Axisdevicessendtheinitiallysetpasswordincleartextoverthenetwork.Toprotectyourdeviceaftertherstloin,set
upasecureandencryptedHTTPSconnectionandthenchanethepassword.
Thedevicepasswordistheprimaryprotectionforyourdataandservices.Axisdevicesdonotimposeapasswordpolicyasthey
maybeusedinvarioustypesofinstallations.
Toprotectyourdatawestronlyrecommendthatyou:
•Useapasswordwithatleast8characters,preferablycreatedbyapasswordenerator.
•Don’texposethepassword.
•Chanethepasswordatarecurrininterval,atleastonceayear.

Selectexposuremode
Therearedifferentexposuremodeoptionsinthecamerathatadjustsaperture,shutterspeed,andaintoimproveimaequalityfor
specicsurveillancescenes.GotoSettings>Image>Exposureandselectbetweenthefollowinexposuremodes:
•Formostusecases,selectAutomaticexposure.
•Forenvironmentswithcertainarticiallihtin,forexampleuorescentlihtin,selectFlicker-free.
Selectthesamefrequencyasthepowerlinefrequency.

Aviewareaisacroppedpartofthefullview.Youcanstreamandstoreviewareasinsteadofthefullviewtominimizebandwidth
andstoraeneeds.IfyouenablePTZforaviewarea,youcanpan,tiltandzoomwithinit.Byusinviewareasyoucanremoveparts
ofthefullview,forexample,thesky.
Whenyousetupaviewarea,werecommendyoutosetthevideostreamresolutiontothesamesizeasorsmallerthantheviewarea
size.Ifyousetthevideostreamresolutionlarerthantheviewareasizeitimpliesdiitallyscaledupvideoaftersensorcapture,
whichrequiresmorebandwidthwithoutaddinimaeinformation.

Dynamicraneisthedifferenceinlihtlevelsinanimae.Insomecasesthedifferencebetweenthedarkestandthebrihtest
