Chapter 1 Introducing the AVerTV Application
1.1 Launching the AVerTV 6 Application
Run the AVerTV 6 application from the Programs menu.
To run the application, click Start, point to Programs,choose AVerMedia, AVerTV 6,and
then click AVerTV 6. Another way is to double-click the AVerTV 6 program icon “ ”on
the desktop. Or, you can double-click the AVerQuick launcher located at the lower right
corner of the screen.
Note: AVerQuick allows to set the desired default application, which means you can
choose either AVerTV 6 or AVer MediaCenter as the default application when
double clicking AVerQuick icon . To do this, right click AVerQuick, choose
“Setting”, and select the preferred application in the “Application” tab.

1.2 Running the AVerTV 6 application for the first time
If this is your first time running the application, the Setup dialog box will appear to prompt
you to scan for channels.
1. From the Country/Region drop-down list, select your country or region.

2. Click Apply to save the settings.

Using the application in Russia, scanning for channels may be skipped. When the Setup dialog box
appear, simply choose the country Russia and the location—Moscow or St. Petersburg—from the drop-
down list. Then you are able to listen to the programs without scanning channels. Just go to step 7 and
start to use AVerTV. However, if the location you choose is Others, you still need to scan for channels.
Go to step 4.

4. Click New and the Program List dialog box will appear. Type in the desirable name and
click OK.
5. Click Scan. All active channels will be automatically scanned and memorized.

6. To terminate the scanning, click Stop.

7. Click Apply to save the setting and click OK to exit the current dialog box. To abort the
setting, click Cancel.
1.3 The Control Panel
The Control Panel provides button controls for selecting channels, adjusting volume and more. It has a
panel display that shows the current channel number and channel name.

The table below describes the functions of the buttons on the Control Panel.
BUTTON FUNCTION
1 Channel Loop Return to previously accessed channel.
2 Channel Up/ Down
Frequency Tune Up/ Down
CH mode: Move up/down the channel list
FQ mode: Frequency tune up/down
Click on CH to switch between Channel mode (CH) and
Frequency mode (FQ).
3 Mute Turn off the sound.
4 Backward Timeshift mode: Move backward in intervals.
5 Radio Source Switch between FM radio and DVB-T radio. (Only access to
DVB-T Radio Broadcast, not Digital Audio Broadcast system.)
6 Audio Mode Switch between available audio modes.
7 RDS Viewing RDS Information. (It may vary depends on your
device and your living area.)
8 Slider / Playback Speed List Playback mode: Right click on the slider to select playback or
fast forwarding speed.
9 Always on Top Make the Control Panel float over the top of other program
windows.
10 Play List Create a playlist of recorded files to playback.
11 Scheduler Display Scheduler dialog box.
12 Forward / Playback Speed
Switch Timeshift mode: Skip forward in intervals.
Playback mode: Switch to next playback speed level.
13 Previous File Play the previous file in the playlist.

14 Next File Play the next file in the playlist.
15 TimeShift / Pause Performs background recording of the real-time program.
This function lets you view the recorded parts, while at the same
time, recording is in progress. / Freeze the playback temporarily.
16 Stop Stop the playback, recording, TimeShift, etc.
17 Play / Pause Playback recorded video files. / Freeze the playback temporarily.
18 Record Record the current program.

20 Setup Allows you to:
*Autoscan channels.
*Configure the Input Remapping settings.
*Customize record settings.
*Customize the TimeShift function.
21 Program List Display the program list.
22 Time Display / Spectrum
Analyze Display time and spectrum analyze. Click on the time area on the panel to switch between time and spectrum analyze display.
23 Channel Display Display and switch channels. Right click on the channel display
area of the control panel to select channels.
24 Signal Strength Display signal strength.
25 Signal Status /
Repeat Play Status
Real-time mode: Right click on the info icon on the control
panel to switch signal sources.
Playback mode: Right click on the repeat icon on the control
panel to enable the repeat function. The system will
continuously playback the files in the playlist.
26 Mode Display Display the mode in use.
27 Volume Control Increase/decrease the volume level.
28 Numeric Buttons Select channels/programs.
29 Show/ Hide Numeric Panel Toggle between displaying or hiding the Numeric Panel.
1.4 Always on Top
To make the Control Panel float over the top of other program windows, click the Always on
Top button on the Control Panel.
1.5 Minimize the Application
To minimize AVerTV application to the system tray (notification area), click the Setup
button and in the Setup dialog box, click Miscellaneous icon on the left pane. Then
select the To minimize application to the system tray. check box. Or clear the check box to
simply minimize the application to a taskbar button.

If you want to disable the sound when minimize the AVerTV application, just select the Mute
when minimizing to system tray check box.
1.6 Customize Definitions of the Mouse
To re-define the mouse:
1. Click the Setup button and in the Setup dialog box, select Input Setting in the left pane.
Then click on the Mouse icon on the left pane.
2. To re-define a function for a certain button, select Wheel Up, Wheel Down or One-Click and the
desired item from the drop-down list. Then choose a new command from the right pane of the
dialog box. Then click Assign.

3. Click Apply to save the settings.

4. Click Clear All to delete all definitions of the mouse or click Default to revert to the factory
setting.
1.7 Customize Definitions of the Keyboard (Hot Keys)
Note: It is recommended to use an unassigned key to use as your new keys.
You can use the default hot keys or create your own hot keys.
To re-define the shortcut keys:
1. Click the Setup button . In the Setup dialog box, choose the Input Setting, and click the
Keyboard icon on the left pane.
2. Choose the signal status from the Category drop-down list.
3. Choose a command that you want to specify a new hot keys.
4. Assign hotkey combination to the command that you use most often and then click Assign. Or you
can click Remove to delete hotkeys.

5. Click Default if you want to revert to the factory setting.
6. Click Apply to save settings or click Cancel to abort without settings.
Note: It is recommended to use an unassigned key to use as your new keys.
1.8 Changing the User Interface Attributes
Click the Setup button and in the Setup dialog box, click the Personalise icon on the left
pane. On this page, you can customize the curtain effect, LCD speed and the control panel
skin.

1. Click the Setup button and in the Setup dialog box, click on the Personalise icon on the left
pane.
2. In this page, you can customize menu effect (Fade In/Fade Out), set the speed of marquee (LCD
Speed), and change the appearance of the control panel (Skins).
3. Click Apply to save settings or click Cancel to abort without settings.
1.9 Configurations Import and Export
After setting up the device, all configurations can be saved as a file (.adi). Thus, resetting-up
is unnecessary unless the adi. file has been removed.
1. To export the file of all configurations, press Export button, and the Save As Dialog will appear
for users to select the saving path.
2. To import the saved file of all configurations, press Import button, and the Open Dialog will
appear for users to select the saved files.

3. Click Apply to save settings or click Cancel to abort without settings.
1.10 Graphic Equalizing
The graphic equalizer function enables users to have best audio quality of the chosen
music style.
1. Click Program List button on the control panel and then click Individual Channel
Setting button .
2. When a dialog box appears, select Graphic Equalizer tab.

3. Select Enable Graphic Equalizer check box to enable the function.
4. Then choose the desired music style from the drop-down list.
5. If you just want to adjust sound effects of one specific channel, select Configure the settings
only for single channel and repeat step 3 and step 4.
6. To apply the converted settings to all channels, click Apply All button .

7. Click Default button if you want to revert the factory settings.
1.11 System Settings
In the System settings page, you are able to modify the audio mode based on the radio system
you use.
1. Click Program List button on the control panel and then click Individual Channel
Setting button .
2. When a dialog box appears, select System tab.

3. Choose the preferred Audio Mode from the drop-down list. (The items in the drop-down menu
of Audio Mode may differ based on the selected Audio Standard.)
4. To apply the converted settings to all channels, click Apply All button .
5. Click Default button if you want to revert the factory settings.

Chapter 2 Listening to the FM Radio
2.1 How to Auto Scan FM Radio Channels
If this is your first time to use FM radio, perform auto scan to search and memorize active FM
radio stations in your area.
To auto scan FM radio stations:
1. Click the Setup button and in the Setup dialog box, select an available AVerMedia
device in the left pane. Then select FM Radio.
2. Click New and the Program List dialog box will appear. Type in the desirable name and
click OK.
Note: For Russian users, clicking New to create a program list before scanning is a prerequisite
step.
3. Click Scan. All active channels will be automatically scanned and memorized.
4. To terminate the scanning, click Stop.
5. Click Apply to save the setting and click OK to exit the current dialog box. To abort the
setting, click Cancel.
Note: The application comes with a built-in FM frequency table for the country Russia. To use the
Russian frequency table, simply select Moscow or St. Petersburg from the Group drop-down list.

2.2 Manually Scanning Specific FM Channels
Instead of scanning all channels, you can choose to manually scan one or a few channels only.
To do this, follow these procedures.
To manually rescan specific FM radio channels:
1. Click the Setup button and in the Setup dialog box, click FM Radio icon on the
left pane.
2. Enter the channel frequency that you want to start scanning in the text box.
3. Select 0.01 MHz, 0.05MHz or 0.1MHz as your tuning increment.
4. Click to scan upward or to scan downward from the selected channel
frequency. The scanning will stop when the application finds the closest ACTIVE FM
frequency.
5. Click the Modify button if you’d like to keep the newly scanned frequency.
2.3 Selecting a Channel
To select a channel:
1. Click to open the Numeric Panel.
‧ Click on the Numeric buttons to select a channel.
‧ Click the Channel Up/Down button repeatedly until reaching your desired channel.
‧ Right click on the channel name on the info display
area, the pop-up channel list will appear for users to
select a channel.
OR,
2. Use the numeric keys on your keyboard to select a channel.

2.4 Adjusting Volume
On the Control Panel, click and drag your mouse over the Volume meter to
increase or decrease the volume level. You can also press the +/ –keys on the
numeric keypad to adjust the volume.
OR,
1. Right click on the TV monitor. When a pop-up menu appears, select Individual
Channel Setting. Or click Program List button on the control panel and then
click Individual Channel Setting button .
2. When a dialog box appears, select Audio tab.
3. Use and to adjust the system volume or the device volume.

4. If you just want to adjust individual volume level, select Configure the settings only
for single channel and repeat step 3 to increase or decrease volume.
5. To apply the converted settings to all channels, click Apply All button .
6. Click Default button if you want to revert the factory settings.
To see the Spectrum Analyze:
Right click on the Info Display Area to switch to Spectrum Analyze display mode.

2.5 Skipping Unwanted Channels
If you want to exclude undesirable channels from your FM channel list, do the following:
1. Click the Setup button and in the Setup dialog box, click FM Radio icon on the
left pane.
2. In the Program column, click the unwanted channel. The check mark will be removed,
indicating that the channel will be excluded from your channel list and that you won’t
be able to access and hear them through the Channel Up/Down button.
2.6 Adding a Radio Frequency
If the desired channel cannot be found through scanning, follow the instructions below.
1. Click the Setup button and in the Setup
dialog box, click FM Radio icon on the left
pane.
2. Specify the correct frequency in the text box
(as shown at right) and click Save.
2.7 Assigning a Radio Frequency
If you already know the radio frequency of the desired channel, follow the instructions below.
1. Click to open the Numeric Panel (as shown at right).
2. Click the icon on the Numeric buttons to switch from CH (Channel)
mode to FQ (Frequency) mode, shown as .
‧ Then click on the numeric buttons to get your desired radio frequency numbers.
‧ Use the numeric keys on your keyboard to specify the desired radio frequency
numbers.
‧ Use the numeric keys on the remote control to get your desired radio frequency
numbers.
Note: Under FQ mode, there are three ways to key in the frequency numbers. For instance, to get
the frequency of 91.7 MHz, simply key in 91.7, 917 or 9170.

Under FQ mode, if you click Frequency Up/Down buttons on the Control Panel, the radio
frequency will increase or decrease (0.01 MHz, 0.05MHz or 0.1MHz) in intervals based on the
tuning increment you select. (To select the tuning increment, please refer to Manually
Scanning Specific FM Channels)
2.8 Modifying a Radio Name
You can manually modify any exiting FM radio channel.
1. Click the Setup button and in the Setup dialog box, click FM Radio icon on the
left pane.
2. Double click on Name column of the existing FM channel which you want to modify.
3. Enter the name or description you want in the provided text box and then press Enter.
4. To modify more channels, repeat step 2 to 3.
5. Click Apply to save the setting and click OK to exit the current dialog box.
2.9 Adding and Deleting Program Lists
Selecting a program list allows you to switch between the channels of the selected program
list only when pressing the Channel Up/Down button. If you want to add or delete an FM
channel group, do the following:
To add a new program list:
1. Click the Setup button and in the Setup dialog box, click FM Radio icon on the
left pane.
2. Click New and the Program List dialog box appears. Type in a program name and
click OK.
3. Now you can start to scan FM radio channels and manage the scanned FM data for this
new program list. For more information, refer to How to Auto Scan FM Radio
Channels.
4. To add more program lists, repeat steps 2 to 3.
To delete a program list:
1. Click the Setup button and in the Setup dialog box, click FM Radio icon on the
left pane.
2. From the drop-down list, select the name of the program list that you want to remove.
3. Click Delete to remove the selected program list.
2.10 Creating Channel Groups
To add a new channel group:
1. Click the Program List button on the control panel.

2. Click the Setup button .
3. When a dialog box appears, click New button .
4. Specify the desired name in the text box.

5. Hold down Shift or Ctrl key and click the channels from the list to select your own channel line up.
Then, click to add your selection to the desired group. Or drag the selected channels and drop
them to the desired group.
6. Click Save to save the settings or click Cancel to abort without saving. If you want to
delete the unwanted group, simply click Delete
2.11 Customize Audio Record Settings
To customize the record settings, please do the following.
1. Click the Setup button and in the Setup dialog box, select an available Avermedia
device in the left pane, and choose FM Radio.
2. Then select Record Format. You can choose default format as your audio file format.
Or, you can click New to create your own file format.

4. Enter the desired format name or description in the Format Name text box.
5. Click Next. In the Video dialog box, select the desired audio format.
