ThisequipmentisguaranteedbyAtomMedicalCorporationforaperiodofoneyearfromthedateofdeliverytobe
freeofanydefectsinbothmaterialsandworkmanshipwhenusednormallyforitsintendedpurpose.Anypartsof
thisequipmentprovingtobesodefectivewillberepairedorreplacedatnochargeduringthewarrantyperiod.In
thefollowingcases,however,actualexpensesneedtobepaidevenduringthewarrantyperiod.
(1)Wearandtearofexpendables.
(2)Troubleanddamageduetoimproperhandling,suchasdroppingtheunitduringtransportortransfer.
(3)Troubleanddamageduetoafire,salt,gas,extraordinaryvoltage,earthquake,electricalstormand
flooding,orothernaturalcalamities.
(4)Travelexpensesinthecaseofatriptoanisolatedisland,aremoteplace,etc.forthepurposeofrepair.
DamageinshipmentshouldbereportedpromptlytoAtomaccompaniedbythecertificateofthecarriercon-
cerned.
Allcorrespondenceconcerningtheequipmentshouldspecifythemodelnameandtheserialnumber.

Deathorseriousinjury,damagetoequipmentorafirewillresultiftheinstructionsgivenbelowarenotfol-
lowed.
Besuretoclosethefrontadmittancepanelandaccessportswhentheunitis
inuse.
Usingtheunitwhenthefrontadmittancepaneloranaccessportisleftopenmaycausetheinfantto
falloutofthebabycompartment.Besuretoclosethefrontadmittancepanelandaccessportseven
whenperformingphototherapyonaninfantinsidetheincubator.
Iftheincubatorairtemperatureriseswhenperformingphototherapy,proceed
withphototherapyafterplacingtheinfantinacotoranopenincubator(infant
warmer),accordingtothedoctor'sjudgment.
Sincegrowinginfantsreleaseahighlevelofheat,theincubatorairtemperaturemayriseifyouplace
theinfantintheincubatorandperformphototherapy.Also,ifyouusemultiplephototherapyunitsat
thesametime,oriftheroomtemperatureishigh,theincubatorairtemperaturemayrise.Inthis
case,proceedwithphototherapyafterplacingtheinfantinacotoranopen-typeincubator,according
tothedoctor'sjudgment.Takesufficientcarewhenusingacot,asitbecomesdifficulttowatchthe
infant.Also,placinganicebaginsidetheincubatorhastheeffectofdecreasingthetemperature.
However,besuretoclosethefrontadmittancepanelandaccessportsinthiscasealso.
Donotleavetheunitunattendedwhenthefrontadmittancepaneloranac-
cessportisopen.
Ifthefrontadmittancepaneloranaccessportisleftopen,theinfantmayfalloutofthebabycompart-
mentandevenloseitslife.Neverleavetheunitunattendedwhenthefrontadmittancepaneloran
accessportisopen.
Ifthefrontadmittancepanel,asnap-openaccessportorahookslidershould
befoundlooseorfaultyinanyway,stopusingtheunitimmediatelyandask
forrepair.
Theinfantmayfalloutoftheincubator.
Neverplaceabodywarmerorotherpossibleignitionsourcesinorneartheunit.
Useofoxygenwillincreaseariskofexplosionorafire.
Abodywarmerorotherdevicesinwhichfireisusedorwhichmaygenerateasparkmaycause
explosionorafireifusedneartheunit.
Donotusetheunitinthepresenceofaflammableanestheticgas.
Theunitmaycauseexplosionorafireifusedinthepresenceofsuchagas.
Donotuseether,alcoholorotherignitablesubstances.
Evenasmallamountofether,alcoholorotherignitablesubstancesmaycauseafirewhenmixed
withtheoxygenintheincubator.

Groundtheunitsecurely.
Otherwisecurrentleakagemaycauseanelectricshock.Tocompletethegroundconnection,con-
nectthepowercordonlytoa3Ppoweroutletincludingagroundterminalandgroundedproperly.
Donotoperatetheunitifyouhaveanydoubtaboutitsgroundconnection.
Donotuseneartheunitanydevicegeneratinghighfrequency.
Electro-Surgicalapparatus,cellularphonesandotherdeviceswhichgeneratehighfrequencyshould
notbeusedneartheunitduringitsoperationtopreventmalfunctionoftheunitduetojamming.
Analyzearterialgaslevelsrepeatedlywhenahighoxygenenvironmentisrequired.
Itisreportedtobeextremelyimportantandessential,whentheinfant'sconditionscallforahigh
oxygenenvironment,torepeatedlyanalyzearterialgaslevelsinordertomaintaintheoxygencon-
centrationintheincubatoratadesiredlevel.Followthedoctor'sinstructionsinmeasuringthe
oxygenconcentrationbecauseignoringessentialrequirementsmayincreasetheriskofretinopathy
ofprematurity.
Donotjolttheunitorbumpitagainstanything.
Thescrewsorfixedpartsmaybecomeloose.

Deathorseriousinjuryduetoafireoranelectricshockwillresultiftheinstructionsgivenbelowarenot
followed.
Besuretofollowthedoctor'sinstructionsinsettingtheincubatorairtempera-
tureortheinfant'sskintemperature.
Besuretofollowthedoctor'sinstructionsinsettingtherelativehumidityinthe
incubator.
Besuretofollowthedoctor'sinstructionsinsettingtheoxygenconcentration
intheincubator.
Oxygenformedicaluseshouldbeused.
Besuretobearinmindthefollowingpointsduringoxygensupply.
● Donotplaceabodywarmer,aflashlight,oilsandfats,orflammablevaporizablemattersinthe
incubator.
●Usepurecottonfortheinfant'sclothingandbedsheets,etc.Donotuseanymaterialthatiseasily
chargedwithstaticelectricity.
●Usepurecottonorfire-proofedmaterialsfortheclothingofdoctors,nursesandthoseambulance
menwhohandlethisunit.
Bearinmindthefollowingpointswhileusingoxygensupplyequipment.
● Ifoil,greaseoragrease-likesubstanceshouldgetincontactwithpressurizedoxygen,aviolent
spontaneousignitionmayoccur.Donotletsuchsubstancessticktotheoxygenpressureregula-
tor,theoxygencylindervalve,pipings,connectionsandotheroxygensupplyequipment.
●Onahighpressureoxygencylinder,useonlyatestedpressurereducingvalveorpressureregu-
latingvalveindicatedspecificallyforoxygensupply.Donotusesuchavalveforanygasother
thanairoroxygen.Itisdangeroustouseavalvetosupplyagasotherthanairoroxygenandthen
tosupplyoxygenagain.

Smokingisprohibitedintheroomwheretheunitisinstalled.
Donotplaceanypossibleignitionsourcesintheroom.
Avoiddamagingthepowercord.
Adamagedpowercordmaycauseafireoranelectricshock.
● Donotpinchthepowercordbetweentheunitandthewall,ashelforthefloor.
● Donotplacethepowercordnearaheatingapparatusorheatit.
● Donotputanythingheavyonthepowercord.
● Alwaysgraspthepowerplugwithyourhandtoremovethepowercordfromthepoweroutlet.
Adamagedpowercordshouldbereplacedimmediatelywithanewone.
Useonlythepowercordsuppliedwiththeunit.
Otherwise,afireoranelectricshockmayresult.
Beforesanitizingtheunit,ensurethattheunitiselectricallydisconnectedand
thattheunitandtheheaterhavesufficientlycooleddown.
Donottouchthepowerplugwithawethand.
Touchingthepowerplugwithawethandmaycauseanelectricshock.
Donotdisassembleormodifytheunit.
Disassemblingormodifyingtheunitmaycauseafire,anelectricshockorinjury.
Donotinstalltheunitwhereitwillbeexposedtoexcessivehumidity,dustor
steam.
Installingtheunitinsuchaplacemaycauseafireoranelectricshock.
Thepoweroutletshouldbelocatedneartheunittopreventaccidentalcon-
tactwithatrailingpowercord.Useaseparatepoweroutletforeachunit.
Donotputmanyloadsononepoweroutlet.
Connectthepowercordonlytoa3Ppoweroutletinordertocompletethe
groundconnection.
Donotoperatetheunitifyouhaveanydoubtaboutitsgroundconnection.
Groundperipheralelectricequipmentsecurely.
Neverconnecttheunittoapowerunitotherthanthatspecified.
Theunitshouldbeservicedonlybyqualifiedpersonnel.
Besuretoperformstart-upinspection.
Usingtheunitwithoutperformingstart-upinspectionmayletadefectpassunnoticedandcausea
seriousaccident.

Besuretocleananddisinfecttheunitbeforeusingitforthefirsttimeafter
purchase.
Theunitisshippedwithoutbeingdisinfected.
Alwayskeeptheunitwarmtomaintaintheincubatorairtemperatureatafixed
levelduringthestandbymode.
Placetheinfantintheincubatoronlywhentheincubatorairtemperaturehas
stabilized.
Donottwistorpullthecordsbyforce.
Ifanydefectshouldbefound,askanexpertforrepairwithoutattemptingtorepairityourself.
Removethepowerplugfromthepoweroutletbeforemovingtheunittoan-
otherplaceorwhentheunitisnotgoingtobeusedforalongtime.
Movingtheunittoanotherplacewiththepowerplugconnectedtothepoweroutletwilldamagethe
powercordandmaycauseafireoranelectricshock.
Removethepowerplugfromthepoweroutletbeforecleaningordisinfecting
theunit.
Cleaningordisinfectingtheunitwiththepowerplugconnectedtothepoweroutletmaycausean
electricshock.
Placetheunitonastablesurface.
Placingtheunitonanunstableplatformoratiltedsurfacewillcauseittofallordropandmayhurt
someone.Checkthestrengthoftheplacewheretheunitistobeplacedorinstalled.
Installtheunitoutofreachofsmallchildren.
Inperformingphototherapytotheinfantintheincubator,payspecialattention
totheinfant'stemperatureandtheincubatorairtemperatureduringthetherapy.
Theinfant'sskintemperatureandtheincubatorairtemperaturemayriseduetotheradiantenergy
oflight.
Donotinstalltheunitindirectsunshineornearaheatingapparatus.
Donotexposetheunittoextraordinarilyhightemperatureorexcessivehu-
midity.
Donotplaceanythingheavyontheunit.
Checktheoperationoftheperipheraldevices.
Ifadevicetransmittingorreceivingweaksignalsisinstalledneartheunit,itmaybeaffectedbythe
electromagneticwavesgeneratedbythelatter.Checktheoperationofperipheraldevicesforany
effectbeforeusingtheunitinclinicalsettings.Stopusingtheunitimmediatelyifanytroubleis
detected.

Themetalfittingsonthefourcornersoftheupper
surfaceofthecabinetortheHLstandshouldfitin
thesocketsinthebottomsurfaceofthemainbody
withoutleavinganyspacebetweenthemorwithout
tilting.
(2)Fitintheinterlockinghooksonbothsidesofthecabi-
netortheHLstandwiththemetallicpartsonthe
mainincubatorbodyandlocksecurely.

standareseparatelypackedwhenshippedfromthefac-
tory.Assembletheseparatecomponentscorrectly.
Atleasttwopeopleshouldjoinforcesinas-
semblingtheunitforsafety'ssake.
Interlocking

Fixthemainincubatorbodyreliablytothe
cabinetortheHLstandbyfittinginthe
interlockinghookssecurelywiththeme-
tallicparts.Otherwisethemainincubator
bodymighttipoverandfalldownwhen
forceisappliedinopeningthehood.Never
moveoroperatetheincubatorbeforethe
mainincubatorbodyisfixedsecurelyto
thecabinetortheHLstand.Checkthat
theinterlockinghooksarelockedinrou-
tineinspection.

3-2. WheretoInstalltheInfantIncubator
Installtheincubatorinahorizontalplaceconvenientfor
work.Avoidinstallingitnearaheatingapparatus,bythe
windoworwhereanopenfireisused.
Avoidinstallingtheincubatorindirectsun-
shine,nearastoveoraradiator,inthecur-
rentofanair-conditioner,orbyacoldwin-
dowsothatitmaynotbeaffecteddirectlyby
suchexternalthermalconditions.
3-3. LockingtheCasters
(1)Whentheincubatorisinstalledinadesiredplace,
lockthetwocastersonthecabinetortheHLstand.
(2)Tolockacaster,stepdownonthestoppertipforthe
stoppertobeintheLOCKEDposition.
(3)Tounlockacaster,placethestopperintheUN-
LOCKEDposition.
InstallthecabinetortheHLstandofthein-
cubatoronahorizontalandsteadyfloor.Step
onthetwocasterstopperstolockthecasters
securely.Tomovetheincubatortoanother
place,besuretounlockthecasters.
