Setup Guide for UA4104/UA4105 Sony printer
IMPORTANT:
This procedure must be carried out only by BK Medical service personnel or BK Medical authorized service
representatives. The procedure covers unpacking and set-up of the system including connecting to the power outlet
and a possible network connection.

1. Introduction
This document is a setup guide for integrated printers on bk3000/bk5000 (with Prism Software), bkActiv, and
bkSpecto.
Table 1-1 contains an overview of the available internal printer kits and necessary tools.

2.1. Unpack the kit.
The kit will contain printer, printer hanger, 8 screws, a
haxalobular key, and printer paper.

2.2. Instruction to connect printer
The printer is placed below the glassUI in a printer holder.
1. Remove 1 screw below the glassUI and remove the lid.
Note:
Remember to support the cover while removing the screw

2. Cut off the zip tie.
3. Gently pull out the USB cable and the power cable.
CAUTION:
Do not pull too hard making sure not to damage the system.
4. Mount the four screws with washer head. Leave some space for the printer holder.
CAUTION:
If the screws are fastened too much it is not possible to slide on the printer holder.

5. Slide on the printer holder and fasten the screws using the enclosed torx key.
6. Connect the two cables to the printer and gently slide the printer into the holder.
7. The printer is fastened from below with four screws to the printer holder.
2.3. Enable Printing in the Console
1. Go to Settings.
2. Select Store / Network.
3. Select Printers.
4. Choose the printer on the
Default Image Printer list.
5. A print button appears on the glassUI.
6. Test the button works.

3. Setup UA4105 for bk3000/bk5000
UA4105 can be used with bk3000/bk5000. Scanners produced before September 2021 needs to be retrofitted
to be able to connect UA4104. To retrofit a scanner it is required to order 12V cable 105-125163-01 in
addition to UA4105.
If the scanner is newer then skip the retrofit steps.
3.1. Unpacking the System
1. The kit will contain printer, printer hanger, 8 screws, a haxalobular key, and printer paper.
3.2. Cable identification
The printer is connected with two cables. A 12V power cable and a USB cable for communication.
To see what type is installed on you system, remove the screw below the keyboard which is securying the
cover drawer and pull out the cover drawer as showed in the picture
Table 3-1 shows if the scanner must be retrofitted before the printer kit can be used. The USB cables are
identical but the power cables are different. The new power cable is called 105-125163-01.

3.3. Retrofit
1. Remove the handles and keyboard overlay.
2. Disconnect the flat cables.
3. Open the cover drawer below the keybaord.
4. Remove the two screws holding the cables in place.
5. Remove the left cover of the engine (Instructions can be found in the Service Manual).
