The correct care and maintenance of your cot bed will keep it looking
good and working well for years.
Materials
Your cot-bed is made from solid pine and pine veneers. Pine is a
completely natural material and therefore no two pieces are ever
identical in pattern or colour. As pine furniture gets older, its colour may
change due to being exposed to light and air, so new pieces may look
slightly different to those you already have. There is no need for
concern about this, as the colour difference will diminish over time.
To retain the natural finish, the surfaces have been coated with a
protective lacquer. This can be maintained by cleaning with a soft dry
cloth. Occasionally, a damp cloth, followed by drying, can be used. All
furniture can be damage by knocks and scrapes- if you dent the
surface, breaking the lacquer seal, apply some sealing wax to keep out
atmospheric moisture.
Assembly
Before beginning assembly, please read through these instructions.
Carefully unpack your cot bed and check you have a complete set of
parts against the list provided.
We recommend that you assemble your cot bed on a clean, flat
surface, making sure there are no sharp objects present that could
mark or damage the cot bed panels.
Caution
There are many small components used in the construction of this Cot
bed. These items should be kept out of the reach of children during
assembly.
SAFETY ADVICE AND WARNINGS
1. The bottom mattress base position is the safest. You should always use the
cot in the lowest position as soon as your baby is old enough to sit up.
2. WARNING: Do not leave anything in the cot or place the cot close to another
product, which could provide a foothold or present a danger of suffocation or
strangulation, e.g. strings, blind/curtain cords etc.
3. WARNING: Do not use the cot if any part is broken, torn or missing and only
use spare parts approved by the manufacturer.
4. When choosing a mattress, ensure that the height between the surface of the
mattress to the upper edge of the bed frame is at least 500mm in the lowest
position and at least 200mm in the highest position of the bed base.
5. There should never be a gap of more than 30mm between the mattress and
the sides or the ends of the cot.
6. Regularly check that nuts & bolts are secure and always check for evidence of
damage, which could make the bed unsafe or cause splinters. Loose fittings
can result in snagging clothes or cords posing a risk of strangulation.
7. WARNING: Do not use more than one mattress in the cot.
8. Do not use a mattress with a depth greater than 100mm.
9. We recommend the use of the BabyStyle Dream Sprung mattress for this cot
(Nominal size 1400mm x 700mm x 100mm).
10. WARNING: Be aware of the risk of open fire and other sources of strong heat,
such as electric bar fires, gas fires etc., in the vicinity of the cot.
11. Clean with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaning
products.
12. To prevent injury form falls, as soon as the child is able to climb out of this cot,
the cot should no longer be used for that child.
13. This cot bed is intended for use for children from birth to approximately 4
years of age. Suggested use for this cot is 0 to 18 months, for the junior bed-
18 months to 4 years.
14. Should you require additional replacement parts, contact the retailer or
distributor.
