Internet SCSI technology (iSCSI) is one of today’s
fastest growing storage networking protocols.
iSCSI utilizes Ethernet networks to allow users to
reap the benefits of networked storage, such as
increased availability and scalability. However, this
presents a problem for organizations interested in
migrating to iSCSI but have already invested thou-
sands of dollars in SCSI-based storage. ATTO
iPBridges help resolve this issue by offering iSCSI
connectivity to native SCSI devices, extending the
useful life of SCSI devices while eliminating the
need to purchase costly new storage.
The ATTO iPBridgeTM 1550D provides a simple
and cost-effective way to add iSCSI connectivity to
Ultra320 SCSI devices. The 1550D is available as
a compact desktop unit which provides near-wire
speed throughput, allowing SCSI storage to oper-
ate at near-native speeds. Initial installation and
configuration is a quick and painless task due to
the ExpressWizard configuration assistant, which
helps optimize the bridge for specific application
needs by asking a series of basic questions. Man-
agement of the bridge is simplified with Express-
NAV, ATTO’s web-based management GUI which
provides an easy interface to configure, manage
and diagnose ATTO iPBridges.
The iPBridge 1550D offers broad market accep-
tance through ISV certifications and support for
leading iSCSI protocols, and is the first choice of
organizations that require cost-effective iSCSI con-
nectivity without sacrificing performance.
