebleisintentionallyattenuatedby2dBto
softentheresponseinroomswhichareveryreverberantand/orto
balanceabrightsoundofelectronics.

‐HighDefMode:

Asopposedtothepreviousselection,inthismode,
theuppermidrange/trebleisincreasedby3dB.The
loudspeakerismorepreciseandthesoundmore
piquant.Thisconfigurationisidealforoverdamped
roomsand/orcanbeusedincombinationwith
electronicswhichsounddullandarelackingin
dynamics.




GT3‐HD:

GT3featurestwoselectordialsenablingyoutosetseparatelythemidrangespeakerandtweetertothree
possiblefrequencymodes.Allinall,youcanchoosebetween9differentfrequencyresponsestotuneperfectly
theGT3loudspeakerwithyourroom/electronicssound.

Toreducebassheaviness,theGT2andGT3comes
withafoamplugwhichyousimplyslotintothe
loudspeakerstand.Theseplugsareparticularly
efficientwhenthespeakersareplacedtooclose
totherearwall/orcorners.






Sandcompartment

TheGT2andGT3columnfeaturesaspecialcompartmentatitsbase
designedtoenablesandfilling.Allyouneedtodoiscarefully
removethesixscrewswhichholdthelogoplateinpositionandby
usingafunnelfillthecompartmentwithspecialaquariumsandor
finebuildingsand(thesandmustbetotallydry!).Youwillneed
about3LofsandforGT2and4LforGT3.Bydoingthisyouwill
improvestabilityoftheloudspeaker,thelowerfrequencieswillgain
inprecisionandthetransitorysoundswillbeclearer.

Breakinperiod:

Ourloudspeakersrequirearunninginperiodofaboutfiftyhoursfor
themtoproducetheirbestqualityperformance.Afterthisperiod
thesoundmessagewillgainintermsofamplitudeandsharpness.
Thereisnoneedtoreducevolumeduringthisperiod.

CareandMaintenance:

Toensurethattheloudspeakersconservetheirinitialappearance,werecommendthatyoucleanthemwitha
drydustingcloth.Neverapplyanykindofdetergent,solventsoranyalcoholbasedproducts.


accompaniedbyproofofpurchasewithyourretailersstamp,wewillextendthiswarrantytofiveyears.

