INSTALLATION
PRECAUTIONS
•
Carefully choose the mounting location so normal driving is not hindered.
•
Avoid installing the unit where it would be subject to high temperatures (direct sunlight or hot air from
the heater) or where it would be subject to dust, dirt or excessive vibration.
•
Only use mounting hardware supplied for a safe and secure installation.
•
Remove the front panel before installing the unit.
Mountingangleadjustment
Adjust the mounting angle to less than 20°.

Note: Keep the release key in a safe place as you may need it in future to remove the unit from the car.
Detaching and attaching the front panel
The front panel of this unit can be detached in order to prevent theft.
FOLDING DOWN AND DETACHING/ATTACHING THE FRONT PANEL
Before detaching the front panel, be sure to press the button (1) OFF first.
Then press the button (16), to fully open the front panel. Release the panel by pulling it towards you
as illustrated.
•
Do not exert unnecessary pressure on the front panel when attaching it.
•
Please use the supplied case when the front panel isremoved.
CLEANING THE CONNECTOR
Theunitmaynotfunctionproperlyiftheconnectorbetween
the unit and the front panel is contaminated with dirt. In
order to prevent this from happening, detach the front panel
by pressing the button and clean the connector from
time to time.
Cleantheconnectorwithacottonswabtogetherwithcontact
cleaner as illustrated. Be sure to carefully clean pin by pin
and make sure not to damage the connecting points.

FUSE REPLACEMENT
Ifa fuse blows, check all power connections andreplacethe fuse. If the fuse blows again, check for an
electronic or wiring fault. In this case, consult your nearest service centre.
Warning
Use the specified amperage fuse for each lead. Use of a higher amperage fuse may cause serious
damage and void the warranty.

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
1.
POWER
Press “PWR” (1) to manually turn on or off. Unit will automatically turn off when the vehicle’s key is
removed or accessories is in off position.
2.
VOLUME
Rotate the Volume Knob (2) left or right to adjust to the desired volume.
3.
SOURCESELECT
Press “MODE” (9) to select- Tuner, Disc, BT, Aux, USB or Line In.
4.
SOUNDCONTROL
Press Volume Knob (2) to enter sound control functions- Bass, Treble, Balance, Fader.
Rotate knob to adjust.

EXTRAFUNCTIONS
EQ Preset
Press and hold volume knob (2) until “Eq” displays. Rotate knob to select- Flat, Classical, Rock, Pop.
Loudness
Press volume knob again to display “LOUD”. Select On or OFF. This will improve sound when listening
at lower volumes. Loudness can also be turned on or off by pressing button “7 / LD” (7).
Stereo/Mono
Press again to display “ST”. Select MONO or ST (Stereo) sound by rotating the knob.
Select Mono if FM radio becomes noisy.
Local/Distance
Press volume knob again to display “LOC”. Select On or OFF (Distance) by rotating the knob.
When radio signal is strong select On; when signal is weak select off (distance).
This function can also be turned on or off by pressing “9 / LOC” (6).
6.
TUNERFUNCTIONS
Band Select
Press “BAND” (10) to select tuner groups- FM1, FM2, FM3, AM1, AM2.
ManualTuning
Press l◄◄ or ►►l to select desired station. Press and hold desired Preset number to save.
AutoTuning
Press and hold l◄◄ or ►►l until “Search” is displayed. The unit will find the next station with good
signal. Press and hold desired Preset number to save.
AutomaticScan
By pressing “SCAN” (13) the unit will scan for the next station and pauses for 5 seconds to allow you to
store the station into a preset before scanning for the next station.
Auto Store
Press and hold “AS/PS” (12) for more than 3 seconds and the unit will automatically store scanned stations
in that band. Note that this will replace stations already stored in pre-sets.
Preset Scan
Press and hold “AS/PS” (12) for more than 1 and less than 3 seconds and the unit will go to each preset in
that band for 5 seconds each. A good way to hear what is being broadcast on that band.
Press “AS/PS” when the desire station is found.
7.
TIME ADJUSTMENT
Press “#/DISP” (8) to display time, then press and hold until the hours flash. Turn the volume knob left or
right to adjust the hour. Press “#/DISP” again and the minutes will flash. Turn the volume knob left or right
to adjust the minutes. After 5 seconds the display will revert to normal.
Note: Time will display for only 6 seconds after the “#/DISP” button is pressed.

HOW TO SELECT MP3/WMA FILES
Searching by Track:
•Press “AS/PS”, then search track is activated.
•Turn “VOL” knob to left or right, select first digit desired.
•Press “VOL” knob, then the first digit is fixed and second digit will flash.
•Turn “VOL” knob to left or right, select 2nd 3rd respectively.
•Press “BAND/ENT”, the song selected will start.
Searching by Character:
•Press “AS/PS” twice, then character search mode is activated.
•Turn “VOL” knob to left or right to select the desired letter.
•Press “VOL” knob to repeat steps above for 2nd 3rd character.
•The songs with the same character that you selected will display.
•Turn “VOL” knob to left or right to select the desired song.
•Press “BAND/ENT”, then the song selected will start.
Searching by File Name:
•Press “AS/PS” 3 times, then folder search is activated.
•Turn “VOL” knob to left or right to select the desired folder.
•Press “BAND/ENT”, then the folder is fixed and the first file will play.
Connecting it to Portable MP3 Player
USB PORT
The device is equipped with a USB interface. MP3 or WMA files stored on these media can be played.
Plug your USB storage medium into the USB port.
The player automatically switches to the input used and starts playback.
See the section on operations common for audio files how to control USB or memory card playback.
Note:
1.
Due to the great variety of devices with USB interfaces thatsometimes have manufacturer-specific functions, we
cannot guarantee that all media will be recognised and that that all operational functions will be available with this
device.
2.
You cannot operate USB hard drives on thedevice.
FRONT AUX IN/REAR RCA-IN
An external audio source (e.g. portable MP3 player) can be connected to the AUX IN socket to be played back by
the vehicle loudspeakers. Press the MODE button to select the AUX IN mode.
•Connect the AUX IN socket or rear RCA-IN with the audio output of the external device.
NOTE
Use only one AUX IN connection at a time. Front and rear inputs will not function simultaneously.

HOW TO USE BLUETOOTH IN YOUR CAR AUDIO
Connecting the telephone to the device
1.
Activate the Bluetooth function on your mobile phone and search for Bluetooth devices.After a successful
search the entry CarBT appears for the device in the display of the mobile phone.
2.
Select this entry for the connection. For the subsequent password request enter the password 1234 for the device.
You may need to confirm the connection structure once more.
3.
AfterasuccessfulcouplingCONNOKappearsbrieflyonthedevice’sdisplayandthegreenLEDonthemicrophoneunit
lightsup.
Note: The microphone mustfirst be connected to use the Bluetooth function.
Callaccept/end
With an incoming call you hear the call signal via your mobile phone. The device will display the incoming number.
1.
Accept an incoming call by pressing the “ ” button.
•
During the call press “ ” button for a short time topause the call (each party will hear the music), and then press
“ ” button to resume normal call.
•
During the call press “ ” button for a longer time. The call automatically transfers tothe mobile phone and BT
is disconnected temporarily. Press “ ” button for a longer time again.
The Car Radio BT with mobile phone will automatically connect.
2.
End the call by pressing the “ ” button.
Rejecting a call
With an incoming call press the “ ” button to reject the call.
To call
1.
Press the “ ” button. DIAL appears in the display.
2.
With the number buttons, enter the telephone number to be called.
Note: Press “ ” button for a short time to delete previous digit.Press “ ” button for a longer time to exit all.
3.
Press the “ ” button again. The number is dialled and CALLING appears in the display.
Redial
1.
Hold down the “ ” button for approx. 2 seconds.
–
Ifnocallnumberwasselected previously viathenumberbuttons,thelast selectedmobile phonecallnumberisdialled.
–
If a call number was selected previously via the number buttons, this call number isdialled.
Callerlists
1.
Press the PHONE button. CALL LIST appears in thedisplay
2.
Press the PHONE button again. IN CALL appears in thedisplay.
3.
Turn the multi controller to select between the followingdisplays:
–
IN CALL: Shows the last 20 incoming calls.
–
OUT CALL: Shows the last 20 outgoing calls.
4.
Press the PHONE button again. READING appears in the display and subsequently shows the last incoming
(IN CALL) and/or dialled (OUT CALL) call number.
5.
Turn the multi controller to showthe last 20 incoming and/or dialled numbers one after the other.
6.
Press the “ ” button to select the dialled number.
7.
Press the “ ” button to end redialling and exit the caller list.
Telephone bookfunction
You can transfer up to20 contacts (Telephone book entries) from the connected mobile phone to the device and thusdial
and call the contact from the device.
Notice:
•
Details forthetransferenceof the contactvia Bluetooth canbeobtainedfromthe operatinginstructionsof your mobile
phone.
•
Each transfered contact isfiledin thememory slot PB01. The contacts that havealreadybeen transfered areautomati-
cally filed one memory slot further (PB02, etc).
1.
Press the PHONE button on the device. CALL LIST appears in the display
2.
Turn the multi controller to select the display PHBOOK.
3.
Pressthe PHONEbuttonagain.READINGappears in the display. Subsequently PB01 appearsand the name and
call number of the first memory slot is shown.
4.
Turn the multi controller to select additional telephone book entries.
5.
Press the “ ” button to select the dialed number.
6.
Press the “ ” button to end the call and exit the telephone book function.
Deleting the caller lists and telephone bookentries
Press and hold the “ ”button until RESET appears in the display. The Bluetooth connection to the mobile phone is
severed and all telephone book entries and caller lists on the device are deleted.

Audio streaming (A2DP)
ThedeviceusestheA2DPprofile(AdvancedAudio Distribution Profile) andtherefore can play your mobilephone’s
audio data.
•
Select an audio file from your mobile phone and start the playback. In the device’s displayappears the entry A2DP and
the audio data will be played back via the speakers connected to the device.
Notice:
•
On the mobile phone it may be necessaryto switch playback via the Bluetooth stereo headset. Consult the
operating manual of your mobile phone for more information.
•
WithafewmobilephonesthedevicedoesnotautomaticallyswitchtotheA2DPmode.InthiscaseyouswitchtotheA2DP
mode by pressing the MODEbutton several times until the notice BT MUSIC or A2DPappears in the display.
AVRCP (Audio Video Remote Control Profile)
The device uses the AVRCP profile, thus facilitating the control of audio devices.
1.
With the PAU/1button you can stop and/or restart the playback of audio files on the mobilephone.
2.
With the buttons or on the device you can access the previous or next audio file on the mobile phone.
RESET
Reset button is found on the housing, behind the front panel .
Activate the reset button when the following occurs:
•
Initial installation of the unit with all wiring complete.
•
Function buttons freeze or do not operate.
•
Error symbol appears on the display.
Memory Backup
This unit isequipped withbuilt-in memoryI.C. (Integrated Circuits) tosave user settings suchastuner preset stationsand
audio control settings. Whenever power is disconnected, these settings will remain stored.

Always remove the disc from the unit when it has finished playing or not being used.
