INSTRUCTIONS
Thank you for choosing an Australian Monitor Installation Series AM-TONE1 tone generator module. The AM-TONE1 generates four
tones. These tones are: Evacuation and Alert Tones, as well as a Bell Tone and a Pre Announce Chime.
The installation of the AM-TONE1 involves access to the inside of the mixer or amplifier. Installation should only be
attempted by a qualified technician. Always turn off AC power and remove the AC power cord before attempting to
access the inside of any Australian Monitor Installation Series mixer or amplifier.
INSTALLATION
Installation into compatible Australian
Monitor Installation Series mixers or
amplifiers is simple. Please follow these
easy illustrations for installation.
OPERATION
The modules can produce four different sounds as follows.
1) “EVAC”: a long continuous repeating tone with a ramped
frequency. Triggered by shorting T1 to Com, the sound will
continue to repeat until the short is released.
2)”Alert”: a short tone burst increasing in volume by 10dB steps
from -50dB to 0dB and repeating at 0dB. Triggered by shorting T2
to Com, the sound will continue to repeat until the short is released.
3) “Chime”: a two note ‘ding-dong’ suitable for paging pre-
announce. Triggered by shorting T3 to Com, it will sound only once
for each time the trigger is activated. Please note: “Chime” must
become completely inactive (see below) before it may be retriggered.
4) “Bell”: a short repeating tone burst with decay and reverb.
Triggered by shorting T4 to Com, the sound will continue to repeat
until the short is released.
The output level may be adjusted by means of trimpot VR1 from
OFF (fully counter clockwise) to Maximum (fully clockwise).
If a Mute module is installed, when any sound is active the output
will be muted.
Note: a sound is active until both the chime has finished
sounding and the trigger is released.
TRIGGER PRIORITY
The triggers are prioritized such that T4 has lowest priority and
T1 has highest priority. If a higher priority trigger is activated whist
a lower priority sound is playing, the sound will finish playing and
then the higher priority sound will take over.
