Safety Guide
Listening to music for long periods of time at excessive
levels can cause irreparable damage to your ears.
Audeze recommends turning off the Deckard before
connecting or removing audio or power cables.Lower the
volume before connecting (or removing) your headphone
cable from the Deckard, then gradually increase the volume
until you reach a comfortable volume level.
The Deckard’s class-A circuitry generates some heat so we
recommend leaving 1-inch clearance around the chassis for
proper heat dissipation.
AC Power
Ensure the voltage indicated on the rear panel of your
Audeze Deckard matches your AC mains supply. Attempt-
ing to use your Deckard at any voltage other than that
specified on the rear panel of the unit may cause damage
not covered by the Warranty.

Care and Maintenance
Regular maintenance is not required, but an occasional wipe
with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth is recommended while the
Deckard is powered down.
TIP: If you leave your cables connected to the Deckard for long
periods of time, we recommend that every six months you shut
off the Deckard and disconnect and connect the cables several
times; the wiping motion cleans the RCA terminals of oxidation.
NOTE: Opening device will void warranty. Contact Audeze for
service. Keep the product, accessories and packaging out of
reach of children. This product is not intended for use by
children under the age of 12.
Unpacking
Be careful when handling the Deckard. It’s important to note
that the side panel heatsinks are relatively sharp.

Connecting Your Deckard
If you’re using the Deckard in digital input mode, connect its
USB input to your computer or other USB-equipped source
and ensure the input switch on the front panel is set to “USB”.
In the event you want to use the Deckard in analog mode, you
can connect the source to the left and right RCA analog inputs
and change the input switch on the front panel to “RCA”. To
use the Deckard as a system preamplifier use the pair of left
and right RCA outputs on the rear panel labeled “OUTPUT”;
just add powered speakers and you’ve got a desktop audio
system ready to go.
The internal DAC has impressive specifications that plays 16 to
32-bit audio and sampling rates from 44.1kHz to 384kHz on
Mac OS 10.6.4 and above. Windows computers are system
limited to 192kHz and 24-bits. The front-panel gain switch
chooses between three gain settings and we recommend
starting at the uppermost position labeled Mid with Audeze
headphones; other brands may require changing the gain.
The headphone output is a standard quarter-inch stereo jack
with RCA line-level analog inputs and outputs.

Window’s Driver Installation
Visit Audeze.com to download drivers for Windows. Mac users
be aware that OS 10.6.4 and above feature native support so
no drivers are necessary.
1. Plug in the power cord and plug in the USB cable on the Deckard.
2. Plug in the Deckard USB cable into your PC.
3. Turn the power switch (located on the rear panel) to the on position.
4. Insert the provided mini-CD into your disk drive or download on the
Deckard page on Audeze.
5. On the CD you will find “Deckard Windows Driver.exe”,
right click on the file and select “Run as administrator”.
6. You will be prompted to allow the installation process to make
changes to your computer. Select “Yes” to install the software.
If you select “No” you cannot install the software.
Warranty
The Audeze product comprising the Deckard Headphone Amp/DAC/Preamp (an
“Audeze Product”) is under warranty for three (3) year from the date of original
retail purchase (the “Warranty Period”).
What’s covered: Audeze warrants to the original purchaser that the Audeze
Product will be free of defects related to manufacturing, parts, materials, and
workmanship under normal and accepted use in accordance with Audeze’s
published guidelines. Audeze’s guidelines include, but are not limited to,
information contained in technical specifications, user manuals and service
communications.
What’s not covered: This warranty does not cover defects resulting from
improper or unreasonable use or maintenance; cosmetic damage, including
but not limited to scratches, dents and broken parts; failure to follow
operating instructions; accident; excess moisture; excess temperature; power
surges; connections to improper voltage supply; unauthorized alteration or
modification of original condition; damage caused by use with non-Audeze
products; products purchased from unauthorized dealers; or defects incurred
during transportation for which claims must be presented to the carrier.
Because we use natural woods and leather in some Audeze Products, variations
in grain and color are the inherent and natural characteristics of the wood. These
variations are natural and are considered by Audeze as acceptable. Additionally,
as wood ages, the finished color may change. These changes in color and finish
are natural wood characteristics and are not covered under this warranty.
What we will do: We will, at our sole discretion and to the extent permitted by
law, repair or replace (using new or refurbished Audeze Products) Audeze
Products that are under warranty for the period listed, from the date of original
retail purchase.
What we will not do: Except as stated below, pay shipping, insurance or
transportation charges from you to us, or any import fees, duties and taxes. If
the Audeze Product is covered by this warranty and is provided to us within
the first 30 days of the Warranty Period, then we will reimburse you for
shipping charges.
If the Audeze Product you send to us is not covered by this warranty, you will be
charged the shipping costs. If you are outside the USA and purchased this
product directly from Audeze you must claim your warranty service from
Audeze, not from a foreign dealer or distributor.
Warranty eligibility statement: To be eligible for service under this warranty you
must include with the repair item(s) a valid bill of sale from an authorized Audeze
retailer detailing the following information:
Retailer’s name
Original date and proof of purchase
Model or SKU number of the product purchased
Serial Number
Additional product information and limitations
Warranty replacements: Audeze strives to improve the performance of our
products, and therefore reserves the right to make changes to our
design/specifications/materials at any time without notification. Audeze may,
at its discretion, choose to replace the Audeze Product completely with a new
or remanufactured product. In the event of product obsolescence, a suitable
replacement will be chosen based upon the features, the intended use (as
determined by Audeze) and the retail price of the original Audeze Product.
Product: All warranty replacements are guaranteed for 90 days or until the
conclusion of the Warranty Period of the original Audeze Product, whichever
period is greater. Audeze does not provide advance replacements for Audeze
Products.
Determining authority: Audeze will be the final determining authority for all
potential warranty claims for service and/or replacement.

7. Follow the on screen instructions of the installation
Wizard then select “Install”.
8. Check “Accept” and click “Next” when prompted with the
End User License Agreement. If you do not accept the
agreement you cannot install the software.
9. Choose installation destination. The default installation
destination is C:\Program Files\AUDEZE. Then select “Install”.
10.When the installation is complete, select “Next”.
11. Select “Finish” to exit the Installation Wizard.
12. On your local drive navigate to
Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound.
13. Select the option “XMOS USB Audio”.
Highlight and select “Set Default”.

Warranty
The Audeze product comprising the Deckard Headphone Amp/DAC/Preamp (an
“Audeze Product”) is under warranty for three (3) year from the date of original
retail purchase (the “Warranty Period”).
What’s covered: Audeze warrants to the original purchaser that the Audeze
Product will be free of defects related to manufacturing, parts, materials, and
workmanship under normal and accepted use in accordance with Audeze’s
published guidelines. Audeze’s guidelines include, but are not limited to,
information contained in technical specifications, user manuals and service
communications.
What’s not covered: This warranty does not cover defects resulting from
improper or unreasonable use or maintenance; cosmetic damage, including
but not limited to scratches, dents and broken parts; failure to follow
operating instructions; accident; excess moisture; excess temperature; power
surges; connections to improper voltage supply; unauthorized alteration or
modification of original condition; damage caused by use with non-Audeze
products; products purchased from unauthorized dealers; or defects incurred
during transportation for which claims must be presented to the carrier.
Because we use natural woods and leather in some Audeze Products, variations
in grain and color are the inherent and natural characteristics of the wood. These
variations are natural and are considered by Audeze as acceptable. Additionally,
as wood ages, the finished color may change. These changes in color and finish
are natural wood characteristics and are not covered under this warranty.
What we will do: We will, at our sole discretion and to the extent permitted by
law, repair or replace (using new or refurbished Audeze Products) Audeze
Products that are under warranty for the period listed, from the date of original
retail purchase.
What we will not do: Except as stated below, pay shipping, insurance or
transportation charges from you to us, or any import fees, duties and taxes. If
the Audeze Product is covered by this warranty and is provided to us within
the first 30 days of the Warranty Period, then we will reimburse you for

Écouter de la musique à un volume excessif pendant des périodes
prolongées peut entraîner une détérioration irréversible de l’ouïe.
Audeze recommande d’éteindre le Deckard avant de brancher ou
de débrancher les câbles.
Diminuez le volume avant de brancher (ou de débrancher) le câble
du casque sur le Deckard, puis augmentez-le progressivement
jusqu’à atteindre un volume confortable.
Le circuit pure classe A de Deckard générant de la chaleur, nous
recommandons de maintenir un espace de 2,5 cm (1 po) tout
autour du châssis pour assurer une dissipation thermique
adéquate.
Alimentation CA
Veillez à ce que la tension indiquée sur le panneau arrière de votre
Audeze Deckard corresponde à la tension de votre alimentation

Soins et entretien
Un entretien régulier n’est pas nécessaire, mais nous recom-
mandons un nettoyage occasionnel avec un chiffon propre, sec
et non pelucheux lorsque le Deckard est hors tension.
CONSEIL : Si vous laissez les câbles branchés au Deckard
pendant une période prolongée, nous recommandons d’étein-
dre le Deckard tous les six (6) mois et de débrancher puis de
rebrancher les câbles plusieurs fois de suite. Ce mouvement de
va-et-vient permettra de retirer toute oxydation éventuelle sur
les bornes RCA.
REMARQUE : l’ouverture de l’appareil annulera la garantie.
Contactez Audeze pour l’entretien et la réparation. Maintenez
le produit, les accessoires et l’emballage hors de la portée des
enfants. Ce produit n’est pas destiné aux enfants de moins de
12 ans.
Déballage
Manipulez le Deckard avec soin. Il est important de noter que
les dissipateurs de chaleur latéraux sont relativement acérés.

Branchement du Deckard
Si le Deckard est utilisé en mode d’entrée numérique, branchez
l’entrée USB sur votre ordinateur ou toute autre source USB, et
assurez-vous que le commutateur d’entrée du panneau avant est
réglé sur « USB ». Si vous souhaitez utiliser le Deckard en mode
analogique, vous pouvez brancher la source sur les entrées RCA
gauche et droite et régler le commutateur d’entrée du panneau
avant sur « RCA ». Pour utiliser le Deckard comme système de
préamplification, vous pouvez utiliser la paire de sorties RCA
gauche et droite du panneau arrière (« OUTPUT »). Il vous suffit
alors de brancher des haut-parleurs alimentés pour disposer d’un
système audio de bureau prêt à l’emploi.
Le DAC interne est doté de caractéristiques impressionnantes, qui
permettent une lecture audio entre 16 et 32 bits avec des taux
d’échantillonnage entre 44,1 kHz et 384 kHz sur Mac OS 10.6.4 et
les versions ultérieures. Les ordinateurs Windows sont limités à 192
kHz et 24 bits. Le commutateur de gain du panneau avant permet
de choisir entre trois réglages de gain. Pour un casque Audeze,
nous vous recommandons de commencer par le réglage le plus en
haut intitulé « Mid ». Un réglage différent sera peut-être recom-
mandé pour d’autres marques.
La sortie casque est une prise stéréo standard de 1/4 po avec des
entrées et sorties analogiques RCA de niveau de ligne.

Installation des pilotes Windows
Consultez Audeze.com pour télécharger les pilotes Windows. Étant donné
que le système Mac OS 10.6.4 et les versions supérieures disposent d’une
prise en charge native, aucun pilote n’est requis.
1. Raccordez le cordon électrique et branchez le câble USB sur le Deckard.
2. Branchez le câble USB du Deckard sur votre ordinateur.
3. Placez le commutateur d’alimentation (situé sur le panneau arrière) en
position de marche (ON).
4. Introduisez le mini-CD fourni dans votre lecteur ou téléchargez les pilotes
depuis la page Deckard du site d’Audeze.
5. Vous trouverez sur le CD un fichier intitulé « Deckard Windows Driver.exe ».
Cliquez avec le bouton droit de la souris sur ce fichier et sélectionnez
« Exécuter en tant qu’administrateur ».
6. Vous serez invité(e) à autoriser le processus d’installation à effectuer des
modifications sur votre ordinateur. Sélectionnez « Oui » pour installer le
logiciel. L’installation ne sera pas possible si vous sélectionnez « Non ».
Déclaration de garantie
Le Produit Audeze comprenant l’amplificateur/DAC/préamplificateur pour casque
Deckard (le « Produit Audeze ») est sous garantie pendant trois (3) ans à compter
de la date initiale d’achat au détail (la « Période de garantie »).
Ce que couvre la garantie : Audeze garantit à l’acheteur original que le Produit
Audeze sera sans défaut ou vice lié à la fabrication, aux pièces, aux matériaux et à
la qualité de la main-d’œuvre dans des conditions d’utilisation normales et
acceptées, conformément aux directives publiées par Audeze. Les directives
d’Audeze comprennent, mais sans s’y limiter, les informations contenues dans les
caractéristiques techniques, les guides de l’utilisateur et les communications de
réparation/d’entretien.
Ce que la garantie ne couvre pas : cette garantie ne couvre pas les défauts
résultant d’une utilisation ou d’un entretien inapproprié(e) ou déraisonnable ; les
dommages d’ordre cosmétique, y compris, mais sans s’y limiter, les rayures, les
éraflures, les bosses et les matériaux plastiques cassés ; tout non-respect des
instructions d’utilisation ; un accident ; l’humidité excessive ; les températures
excessives ; les surtensions ; tout branchement à une source d’alimentation dont la
tension est inappropriée ; tout changement ou toute modification non autorisé(e)
de l’état d’origine du produit ; tout dommage provoqué par une utilisation avec
des produits non-Audeze ; les produits achetés auprès d’un distributeur non
autorisé ; ou les défauts survenus durant le transport (les réclamations doivent
être adressées au transporteur).
Puisque nous utilisons des bois naturels et du cuir dans certains produits Audeze,
les variations au niveau du grain et de la couleur sont des caractéristiques
inhérentes et naturelles du bois. Ces variations sont naturelles et sont
considérées comme acceptables par Audeze. De plus, la couleur finale du bois
peut également changer lorsque celui-ci vieillit. Ces changements de couleur et
de finition sont des caractéristiques naturelles du bois et ne sont pas couverts
par cette garantie.
Ce que nous ferons : nous procéderons, à notre entière discrétion et dans la
mesure autorisée par la loi, à la réparation ou au remplacement (par des produits
Audeze neufs ou remis à neuf en usine) de tout Produit Audeze valablement sous
garantie, à compter de la date de l’achat initial.
Ce que nous ne ferons pas : sauf exceptions indiquées ci-après, nous ne paierons
ni les frais d’expédition, d’assurance ou de transport ni les frais d’importation,
droits de douane et taxes quand vous nous envoyez un produit. Si un Produit
Audeze est couvert par cette garantie et que nous le recevons dans les 30
premiers jours de la Période de garantie, alors nous vous rembourserons les frais
d’expédition.
Si vous nous envoyez un Produit Audeze non couvert par cette garantie, les
coûts d’expédition seront à votre charge. Si vous êtes en dehors des États-Unis
et que vous avez acheté ce produit directement auprès d’Audeze, vous devez
réclamer votre service/réparation sous garantie auprès d’Audeze et non auprès
d’un distributeur ou revendeur étranger.
Déclaration d’admissibilité à la garantie : pour être admissible aux services
couverts par cette garantie, vous devez inclure avec le(s) produit(s) à réparer un
acte de vente valable émis par un détaillant Audeze autorisé et comprenant les
renseignements suivants :

Remplacements sous garantie : Audeze s’efforce d’améliorer la performance
de ses produits et se réserve par conséquent le droit de modifier ses
conceptions/caractéristiques techniques/matériaux à tout moment et sans
préavis. Audeze peut, à sa discrétion, choisir de remplacer intégralement le
Produit Audeze par un produit neuf ou remis à neuf en usine. Dans le cas de
l’obsolescence d’un produit, un remplacement convenable sera sélectionné
sur la base des caractéristiques, de l’utilisation prévue (telle que déterminée
par Audeze) et du prix de détail du Produit Audeze original.
Produit : tous les remplacements sous garantie sont garantis pendant 90 jours
ou jusqu’à la fin de la Période de garantie du Produit Audeze original, la
période la plus longue étant retenue. Audeze ne fournit aucun remplacement
par avance pour les produits Audeze.
Autorité responsable de la détermination : Audeze sera l’autorité finale
responsable de la détermination pour toutes les réclamations potentielles de
réparation et/ou de remplacement en vertu de la garantie.
Pour réclamer un service/réparation sous garantie :
A) Si vous habitez aux États-Unis et que vous avez acheté votre produit
directement sur Audeze.com, envoyez un e-mail à [email protected].
B) Si vous habitez aux États-Unis et que vous avez acheté votre produit
auprès d’un revendeur Audeze autorisé, contactez votre revendeur ou

C) Si vous êtes un client international et que vous avez acheté votre produit
auprès d’un revendeur local, contactez votre revendeur ou le distributeur
pour réclamer votre service/réparation sous garantie.
D) Si vous êtes un client international et que vous avez acheté votre produit

produit expédié à Audeze pour réparation se fera à charge du client.
Vous aurez besoin du numéro de série de votre produit et d’une preuve
