Why is it important that parents use the breathing monitor?
During their rst year of life, infants are at risk of the so-called sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) that is
described as a sudden and unexpected death of an otherwise healthy child.
Children under one year of age have irregular breathing paerns, and may even stop breathing. The breathing
monitor is the only device that is able to connuously monitor the characterisc breathing movements of
your baby when lying in a bed, crib or pram and provide early warning of any potenally dangerous situaon.
It may thus prevent the already menoned sudden infant death syndrome. If the parent detects the
suspension of breathing (apnea) in me and is able to respond appropriately and restore breathing, the baby
is likely to be saved.
Using the breathing monitor is the most ecient way to prevent SIDS. Baby Control Digital breathing monitor
can save life, but is not a life-saving device.
Descripon of funcons of Baby Control Digital breathing monitor
(BC-200, BC-210, BC-230, BC-220i, BC-230i)
1. Baby Control Digital connuously monitors the breathing of a baby sleeping in the bed, crib or pram, etc.
2. The sensor pad placed directly on the grang under the maress senses the baby’s breathing movements. Informaon is
then given to the control unit to evaluate the measured values.
3. Baby Control Digital breathing monitor detects any breathing suspension. In case of danger, i.e. if the value of breathing
movements of the baby is more than twelve seconds under the pre-set threshold level of detecon (see Adjusng the
threshold level of detecon), Baby Control Digital generates a noisy alarm.
4. But Baby Control Digital is in no way able to intervene in a dangerous situaon that occurs. Only that person who un-
derwent a dedicated training course is able to give arcial breathing and perform resuscitaon. Ask your doctor for advice.

Features of Baby Control Digital breathing monitor

1. Detecon is accomplished through the maress
Baby Control Digital breathing monitor has no direct contact with your baby. Its use does not inuence the normal life
condions of the family and their baby. It is discreet and easy to use.
2. Uniquely large monitored area
The size of one sensor pad is 300 x 500 mm. Depending on the type Baby Control Digital breathing monitors have one, two,
three or four (twin type) sensor pads. The device with three sensor pads is able to monitor the surface of most baby beds.
Your fear that your baby can move outside the monitored area can be reduced by using a device with more sensor pads.
3. Variable placing of sensor pads

side, so don’t be afraid of insucient monitoring.
5. It can be used with all maress and grang types
The sensor pad of Baby Control Digital breathing monitor is placed directly on the bed grang and can be safely used with
any maress no maer how thick it is or what material it is made from.
6. Digitally adjustable threshold level of detecon
By only several clicks of a buon, it is possible to adjust the threshold level of detecon of the baby’s breathing
movements, which best suits the environment in queson.
7. Digital representaon of the breathing movement intensity
You may watch the intensity of your baby’s breathing movements on the scale from 0 to 9 on the display that is well visible
also in the dark (luminous).Thus it is possible to check with only one look, whether Baby Control Digital breathing monitor
is appropriately adjusted for your baby’s breathing.
8. Baby Control Digital breathing monitor is able to play backevents of the last nine minutes in one-minute steps
Baby Control Digital breathing monitor will play back the recorded events from the digital memory, which may provide
important informaon on the details of any breathing suspension.
9. Double (safety) siren
Baby Control Digital breathing monitor is equipped with a safety double siren.
10. Baery voltage monitoring
If the baery voltage is low, the device will signalize the baery replacement when turned on.

larger area. If your baby’s bed is of a standard size, you can sll make good use of the third sensor pad in a crib or temporary
bed at grandparents. In such case is not necessary to remove the sensor pads from under the baby, you only take with you
