RS-32 DUAL STAGE PERIMETER SENSOR
INSTALLATION/OPERATION MANUAL
The RS-32 uses a microwave frequency to detect field disturbance within a
contained area. The RS-32 is ideal for detecting a violation into convertibles
and any open space which does not have physical protective barriers. The RS-
32 is also effective with conventional vehicles against intrusion or glass
breakage when a shock sensor fails to trigger. Its unique Pre-Warning circuit
can detect approach to the vehicle before a break-in actually occurs. The RS-
32 can be used as a single stage sensor or a dual stage sensor depending on
the security system to be used with.
The RS-32 is specially designed to work with the AutoPage alarms and paging
systems.
NOTE: AutoPage systems (RF301, RF501, AP5500) provide a dedicated
sensor input (PINK) and Pre-Warning input (BLUE/WHITE). However, only the
main sensor input (PINK) is available on the AP40000DX.

The position of the RS-32 is critical for its optimum performance. The ultra high
frequency wave will penetrate carpet, plastic, glass, wood, or fabric; it will not go
through metals. The RS-32 can be mounted under a console, under a seat, or
under carpet. Careful positioning is required to insure that the RS-32 will not be
stepped on by a passenger.

RED = Connect to constant 12 VOLT source.
BLACK = Connect to vehicle GROUND.
PINK = Main unit trigger. Connect to PINK from an AutoPage alarm.
BLUE = Pre-Warning trigger. Connect to BLUE/WHITE from an AutoPage alarm
(optional).
NOTE: When used with other accessories (e.g., shock sensor) or switches that
share the same negative input of the alarm, an isolation diode (IN4001) must
be added to protect the RS-32. If used with an AutoPage SIS-3, we recommend
two diodes be added to protect both sensors.

1. External Adjustment
Adjust the EXTERNAL (Pre-Warning) first. This is important and will affect the
internal sensitivity adjustment. For more sensitivity adjust the Pre-Warning
potentiometer CLOCKWISE. For less sensitivity adjust the Pre-Warning
potentiometer COUNTER-CLOCKWISE. The external trigger LED (GREEN) will
light each time movement is detected within the field. Allow a minimum of five
(5) seconds between adjustments.
The Pre-Warning will respond with a chirp from the alarm siren each time the
Pre-Warning field is disturbed. If the disturbance continues, the Pre-Warning
will chirp the AutoPage alarm siren up to three (3) times within 15 seconds,
and trigger the alarm immediately after the third chirp. If only one or two
disturbances takes place, and is no longer detected, the RS-32 will reset to
allow its three chirp Pre-Warning feature to continue outside protection. The
reset time is pre-set by the factory at 4 seconds.

After the external field adjustment is made, adjust the interior potentiometer in
the same manner until the desired coverage is achieved. In order to isolate the
interior coverage for easy adjustment, delete the Pre-Warning of the AutoPage
alarm by pressing the arming button on the remote within five (5) seconds after
arming. If a disturbance is detected by the interior protection portion of the RS-
32, the interior LED (RED) will light and the alarm will immediately trigger. After
the interior adjustment is completed, check the exterior field again.
NOTE: If either of the LED’s remains lit after installation, readjust or relocate the
sensor.
WARNING: Although the RS-32 is designed to be stable in its performance, the field disturbance sensors in general tend to have
false alarms.
