The following itemscomprise the FC/WIRELESS-IP:

-G452-006
oEthernet to serial converter, single channel
-A9009-5009
oSRL-CL: LegacyController Cable
Prerequisites for Installation
The FC/WIRELESS-IPrequirestwo software packages to operate:
-WinPlus-IP
oThe main application is WinPlus-IP. FC/WIRELESS-IP is added to the Devices pane of the
WinPlus-IP application and will control the scroll speed of the script.
-DeviceInstaller
oThe configuration application for the G452-006 Ethernet to serial converter is from
Lantronix and is called DeviceInstaller. Itwill be usedto configure the G452-006
(UDS1100) with the following parameters:
▪Baud: 1200
▪Port 10001
Connecting the components
First connectthe G452-006 (UDS1100) to your network. Connectthe included centerpin poweradapter
and plug into mains power. Youwill see the LED illuminate on the unit. On the 25 pin port, connectthe
A9009-5009 LegacyController Cable. On the 9 pin side of the cable,connectthe CON-FC/WIRELESS
wireless receiver. Connectthe included USBpoweradapterto the wirelessreceiver andyou will see the
LED illuminate on the unit.

Configuring the G452-006 (UDS1100)
Download and install DeviceInstallerfromthe Lantronix supportpage:

Instructions for settingthe Baud Rate and IP address portassignmentcan be found in the UDS1100
documentation provided by Lantronix:

Use the Web-Managerto setthe device IP address if required. If a DHCP assignmentis sufficient,
proceed to change the port assignment:
Andlastly, set the correct Baud Rate of 1200 in the serial settings:

NOTE: To confirm the updated Baud Rate, you must exit and re-enter via Web-Manager
Connect the G452-006 to WinPlus-IP
To add the G452-006 Ethernetto Serial adapter(UDS1100) to WinPlus-IP, go to:
DEVICESpane > Click + to Add
From the Discovered Devices window, click “Manually Add Device”:
Select“CON-FC/SERIAL”fromthe drop-down menu:

Complete the NAMEfield, enterthe IP address of the G452-006 (UDS1100), and confirmthe port
assignment (auto-fillsto10001):
Connect the Wireless Controller and Receiver
The wireless transmitterand receiver are the Handyport HPS-120 and the manual can be downloaded
here:

To connectthe Wireless controller to the Receiver, first put a fully charged 9v batteryinto the foot
controller batterytray:
Then turn the unit on by depressingthe powerbutton nearthe antennae of the unit and the switch will
show an ORANGEdot when in the ON position:
The receiverwill confirm the units are paired when the LNK light is illuminated GREEN. The receiverwill
confirm data is beingtransmitted when the OPRlight is flashingRED.
The button actions andscroller sensitivity can be adjustedinthe CONFIGURATION windowwithin the
device’sEDIT window.

Troubleshooting
Here are a list of issues andstepsto resolve them:
-Receiverwill not pair withfoot controller
oCheckbattery
oOpen footcontroller and checktransmitter
▪Re-pairtransmitterand receiverunits (see HandyportHPS-120manual)
-Batteryis dyingquickly
oThe batteryis expected to workfor2 hourscontinuously
oRechargeable batterylife may be shorter
oLong distance between the transmitterandreceiver will reduce batterylife
-Controller is GREEN in WinPlus-IP, but controlleris not working
oThe GREEN indicator in WinPlus-IP only indicates connection to the G452-006
(UDS1100) Ethernetto serial adapter. Checkconnectionfrom the adapterto the
receiverand the connectionbetween the receiverandthe transmitter.
