Please do not scratch, bend, twist or stretch the wires. Do not place the wires in high
temperature. Do not press hard or decompose the on-board charging adapter.
Please do not place nails, pins, and other small debris on the charging port, in order to
avoid damaging the charging connector.
Do not place the product in unstable place such as high altitude area, slope, or shelf.
This product is powered by electricity and should not be used as a toy for children.
To avoid short circuit, do not immerse the product in water or other liquid.

standard.

Getting Started
AUTOOL SDT 208 is a professional auto pipe leak detect tool. It will help us position
leakage on any pipe system quickly and exactly,such as EVAP system,Intake system,
exhaust system...and so on.
Main Unit Structure
SDT 208 is designed for detecting the leakage of pipe systems on cars, motorcycles, such
as fuel pipe, air intake system and cooling tank.
SDT 208 is for all pipe system and EVAP.
Cautions
1. When you use this detector the first time, please fill 20-30ml oil, not beyond this range.
2. Fresh oil can be filled with only when the smoke is light, and it can’t be filled over 15ml
every time.
3. Before filling fresh oil, please pour out the remaining oil in the detector.
4. Please replace the detector oil regularly.

Tool Description
1. Handle: convenient for carrying.
2. Smoke oil fill-in port: please do not fill in more than 100ml oil, do not exceed the MAX
scale.
3. Over Heat Protection light: when the oil in the machine is insufficient or the machine
works too long, the Over Heat Protection light will give alert.
4. Power light: when the machine is put through electricity, press the power switch and the
light will be red.
5. Standard mode switch: press Standard Mode switch, only after pressing this, can leak
detection related operation be carried out.
6. EVAP mode switch: press EVAP Mode switch, only after pressing this switch, can leak
detection related operation be carried out.
7. Detection start switch: press the Air Start switch, the air pump will start working, only after
the air pump start working, can the smoke start switch work.
8. Smoke start switch: press this button to let machine give out smoke. When the oil in the
machine is insufficient or the machine works too long, the Over Heat Protection light will
give alert until the temperature is back to normal range or the oil is filled, then the machine
will work properly.
9. Air flow display: if the system does not leak, it can be observed through this display- the
meter sinks at the bottom, pressure gauge pointer will rise; if the system leaks, the meter
will float, pressure gauge pointer will drop; through the air flow adjustment knob, you can
adjust the flow of the smoke.
10. Air pressure gauge: through the change of pressure gauge pointer, you can quickly find
out whether the vehicle pipeline system leaks or not;
11. Power socket: insert the power cord here to provide power for the machine.
12. The level gauge: it can directly observe the remaining oil level inside the machine and
the situation of the oil. If the oil is very yellow, please replace the oil.
13. Smoke outlet port: when the Air Start switch is pressed, only air is imported into the
automobile pipeline system through this outlet port, after pressing the Smoke Start switch,
at this time smoke can be imported into the automobile pipeline system through the outlet

port;
14. Oil outlet port: when each machine is used, please drain the oil to prevent particulate
matter deposition and affecting the equipment function. After draining oil, please keep the
machine closed.
15. Power switch: turn on the power supply, press the switch, the indicator POWER will light
up, indicating that the power supply of the smoke generator is normal.
Operation
1. After assembling the smoke leak detector, inject about 30ML smoke oil for the first time.
The test oil for each injection should not exceed MAX scale. It is suggested that the testing
operation should not exceed 15 minutes.
2. Open the engine cover and remove the air filter. Some vehicles need to remove the air
flow sensor.
3. Put the intake bladder/ adapter into the intake hose of the engine to block the pipe, and
press it hard until the intake hose is sealed.
4. Connect the power cord to the car battery, the red clamp to the positive electrode of the
battery, and the black clamp to the negative electrode.
5. Turn on the power control switch, the POWER lights up, indicating that the power supply
of the smoke generator is normal.
6. After pressing the STANDARD MODE switch, then pressing the AIR START switch, the
air pump starts to work. Only when the air pump starts, the SMOKE START switch can be
pressed to start work.
7. After pressing the AIR START switch and the air pump starts work, pay attention to the
pressure gauge calibration. If the pressure gauge calibration exceeds 15 PSI, the flowmeter
beads sink to the bottom and remain unchanged, this indicates that no leakage has been
detected. If the pressure rises slowly and the flow meter monitors the air inflow all the time, it
is necessary to check whether the assembling and parts are installed properly. After no error
found, the system is confirmed to have leakage, press the SMOKE START button.
8. Smoke starts when SMOKE START switch is pressed. After smoke start-up, OVER HEAT
PROTECTION lights up if the oil in the machine is insufficient or the continuous working
time is too long, resulting in overheat of the system. It will resume work until the temperature
drops to the normal range.
9. According to different types of vehicles, about 1 minute after the start of smoke, the
engine pipeline will be filled with smoke, and the system leakage point will be checked.
10. At the end of the inspection, take off the power cord and keep the accessories for next
use. The main body of the intake bladder/ adapter is made of rubber. Please avoid expose
to corrosive liquids such as gasoline.
Detection Method of Fuel Evaporative Emission Control System
(EVAP)
Since 1996, cars manufactured in the United States have been equipped with EVAP service
ports; in most American cars, EVAP service ports are usually located in engine

compartments, but some special models of EVAP service ports may be located in other
locations. EVAP routine detection method: open the plastic cap of the EVAP service port,
then remove the one-way valve clockwise using the valve core wrench, then install the
adapter of the EVAP service port, then import smoke from this port into the EVAP system for
leakage detection.
1）Leakage Condition Check
If the machine is equipped with pressure gauge products, you can first not to open the
smoke generator switch, block the smoke outlet, observe and confirm the pressure gauge
readings, and compare the pressure gauge readings in the detection process. If the
pressure gauge readings can continue to rise and maintain rising up, this indicates that
there is no leakage in the system; if the pressure gauge readings decline, indicating that the
system has leakage. If the pressure gauge reading is zero, it means the size of the leakage
point is more than 0.3 mm.
2）About Smoke Oil
This product can function with ordinary fume oil or baby oil. The selected fume oil must be
pure, non-aqueous liquid and in a fluid state. Do not use sticky or dense smoke oil, which
can easily damage the machine. If the product failures are caused by improper use of
smoke oil, this shall not be covered by the product warranty. When adding smoke oil, please
use the pointed measuring bottle. If the oil exceeds the MAX, please open the oil outlet port
and discharge the appropriate amount of fume.
Maintenance
With longtime high temperature, the smoke and oil will oxidize and deteriorate. It will infect
the service life of smoke generated part, so please change smoke and oil regularly.
1. Before filling fresh oil, please pour out the remaining oil in the detector.
2. When the smoke output has water drops, please replace with fresh oil.
3. Liquid paraffin and baby oil are OK.

How to do leakage test?
1 Turn on device then block smoke exhaust port on SDT 206, record pressure gauge value
2 Connect smoke exhaust port to the pipe system you want to test
3 Wait for a while. Pressure gauge value decrease means the pipe system have leakage;
pressure gauge value show "0" means diameter of leakage point is more than 0.3mm

ries since the day the customers have received the product parcel.
Warranty Access
1. Repair or replace the equipment will be done according to the specific fault conditions;
2. We guarantee that all replacement parts, accessories or equipment are brand new;
3. When there is a product breakdown that can not be solved within 90 days, customer
should provide video and pictures as proof, we will bear the freight cost and provide
customer the accessories in need to replace. After receiving the product for more than 90
days, the customer shall bear the freight cost, we will provide the accessory for free to
replace.
Warranty not Covered in Conditions Listed Below
1. Product is bought through non-official AUTOOL purchase channel.
2. Product failure is caused by incorrect use of the product, use for other wrong purpose or
human factors.
