Playard Warnings
WARNING: Failure to follow these warnings and
the instructions could result in serious injury or death.
This product including side rails, must be fully erected
prior to use. Make sure latches are secure. ALWAYS
provide the supervision necessary for the continued
safety of your child. When used for playing, never
leave child unattended.
SUFFOCATION HAZARD
INFANTS HAVE SUFFOCATED:
• In gaps between a mattress too small or too thick and
product sides.
• On soft bedding.
NEVER add a mattress, pillow, comforter, or padding.
Use ONLY the mattress provided by Baby Trend®.
• The playard mattress/pad is specially designed to
prevent suffocation. The playard mattress/pad has a
solid base, which must be at least 40 in. long and 28
in. wide and not more than 1 in. thick in order to meet
safety standards. Using a thicker or a different sized
mattress/pad may allow a child’s head to get between
mattress/pad and the side of the playard causing
suffocation.
• Children can suffocate on soft bedding. Do not place
pillows, comforters or an additional oor pad in this
playpen.
• To reduce the risk of SIDS, pediatricians recommend
healthy infants be placed on their back to sleep, unless
otherwise advised by your physician.
• ALWAYS place child on back to sleep.
• NEVER use plastic shipping bags or other plastic lm as
mattress covers not sold and intended for that purpose.
They can cause suffocation.
• NEVER use a water mattress with this product.
FALL HAZARD: Always check that the bassinet
is securely locked on the base/stand by pulling
upwards on the bassinet.
WARNING: STRANGULATION HAZARD:
NEVER LEAVE INFANT IN PRODUCT WITH SIDES DOWN.
Infant may roll into space between pad and loose
mesh side causing suffocation.
• Strings can cause strangulation! NEVER place items with
a string around a child's neck such as hood strings or
pacier cords. NEVER suspend strings over playard or
attach strings to toys.
• NEVER place the playard near a window where cords
from blinds or drapes can strangle a child.
• Do not place any cord, strap or similar item in or near
this playpen that could become wrapped around a
child’s neck.
• Do not place this playpen near a window or patio door
where a child could reach the cord of a blind or curtain
and be strangled.
• Child can become entrapped and die when
improvised netting or covers are placed on top of
a playard. Never add such items to conne child in
playard.
• NEVER leave child in product with sides lowered. Be sure
sides are in raised and locked position whenever child is
in product.
• Do not leave a child unattended in this playpen.
WARNING: See playard oor and side rails for
warnings.
• The playard, including side rails, must be fully erected
prior to use.
• Make sure latches are secure.
• Discontinue use of the product when child is able to
climb out or has reached the height of 35 in. (89 cm), or
30 lb. (13.6 kg).

of it or who is taller than 89 cm.
• When child is able to pull to standing position, remove
bumper pads, large toys and other objects that could
serve as steps for climbing out.

continued safety of your child. When used for playing,
never leave child unattended. Child in crib must be
under supervision at all times.

instructions that come with it.
• NEVER use this product if there are any loose or missing
fasteners, loose joints, broken parts, or torn mesh/fabric.

/ Hand Held Carrier are safe by checking regularly,
before placing the child in it, check that every part is

ATTENTION: Playard must be fully assembled and securely locked before installing or using
other accessories.
IMPORTANT: Test each top rail by pushing
down slightly to confirm each is rigid and
securely in place before use (Fig. 3b).
4) • Place the Playard mattress with the padded
side facing up (Fig. 4).
5) • Underneath the mattress Insert the hook &
loop through the sloted floor of the playard
(Fig. 5a). Fasten the hook and loop to the
underside of the playard floor (Fig. 5b).
IMPORTANT: The handle located in the
center of the Playard floor MUST remain
raised (Approx. 45.7 cm or 18 inches) while
locking the side rails in place. If the center is
not raised the rails will NOT lock.
If you experience difficulty and one side of
the rail will lock but the other side will not
then, unlock the rail by squeezing the release
in the center and try again. If you still have
difficulty, contact our Customer Service
Center at 1-800-328-7363 or visit us online at
www.babytrend.com.

TO ASSEMBLE PLAYARD

1) • Unzip bag and remove playard frame (Fig. 1).
Unfasten straps and set the mattress aside.
DO NOT push center down yet.
2) • Top rails must be fully locked before lowering
center. Pull up one rail at a time, hold one hand
on each side of the rail and pull up sharply, do
not pull from the middle where the center latch
release is located, make sure both tubes latch in
place and each rail is rigid (Fig. 2).
IMPORTANT: The center must be raised while
locking the rails. If one rail will lock but the
other side will not then, unlock the rail by
squeezing the release in the center and try
again.
3) • Once all four (4) top rails are locked in place,
push down on the center handle (Fig. 3a). The
center mechanism automatically locks in place.

BRAKES
6) • To activate the wheel brakes, press
downward on the levers. To release, lift
upward on the lever (Fig. 6).
FOLDING PLAYARD
7) • Release the hook and loop fastener holding
the Mattress from underneath the Playard
floor or the Bassinet and set the mattress
aside.
DO NOT unlock top rails yet, center of floor
handle must be raised before top rails will
unlock.
• Rotate the center handle counter-clockwise
90 degrees and raise the center as high as
the top rails (Fig. 7). Gather the Legs and
Wheels together towards the center as close
as possible so that they nearly touch.
8) • Locate the rail latch release in the center and
bottom side of each rail. Squeeze the lever
with two hands until the rail releases the two
tubes (Fig. 8a), then push down (Fig. 8b).
NOTE: If the top rail(s) do not release
completely, DO NOT FORCE! Lift the center
of floor higher. Both tubes must be released
for the top rail to fold.

9) • Gather all four (4) corners and the
center together tightly (Fig. 9). Wrap
Mattress around Playard frame with
padded side facing inward.
10) • Secure the hook and loop fasteners by
feeding them through the loops on the
end of the mattress then fold them
back onto themselves (Fig. 10).
• Place folded Playard into carry bag so
that the handle comes through the
opening between each side of the
zipper.

Full-Size Bassinet & Cradles Warnings:

infant begins to push up on hands and knees or has
reached the height of 25 in. (635 mm), weight of 15
lb. (6.8 kg) or 3 months old, whichever comes rst.
• ALWAYS check that the bassinet is securely locked on
the base/stand by pulling upwards on the bassinet bed.
SUFFOCATION HAZARD
Infants have suffocated:
• In gaps between extra padding and side of the
bassinet/cradle, and
• On soft bedding
Use only the pad provided by Baby Trend®. NEVER add
a pillow, comforter, or another mattress for padding.

TO ASSEMBLE FULL-SIZE BASSINET
ATTENTION: Playard must be fully assembled and securely locked before installing or using
the Bassinet feature (See To Assemble Playard section). You will need to remove the mattress
from the bottom of the Playard to use inside your Bassinet.
11) • Connect opposing Mattress Support
Tubes that are attached to the
bottom of the Bassinet (Fig. 11a).
• Before placing the Mattress into
the Bassinet, make sure Mattress
Support tubes are connected (Fig.
11b).
12) • Position the Bassinet over and down
into the fully assembled Playard.
Secure in place by pushing down
firmly on each plastic support clip
until all are snapped into place (Fig.
12).
13) • Place the Mattress into the Bassinet with the padded side facing upward (Fig. 13).

TO REMOVE FULL-SIZE BASSINET
• Remove Mattress from Bassinet. Disconnect opposing Mattress Support Tubes.
Unsnap all clips and lift Bassinet.

Changing Table:
WARNING: Do not use this accessory if you
cannot exactly follow the instructions that come with

Falls can happen quickly.
• STAY in arm's reach of your child.
• ALWAYS secure the changing table to the playard
frame. See instructions, see page 16 to 19 for details.
SUFFOCATION HAZARD: Babies have
suffocated while sleeping on changing tables.
Changing tables are not designed for safe sleep.
• NEVER allow baby to sleep on changing table.
• NEVER leave the changing table in place when the child
is in the Full-Size Bassinet or the playard. Always ip the
changing table down while not in use. To prevent your
child from falls and other injuries, always use the safety
belt when children are on the changing table.
• Discontinue use of the Full-Size Bassinet and the
changing table when child begins to push up on hands
and knees or has reached the height of 25 in. (635 mm),
weight of 15 lb. (6.8 kg) or 3 months old, whichever

TO ASSEMBLE CHANGING TABLE
ATTENTION: Playard and Full-size bassinet must be fully assembled and securely locked
before installing or using the changing table feature (See To Assemble Playard and Full-size

14) • Connect the two (2) Long Curved Bars
together (Fig. 14a).
• Insert the assembled curved bars into
the Changing Table fabric (Fig. 14b).
Slide the Curved Bars around inside
sleeve of the Changing Table.
• Connect the two (2) Short Bars to each
end of the Long Curved Bar (Fig. 14c).
Make sure that the knobs are both
facing down and the same direction on
each end (Fig. 14d).

15) • Insert Connector Knob Prongs into holes
located on both corners of the Playard (Fig.
15a).
• Turn the Connector Knobs counter clockwise
to lock into place (Fig. 15b).
• Flip Changing Table over onto Playard (Fig.
15c).
• Snap the two (2) buttons on the flap down
onto the Playard (Fig. 15d).
TO SECURE THE CHANGING TABLE TO THE
PLAYARD
IMPORTANT! When the
changing table is ipped up into the
upper position the changing table
must be secured to the playard
frame using the hook and loop
fasteners provided.

16) • Locate the hook and loop fasteners on the
bottom of the changing table and inside the
side rails of the playard (Fig. 16).
17) • Flip the changing table into its upper
position (Fig. 17).
18) • Secure the changing table to the playard
frame by fastening the hook and loop
fasteners on the underside of the changing
table to the side rails of the playard frame
(Fig. 18).

TO USE THE CHANGING TABLE RESTRAINT
SYSTEM
19) • Place child on the changing table, make sure
hands and arms are clear of the restraint. Bring
the restraint around the child’s waist and clip the
male and female ends of the buckle together
(Fig. 19a).
• Tighten strap until it fits snug around the child’s
waist (Fig. 19b).
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
• To remove, unsnap the buckle.
ATTENTION: NEVER use changing table if it is
damaged or broken.

TO REMOVE THE CHANGING TABLE
20) • Flip Changing Table to the outside of the Playard. Unsnap fabric flap of the Changing
Table from Playard. Twist Connector Knobs clockwise to unlock (Fig. 20a).
• Remove Changing Table from the Playard (Fig. 20b) and disconnect the Short Bars
from the Curved Bar by pressing on the snap buttons and pulling apart. Remove
Curved Bar from the Changing Table sleeve.

21) • Parent Organizer: Position each hook so that
the hooked end is facing the rear side of the
organizer. Press the hook down firmly into
the slot until it snaps into place (Fig. 21a).
• Connect the parent organizer to the playard
by pressing the two (2) connecting clips over
the top rail of one of the playard's longer
sides (Fig. 21b). NOTE: When using the full-
size bassinet, clip the parent organizer clips
directly onto the large full-size bassinet clips.

• Begins to wiggle out of position or turn over in the
product, head touches the upper edge of the product,
reached the height of 25 in. (635 mm), weight of 15 lb.
(6.8 kg) (approximately 3 months of age).
• ALWAYS use restraint system if a restraint system is
provided with the product.
SUFFOCATION HAZARD
Infants have suffocated:
• In gaps between extra padding and sides of bassinet/
cradle and
• On soft bedding
Use only the pad provided by the manufacturer. NEVER
add a pillow, comforter, or another mattress for padding.
• When trapped between product and adjacent surfaces.
• ONLY use ROCK-A-BYE BASSINET on playard when it is
securely attached.
• If a sheet is used with the pad, use only the one provided
by Baby Trend® or one specically designed to t the
dimension of the ROCK-A-BYE BASSINET bassinet mattress.
• NEVER use ROCK-A-BYE BASSINET in different product.
WARNING: NEVER leave child unattended.

over on soft surfaces and suffocate child. NEVER
place carrier on beds, sofas, or other soft surfaces.

• To help prevent heat build-up inside the playard and to
avoid overheating your child, when using the Rock-A-
Bye Bassinet NEVER use an outdoor canopy.
• NEVER leave Portable Rock-A-Bye Bassinet in place
when child is in the playard. Only one child can use the
Playard at any time.
• Always ensure that the playard, changing table, and
Portable Rock-A-Bye Bassinet are safe by checking
regularly, before placing the child in it, that every part is
properly and securely in place.
• NEVER use this product if there are any loose or missing
fasteners, loose joints, broken parts, or torn mesh/fabric.
Check before assembly and periodically during use.

ATTENTION: Playard and full-size bassinet must be fully assembled and securely
locked before installing or using the Rock-a-Bye bassinet feature. (See To Assemble Playard

22) • Lay the Rock-A-Bye Bassinet fabric on a flat
surface with the bottom side facing up.
Locate the 2 Straight Bars (Fig. 22a).
NOTE: Open the flaps as needed to
assemble the bars (Fig. 22b). Insert the
Straight Bars into the backside of the Rock-
A-Bye bassinet (Fig. 22c).

• From the underside of the bassinet,
ensure the clips are in the exterior
and leg mounts face up during this
preparation (Fig. 22e).
• Insert both ends with the push pins
into the Straight Bars. Ensure all pins
click into postion on all 4 connection
points (Fig. 22f).

23) • Keep the bassinet with the clips and leg mounts facing up (Fig. 23a). Pull the flaps of
the fabric over the bar housing as shown in the diagram (Fig. 23b).
NOTE: Ensure that the fabric opening wraps completely around the bar housing.
• Use the the hook and loop fasteners to close the flap (Fig. 23c). Repeat on the
opposite side.
24) • To insert the Rock-A-Bye Bassinet Bars: Open the 4 foot extensions on both Bars
(Fig. 24a).
• Before inserting them into the housing check that the foot extensions all point
inward as seen in the diagram (Fig. 24b).
• Insert the Bars into the housing by aligning the push pin with the hole (Fig. 24c).
Ensure that the pins click into position (Fig. 24d).
NOTE: Look closely at the pin hole to be sure the push pin has completely come out
of the hole. Repeat for all 4 connection points.
• Rotate the entire Rock-A-Bye and stand it on the foot extensions (Fig. 24e).

Canopy with toys
WARNING:
•Possible entanglement injury.
•Keep out of baby’s reach.
•Remove Toybar/Mobile/Canopy with toys when
baby begins to push up on hands and knees.
Recommended use from birth to 5 months.
•Toys are not intended to be mouthed by the baby
and should be positioned clearly out of reach of the
baby's face and mouth.

ALWAYS attach all provided fasteners (strings, straps,
clamps, etc.) tightly to playard according to these
instructions. Check frequently.
•Do not add additional strings or straps to attach to
any other crib or playpen.
•The Toybar/Mobile/Canopy with toys is intended for
visual stimulation and not to be grasped by the child.

TO ASSEMBLE CANOPY
ATTENTION: The canopy is NOT a carry handle.
25) • Push down on the ends of the canopy to
secure it onto the top of the bassinet frame
(Fig. 25a). To remove it, pull the ends off the
napper frame (Fig. 25b).
26) • The rear of the canopy has 2 fabric
openings. Pull both opening over the 2 clips
at the rear of the bassinet frame. Ensure
to wrap the elastic completely over the
bassinet frame (Fig. 26).
NOTE: Always complete the canopy before
attaching the bassinet to the playard frame.

27) • To open the canopy: push forward on the front edge of the canopy while holding
the rear of canopy in place (Fig. 27a).
• To fold the canopy: pull backwards on the front edge (Fig. 27b).

ROCKER FUNCTION
28) • Turn the bassinet over and close the 4 peg legs (Fig. 28a). Set Bassinet on a flat
surface (Fig. 28b).
NOTE: Rocking requires adult assistance and supervision, this is not an automatic
rocking cradle (Fig. 28c). NEVER use Bassinet on raised surface such as Table, Bed or
Chair. A fall can occur.

using the snap buttons, straps, or

29) • Locate the 4 clip fasteners on the bottom
of the Rock-A-Bye Bassinet (Fig. 29a).
• To attach the Rock-A-Bye Bassinet to
the Playard, lower it into the full-size
bassinet. Push down on the 4 clips and
secure it onto the full-size bassinet
railing (Fig. 29b).

TO FOLD REMOVABLE ROCK-A-BYE BASSINET
WARNING: Care must be taken when folding
and unfolding to prevent nger entrapment.
CAUTION: Do not allow children near while
folding and unfolding.
30) • ATTENTION: Always fold to store the Rock-A-Bye bassinet when not
in use.
Remove the Rock-A-Bye(s) Bassinet from the Playard and place on a flat surface
(Fig. 30).

31) • The Music Center is designed to be attached to the playard’s/bassinet’s long rail
(Fig 31).
32) • The Music Center requires 4 AA batteries. Please see figure 32 for battery
installation. Unscrew the battery door screws and pull outward on the battery door.
Install batteries as shown. Re-install battery door and secure with screws.
