Adjusting CD Template
Use this template to cut a CD for an
adjustment tool.
Pressure Adjustment
EXPLANATION OF THE ADJUSTMENT PROCESS
The amount of pressure applied to the disc is DIRECTLY related to the height of the small platen compared to the
“stationary” height of the large platen, and the booster plate when assembled correctly. The next two rules are key
in adjusting your machine properly.
RULE ONE: The lower the small platen the more pressure you are applying to the repair process.
RULE TWO: The higher the small platen is the less pressure applied.

Start the adjustment by cleaning the set and lock screws.
1. Make sure you are familiar with all the parts and their purposes found on page 1.
2. For model 1600 adjustments only: Plug the water drain hole to prevent any small pieces from falling and plugging the
drain system.
3. Remove rubber plug
from the center of the
small platen and store in
a safe place.
4. Using the 3/32 hex
key, completely remove
the set screw from the
platen, clean and
lubricate.
5. Insert clean set screw
back into hole and turn it
until it stops.
7. Using the 1/8 hex key,
completely remove the
lock screw, clean and
lubricate.
6. Roll the black rubber
cover to expose the lock
screw.
8. Insert clean lock
screw back into hole and
turn until it is snug. do
not tighten!
9. Place the Super Life™ head on the large platen and the adjusting CD on the small platen as you would any disc to be repaired.
10.With the 3/32 allen wrench, turn the set screw until the top of the adjusting CD is flush with the top of the Super Life™ head
and abrasive paper. (Important: It is key to check the height of all the super life heads before doing this. (see pg. 15)
11.Tighten the lock screw
with the 1/8 allen
wrench.
12.Roll black rubber cover
back into place and insert
rubber plug into the
center of the small
platen.
To raise - Turn the lock screw clockwise
To lower - Turn the lock screw counter clockwise
