YOUR“CODEHOPPING“TRANSMITTERS
The transmitters included with your new security system use the most advanced
and secure form of radio frequency transmission available on any current automo-
tive security system. Some of today’s sophisticated auto thieves use a device
known as a code grabber, which will receive and store the signal from your key-
chain transmitter and re-transmit at a later time to disarm your system.
Your Keeloq Code Hopping transmitters will change their signal every time the
button is pressed, so when a thief grabs then re-transmits your signal, the alarm
system will not respond.
If your transmitter button is pressed more than fifty times while it is out of range of
the vehicle (children playing with your keys), the transmitter will not operate when
you return to the vehicle, and will need to be re-aligned to the receiver. To do this,
simply press button 1, (lock), two times within a one second time period. The
system will now respond to that transmitter each time a button is pressed.
NOTE:This system is custom configurable and can be set up to
operate with a number of options controlled from any transmit-
ter button or button combination. For reference, we will describe
operation assuming that your system is programmed for sepa-
rate lock and unlock buttons. Also reference will be made to the
icons as shown on the buttons of the transmitter to the left.
NOTE: Your system has the option of using a siren, the vehicle
horn, or both for the sounding device. Where the siren is refer-
enced below, the horn or both may in fact chirp, or beep.
ARMINGTHE SYSTEM-ACTIVE
1. Turn off the engine, exit the vehicle, and close all doors, hood lid and trunk lid.
2. Press and release Lock/Arm button on the keychain transmitter.
The dash mounted LED begins to flash slowly.
Parking Lights flash one time.
Siren sounds one chirp.
If the siren/horn sounds 3 chirps, then you have left a door, trunk, or hood
lid ajar. Simply close the opened entry point to provide full protection. If
the siren "chirped" three times, sometime after arming, the exclusive
delayed dome light learn circuit has been programmed and the system
detected a open entry point after the learned delay expired. Again, clos-
ing the hood, trunk, or doors will correct the problem and you do not need
to disarm the system to make the correction. If the siren/horn did not
sound when arming, then the chirps have been turned off and you should
refer to the section titled "ELIMINATING THE ARM/DISARM CHIRPS" in
this manual.
Doors Lock - Optional
NOTE: If the optional Headlamp illumination feature has been added, and has
been selected for operation when arming, as an added convenience, the
system will turn on the headlights when the system is armed.

SILENT ARMING - ACTIVE (Feature must be activated during programming)
During step 2 above, hold the transmitter button for 2 seconds then release.
The unit will arm without the chirps for this one lock cycle.
ARMINGTHE SYSTEM-PASSIVE(AUTOMATIC)
(Must be activated during programming)
1. Turn off the engine, exit the vehicle and close and lock all doors, hood lid and
trunk lid.
The dash mounted LED begins to flash rapidly, indicating 30 second passive
arming has begun.
2. Opening any protected entry point during the 30 second passive arming cycle
will immediately suspend automatic arming and the 30 second passive arming
cycle will restart when all doors are closed. At the end of the passive arming
cycle;
The dash mounted LED begins to flash slowly.
Parking Lights flash one time.
Siren sounds one chirp
If the siren did not sound when arming, then the chirps have been turned off and
you should refer to the section titled “ELIMINATINGTHEARM / DISARM CHIRPS“
in this manual.
Doors Lock - Optional
Door locking during passive arming is a selectable feature. The alarm can be
programmed to allow the doors to lock only when arming using the keychain
transmitter and they will not automatically lock during passive arming.
PROTECTIONWHILE THESYSTEM ISARMED
Opening any protected door, hood or trunk lid will cause the alarm to immedi-
ately sound. The alarm will continue to sound for 30 seconds, then stop and
continue to monitor all protected entry points. If the thief left a door opened, the
alarm will sound for six 30 second cycles, remain armed and ignore that triggered
zone.\
Whenever the system is armed, the dash mounted LED indicator will slowly
flash. This serves as a visual deterrent to the potential thief. The LED is a very low
current bulb and will not cause the vehicle’s battery to drain, even when left unat-
tended for extended periods.
Whenever the system is triggered, the vehicle’s parking lights will flash for the
full 30 second alarm cycle, attracting visual attention to the vehicle.
Optional - Whenever the system is armed, the vehicle’s starting circuit will be
bypassed. If the thief should choose to ignore the siren, the vehicle can not be
started.

Any mild impact to the vehicle’s glass will cause the alarm to sound a short
series of warning tones.
Any strong impact to the vehicle’s glass will cause the alarm to trigger for the full
30 second alarm cycle.
NOTE: If the optional interior illumination circuit was installed, the interior light will
flash as well for the full 30 second alarm cycle.
DISARMINGTHESYSTEM
Asyouapproachthevehicle,pressandreleasetheDisarmbuttononthekeychaintransmitter.
Theparkinglightswillflash twotimes, thesirenwillchirptwice, andthedashmountedLED
will turn off.
Ifyouhave theoptionaldoor lock/unlockcircuitinstalled, thedoorswill unlock. Ifyouhave
theoptionalentryilluminationcircuit installed,the interiorlightwill turnon for30secondsor
untiltheignition keyisswitched on.
NOTE: Ifthepassivearmingmodewasselectedattimeofinstallation,thedashmountedLED
willstart flashingrapidlyindicatingthatthesystemisrearming. Openingany doorwill
suspendthe automaticarming.
Ifthe parkinglightsflashedthreetimes,andthesirenchirps fourtimes,thisindicatesthatthe
alarm system was triggered during your absence. Before turning on the ignition key,
examinethedash mounted LED'sflashpattern. The numberofflashes identifies thetrig-
geredzone. Foradditionalinformation,refertoINTRUSIONWARNINGSIGNALSfoundlater
inthismanual.
Ifthesirendid not soundupondisarm, then the chirpshavebeen turned off. Refer tothe
sectiontitledELIMINATINGTHEARM/DISARMCHIRPS.
NOTE: If the optional 2 step door unlock circuit is installed, when the unlock transmitter
button is activated, the drivers door only will unlock, pressing the unlock button a
second time will cause all doors to unlock. If your transmitter has a sperate lock
unlockbuttons,pressingtheunlockbuttonanytimeafterthefirstunlockcommandwill
causeallthe vehicledoorsto unlock.
SILENT DISARMING (Feature must be activated during programming)
During step 1 above, hold the transmitter button for 2 seconds then release.
The unit will arm without the chirps for this one lock cycle.
WHILETHESYSTEMISSOUNDING
If during a triggered state, you wish to shut off the siren without disarming your security
system,simplypressandrelease anytransmitter buttonotherthan thedisarm button.This
actionwillturn off thesirenyet leavethevehicle fully armedandprotected. Thisfeatureis
particularlyusefulifyouareawareof childrenplaying nearyourvehiclethatmayaccidently
triggeryoursecurity system. Inthiscase you cancancelthesiren sounding.
INTRUSIONWARNINGSIGNAL
This systemwillinform youifan intrusionattempt hasoccurredwhile youwereaway from
thevehicle. Upon disarm,the sirenwill chirp4 timesand theparking lightswill flash3 times.

Enterthevehicle andbeforeturning ontheignition switch,observethe LEDflashpattern.
IftheLED flashes one time...pause,onetime...pause etc., thenanintrusion attempt was
madebyimpactorastrongvibration thatthe shocksensordetected. Checkthevehicle for
possibledamageto theglass orbodypanels.
IftheLEDflashestwo times...pause,twotimes...pause etc.,then anintrusionattempt was
madetoopen thehood,trunk, orbyan accessorytriggering device. Checkthevehicle for
indicationsofforced entry totheseopenings.
IftheLED flashes threetimes...pause,three times...pauseetc.,then an intrusionattempt
wasmadetothe vehicle doors. Check alldoorsforindications of forced entry.
NOTE: TheLED intrusionwarning indicationsare storedin thesystem's memoryand willbe
erasedwhentheignition switch isturnedon.
PUSH-BUTTONLEDRECEIVERVALET/OVERRIDE/SAFETYCONTROLSWITCH
The Push-Button LED switch located in the receiver allows you to temporarily bypass all
alarm functions, eliminating the need to hand your transmitter to parking attendants or
garagemechanics.Whenthe system is in valetmode,all alarm functions are bypassed,
howeverthe remotepanicfeatureandremotedoorlockswillremainoperational.To usethe
valetmode,thesystemmust firstbe disarmedeitherby usingyour keychaintransmitter,or
byactivatingyour personalizedmanual overridecode.
1. Enterthevehicle,andturn theignitionkeytothe onposition.
2. Press and hold the Push-Button switch until the LED turns on solid. The system will
remainin thevaletmode.
3. To return tonormaloperation, press and releasethePush-Button switch any timethe
ignitionis on.
NOTE: Alwaysremembertoreturnthe vehicletothevaletoff position.This willensurethat
thevehicleremainsprotectedatalltimes.
MANUALLYOVERRIDINGYOURSYSTEM:
Using The Receivers Push-Button Override Switch
Your SecuritySystemcan bedisarmedwithout theuseof thekeychaintransmitter.This is
necessary,since youwillneed theabilityto operateyourvehicle ifthetransmitter islostor
its battery fails. If your system has been selected for Valet Switch manual override as
indicatedonthe lastpageof thismanual, tobypassthe alarmsystem;
1. Openthevehicle door.The alarmwill sound.
2. Turntheignition keyto theonposition.
3. Within5seconds,press and releasethepush-button override switch.
Thealarmsystemwill stop sounding andenterthe(bypassed) mode. You cannowstart
andoperate thevehiclenormally.
Typically thisoverride modeisused onlyifthetransmitterhas becomeinoperative.
Programming Your Custom Override Code:
Unlikeoverrideswitches easily found,anddefeated,this securitysystemallowsthe con-
sumer to program a personal override code, offering a higher level of security. To take

advantageof thisoption,programmablefeature#10mustbeselectedfortheCustomCode
Option. Consultyourinstallationcenterforprogrammingdetails.Thesystem comesfromthe
factorywith apre-programmed overridecodeof11.Tochangethisdefaultoverridecode,do
thefollowing:
1. Disarm the system by use of the transmitter, or by use of the emergency override
sequence.Turnthe ignitionswitchto theonposition.
2. Within 10 seconds,pressand releasetheReceivers Push-buttonswitch,3 times.
3. Within 10 seconds turn the ignition switch off, on, off, on, off, on.
(Thesirenor horn willbeepand the lightswillflash onetime.)
4. Within10seconds,begintoenteryour chosen10ths digitbypressingandreleasing the
ReceiversPush-buttonswitch from1up to 9times.
5. Within 10 secondsofthe last entered10thsdigit, turn theignitionswitch off thenon.
6. Within 10seconds,begin toenteryour chosenunitsdigitbypressing andreleasingthe
ReceiversPush-buttonswitch from1up to 9times.
7. Finish by turningtheignition switchtothe off position.
Ifthenew codewasaccepted, theunitwill reportbackthe newlyenteredcode, by flashing
theLED, firstindicatingthe10thsdigit,pauseandthentheunitsdigit. Theunit willreport the
new code three times with a one second pause between each code, then the system will
beginarming.IftheLEDflashpattern reportsthe previouslystored code,thenewcodewas
notenteredcorrectly. Pleaserepeatsteps 1through7 above consideringthefollowing.
NOTE: Acceptabledigits 10thsor unitsare1through9.Theunitwillnotrecognizea0(Zero),
ornodigit enteredinany place, unitsortenths.
NOTE: If15secondsof inactivity expire, oriftheignition switch is turnedoffformore then
5 seconds during any of the above steps, the unit will revert back to the last
successfully stored code.
Custom Code Programming Example:
To Change the code from the factory pre-assigned code of 11 to “52” you would do the
following:
1. Disarm the system by use of the transmitter or by use of the emergency override
sequence.
2. Turn the ignitionswitch to theon position.
3. Within 10 seconds,pressand releasetheReceivers Push-buttonswitch,3 times.
4. Within 10 seconds turn the ignition switch off, on, off, on, off, on.
(Thesirenor horn willbeepand the lightswillflash onetime.)
5. Within 10seconds,begin topressand releasetheReceiversPush-buttonswitch toset
thetenthsdigit. (Asper theexample,press andrelease5 timestoset thetenthsdigitto
5).
6. Within10seconds ofthe lastpress ofthe pushbutton,turn theignition switchoff thenon.
7. Within10seconds,beginto pressand releasetheReceivers Push-buttonswitch toset
theunitsdigit.
(Asperthe example, pressandrelease 2 timestoset theunitsdigit to 2).
8. Turn theignitionswitch totheoff position. Immediatelyobservethe LEDflash pattern.
YouwillnotetheLEDflashingfivetimes,pause,andthenflashtwotimes,pause.Thispatternwillbe
repeatedthreetimesindicatingthenewcode(52)hasbeenacceptedandstoredinmemory.
NOTE: Ifafter step7, theLEDflashesacodeotherthanwhatwasjustentered,thisindicates

thatthecodehasnotbeenchanged.Youwill haveto repeatsteps1through7above
beingcertainto notethefollowing:
Acceptabledigits10thsorunits are1through9.The unitwill notrecognizea 0(Zero), orno
digitenteredin anyplace,units ortenths.
NOTE: If15secondsofinactivityexpire,oriftheignitionswitchisturnedoffformorethen5seconds
duringanyoftheabovesteps,theunitwillrevertbacktothelastsuccessfullystoredcode.
MANUALLYOVERRIDINGYOURSYSTEM:
USINGTHECUSTOMCODEOVERRIDE
Assumingtheoverride code programmedhasnot been changedandthe default override
codeof11isin the system'smemory.
1) Enterthe vehicle andturn the ignitionswitch to theonposition.
NOTE:The sirenwill sound.
2) Within5 seconds, pressandrelease theReceiversPush-button switch1time.
3) Within5 seconds, turntheignitionswitch off thenon.
4) Within5 seconds, pressandrelease theReceiversPush-button switch1time.
5) Turnthe ignition switch offthenon and startthevehicle.
NOTE: Ifyouhave changedtheprogrammed override codethensubstitute yournewcode
tenths for step 2 above, and units for step 5 above.
ELIMINATINGTHE NORMAL ARM/DISARMCHIRPS
You canselectivelyeliminate the normalarmand disarm chirpsby holding thetransmitter
buttonslightlylongerwhen arming or disarming.Thiswillprevent the siren chirpsforone
armordisarmcycle. Ifyou findthisinconvenientandwish toeliminate thesechirpsperma-
nently,
1. Turn the ignitionswitch'on" then 'off".
2. Within 10 seconds of turning off the ignition, press and release the Receivers Push-
buttonswitch3 times.
3. If the chirpswereon before youstarted,the siren willemit2 short chirpsindicatingthat
the chirps are now off. If the chirps were off before you started, the siren will emit one
shortchirpindicating that the chirpsarenow on.
NOTE: If the vehicle battery is disconnected then reconnected, the unit will return to the
defaultsetting ofchirps on. Repeatthe aboveprocedure toeliminatethearm/disarm
chirps.
REMOTEPANICOPERATION
TheLockorUnlockbutton onyourkeychaintransmitteralso functionsasapanicswitch for
useinemergency situations.Touseremote panic,
1. Press and hold the Lock or Unlock button on the keychain transmitter for 3 or more
seconds.The alarmwill immediatelysound.
2.To stopthealarm,pressand holdthe LockorUnlock buttonon thetransmitteragainfor3
seconds. Ifthebuttonisnot pressed,the alarmwillautomatically stopafter 30seconds.
Also if any transmitter button other than the Lock or Unlock button is pressed and
released, the Panic mode will be turned off immediately. The normal function of this
transmitterbuttonwillbesuspended duringthe Panicsoundingperiod.

NOTE: Whilein thePanicmode,pressingandreleasingthe Lock,or theUnlock buttonswill,
if the option is installed, lock and unlock the doors respectively. While in the panic
mode,anytimetheunlock button is pressed, thepanicfeature will continue for the
allotted 30 seconds, however, the security system will be disarmed allowing the
vehicletostart.
PUSHBUTTONLEDRECEIVERSAFETYCONTROLSWITCH
ThePushButton LED controlswitchallows you totemporarilydisable the remotestarting
functionof thesystem.Thisrecommendedwheneverthevehicle isbeing serviced. Toplace
thesystemin theservicemode:
1)Withthe systemdisarmed/unlocked,and theignitionswitch off pressandhold the
PushButton,found onthewindsheild receiver, in.
2) Turn the ignition switch on, off, on, off, on, off.
3)TheLEDbegins to flashtwoshort flashes followed byonelong flashes and continues
thispatternuntilreturnedto normalmode ofoperation.
Thisputstheunitinto theR/SOverridemodeindicating thattheremotestartis inthe
servicemodeand will notstartfrom RF oranyotherinput Posseorotherwise.
ToExit R/SOverrideMode
1)Withthe systemdisarmed, PressandHold thePushButton,foundon thewindsheild
receiver, in.
2) Turn the ignition switch on, off, on, off, on, off.
3)TheLED turnsoffindicating thatthe R/Sunitis fullyfunctionalone again.
TURBO TIMER MODE
This system provides a means to cool down the vehicles turbo charger, if so equipped, by
allowing the vehicle to continue to run for a prescribed period of time every time the vehicle's
engine is turned off. This feature requires the system to be set up for turbo timer during
installation. Consult with your installation center to be certain this feature was activated and
how long the vehicle will continue to run, 3, 5, or 10 minutes after the ignition switch is turned
off.
To activate the turbo timer:
Anytime the ignition key is in the on position for more than 15 seconds:
1) Place the gear selector in park.
2) Set the parking, (hand), brake.
3) Be certain your foot is off the brake pedal.
4) Press the receiver's program/Push-Button switch 2 times within 5 seconds.
The parking lights will flash two times indicating the mode was successfully entered.
If your parking lights flashed four times, this indicates the turbo mode was on and is now
turned off.
With the turbo timer mode selected on, after you've arrived at your destination, while the
engine is still running, set the parking brake, pause 2 seconds, then turn the ignition switch
to the off position. The engine will continue to run the allotted time according to the selection
during installation.
If you do not want the vehicle to continue to run for one cycle, simply step on the vehicle's
brake, or release the parking brake, or activate the transmitter's start button two times in
succession. Any of these will cause the engine to turn off.

REMOTESTARTINGTHEVEHICLE
TheunitWILL NOTstartthe vehicle ifanyone ofthefollowing conditionsexists:
1.TheVehicleHoodIsOpened.
2.TheGearSelector IsInAnyGearOtherThen Park.
3.The BrakeIsDepressed.
4. The System is in the Remote Start Override mode
WARNING! Becertainthat thevehicleis outdoorsbefore usingthisor anyremotevehicle
startingdevice. Arunningengineproducesdangerouscarbonmonoxidefumes
whichcanbe harmfulorfatal ifprolongedexposure occurs. DONOTremote
startthevehicle if it isgaraged.
To Remote Start The Vehicle:
Press and release the trunk/key button of your keychain transmitter two times within 2
seconds.Thevehicle willstart andremainrunning forthepre-programmed 5,10, 15,or20
minutes. As a visual indication, the parking lights will flash or turn on depending on the
programmingsetupbyyour installationcenter.
When you arrive at your vehicle, disarm the alarm system by pressing and releasing the
Disarmbutton ofyour keychaintransmitter. Enterthevehicleandturntheignitionkeytothe
onposition.
NOTE: This system has the ability to be configured to a single press start if you so desire.
Please check with your installation center if your system was changed from the default safe
start setting of two press start or if you wish to change your configuration.
CAUTION! Do not turn the key to the start position. This will cause the starter motor to
engagewith thealready runningenginewhichcouldresultindamage. Stepon
thebrakepedaltodisengage theremotestart unit.The vehiclewillcontinue to
run but now on it's own power.
NOTE: Theengine willstoprunningbeforetheexpirationofthepre-programmedruntimer if
youcompleteany of thefollowing:
1. Press and release trunk/key button of your keychain transmitter two times within 2
seconds.
2.Depressthebrakepedal.
3.Open thehood.
4.Place thesystem inRemote StartOverride Mode.
5.Race theengine toabove4000RPM.
OPERATINGONAUTOMATICSTARTUPTIMERMODE
Thisunithas the abilitytoautomatically start thevehicleevery 2or4 hours overa48 hour
period.Thisfeature is especiallyusefulin coldclimateswhere theonlymeans to keepthe
engineandengine fluidswarmis toperiodicallystart theengine.
WARNING! Be certainthatthe vehicle isoutdoorsbefore usingthisor any remotevehicle
startingdevice. Arunningengineproducesdangerous carbonmonoxidefumes
whichcanbe harmful orfatalif prolonged exposureoccurs. DONOT remote
startthevehicle if it isgaraged.

TOBEGINTHEAUTOMATICSTARTUPTIMER
1. Turntheignition key onthenoff.
2. Within10 seconds,activate theRFstartcommandtwotimes.(Pushthetrunk/keybutton
ofyourkeychain transmitter4times).
Theparkinglightswillflash andthe sirenwillchirp 4times indicatingthetimedstartmode is
activated.
The vehicle, on a 2 or 4 hour interval basis, will automatically start, run for the pre-pro-

TELEMATICUPGRADE:
This system has the ability to have a telematic upgrade module connected to it.
This is an upgrade that can give you control of certain functions of your vehicle
from a telephone or in some cases a computer interface. Please check with your
installation center for most recent Telematic Upgrades. If you had a Telematic
Upgrade installed, the manual supplied with the upgrade unit will provide a op-
erators manual advising of the features of the system and means available to
control these features of your vehicle.

PROGRAMMED TRANSMITTER NOTIFICATION (PTN)
Every time after Disarm when the ignition key is turned on, the unit's LED will report the
number of transmitters programmed into the system. This safety feature will alert you if
an unauthorized transmitter has been programmed into your vehicle's security system
without your knowledge. Typical from the factory, there will be a 2 flash, pause, repeated
3 times indicating that two transmitters are programmed into the system. If you note
additional flashes, there may heve been an additional transmitter added without your
knowledge or authorization. If you notice a change in the transmitter LED report pattern,
you can correct this by looking up how to erase and reprogram your transmitters found
in the transmitter programming guide. This reprogram operation will erase all unauthorized
or unwanted transmitters.
PROGRAMMING NEWORREPLACEMENTTRANSMITTERS(BANK1)
Transmitter Model Name Is Found On Back Of Transmitter Case
1) Turn the ignition key to the on position.
2) Press and release the valet/programming switch 3 times (Siren Chirps).
3) Press the Lock Button of each transmitter you want programmed until you hear
a chirp from the horn or siren.
4) Turn the ignition switch off.
The above action programs the Lock, Unlock, Start/Trunk, and Option 1 buttons
which are typical for most systems.
For additional channel programming beyond the option 1 button, you can use any
unused button or combination of buttons not in use.
In other words, to access option channel 5, 6, 7, you would do the following:
From step 3 above:
a) Press and release the valet/programming button 4 additional times to get to
channel 5, then Press any unused transmitter button or button combination to
program.
b) From a, press and release the valet/programming button 1 time to get to
channel 6, then press any unused transmitter button or button combination to
program.
c) From b, press and release the valet/programming button 1 time to get to chan-
nel 7, then press any unused transmitter button or button combination to pro-
gram.
Note: Not all systems have channels above 3, check with your installation center
for options your system may or may not have.
Note: Certain systems have the ability to utilize channels 6 and 7 for driver priority

programming. For driver priority, the vehicle must be equipped with this feature,
and the optional feature must be set up and installed by your installation center.
Once this feature is added when the unlock button of transmitter 1 is used, it will
set driver 1 priority and when the unlock button of transmitter 2 is used it will set
driver 2 priority. In this situation, the unlock button can be programmed into two
receiver channels, unlock, channel 2 and driver priority 6 or 7. In no other circum-
stance will the system allow a transmitter button to be programmed into 2 receiver
channels at the same time.
