CAMERA CAGE
ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
This Axler product is warranted to the original purchaser to be free
from defects in materials and workmanship under normal consumer
use for a period of one (1) year from the original purchase date or thirty
(30) days after replacement, whichever occurs later. The warranty
provider’s responsibility with respect to this limited warranty shall be
limited solely to repair or replacement, at the provider’s discretion, of
any product that fails during normal use of this product in its intended
manner and in its intended environment. Inoperability of the product or
part(s) shall be determined by the warranty provider. If the product has
been discontinued, the warranty provider reserves the right to replace
it with a model of equivalent quality and function.
This warranty does not cover damage or defect caused by misuse,
neglect, accident, alteration, abuse, improper installation or
maintenance. EXCEPT AS PROVIDED HEREIN, THE WARRANTY
PROVIDER MAKES NEITHER ANY EXPRESS WARRANTIES NOR ANY
IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED
WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE. This warranty provides you with specific legal rights, and
you may also have additional rights that vary from state to state.
To obtain warranty coverage, contact the Axler Customer Service
Department to obtain a return merchandise authorization (“RMA”)
number, and return the defective product to Axler along with the RMA
number and proof of purchase. Shipment of the defective product is at
the purchaser’s own risk and expense.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Attach the top handgrip connector to the main body.
a. Align the two holes at the base of the top handgrip connector with
the two corresponding sockets on the top of the main body.
b. Insert two M4×8 screws and tighten with the hex key.
2. Attach the top handgrip to the top handgrip connector.
a. Position the handgrip with the grooves down, and then insert it into
the handgrip connector from the front side of the cage. (Fig. 1)
b. Insert M4×6 screws into the three corresponding sockets and
tighten with the hex key.
3. Attach the camera to the main body.
a. Turn the cage and top handle assembly upside down and fit the
camera into the cage. (Fig. 2)
b. Align the camera’s locating socket with the camera locating screw
hole on the main body. (Fig. 3)
c. Use the 1/4ʺ-20 screw to attach the camera. To ensure the camera
is securely attached, tighten the screw with a screwdriver or a coin.
d. Align the camera locating screw (M4x8) with the socket on the base
of the camera and screw it in with the hex key.
Note: The camera socket is not threaded.
4. Attach the HDMI plug protector and micro HDMI cable (GH4 only).
a. Open the door to the HDMI port on the side of the camera.
b. Select the screw sockets on the main body to attach the HDMI plug
protector. Make sure the HDMI-D (Micro) plug is aligned with the
camera’s HDMI port when it extends through the protector.
c. Attach the HDMI plug protector by inserting the M4×10 screws and
tightening with the hex key. (Fig. 4)
d. Insert the micro HDMI-D (Micro) plug through the plug protector
and into the camera’s HDMI-D (Micro) port.
e. Secure the cable by tightening the two M4×14 screws with the hex
key.
f. Fit the HDMI plug into the hole on the plug protector and lock it into
place by tightening the M4×14 screw. (Fig. 5)
5. Attach the rods.
a. Insert the two 15 mm rods into the baseplate holes and set the rods
at the desired position. (Fig. 6)
b. Tighten the locking knobs on both sides of the baseplate.
6. Attach the baseplate.
a. Loosen the locking screw on the baseplate and fit the quick-release
plate into the baseplate. (Fig. 7)
b. Lock the quick-release plate by tightening the locking screw.
Important! Make sure that the quick-release plate is seated entirely
inside the baseplate.
MOUNTING ON A TRIPOD
The baseplate is designed with 3/8ʺ-16 and 1/4ʺ-20 threaded
mounting sockets.
1. Remove the camera cage and camera assembly from the baseplate.
2. Align the appropriate mounting socket with the mounting stud of the
tripod and screw in the baseplate until secure.
3. Attach the camera cage and camera assembly to the baseplate with
the quick-release plate.

The Axler APC-GH4 is a rugged, all-aluminum camera cage designed to
precisely fit Panasonic’s GH-4 camera. It offers stability and protection,
as well as numerous 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 mounting points for accessories
such as monitors, microphones, lights, or audio recorders. In addition, the
camera cage incorporates three cold-shoe mounts for more attachment
options. The removable top handle makes lifting and moving a heavy rig easy.
The APC-GH4 gives you access to all the features of your Panasonic
camera. The HDMI plug protector ensures that the HDMI connection will
not come loose during shooting, and securely holds the plug in place to
prevent damage to the camera’s HDMI port. The cage comes with a quick-
release plate for easy attachment to the baseplate. And the baseplate
is designed with 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 mounting options. The baseplate
accommodates two 15 mm rods (included) for adding follow focus or
matte box systems, as well as other rail-mounted accessories.
