This bumper is intended for off-road use only. The owner assumes all liability for installation
and use. Any sensor will have an altered view when installed in an after-market bumper.

Remove Original Bumper:
1. For a completed look, you'll want to reuse a small part of the OEM bumper cover
(above the lower door hinge). Using a marker, make a horizontal mark 4¾” down from
the top, so that your mark is in line with the bottom of the hinge. You'll use this mark
to trim the bumper cover in Step 3 of the installation. (Picture 1 & 2)

2. Using a Torx T25, remove the screws holding the bumper cover to body, near the door
weatherstrip.
3. Using a trim tool, remove the plastic push clips on the bottom of the bumper cover,
then take off the center and ends of the bumper cover. In addition to the screws,
there's a small clip under each taillight.
4. Using a 15mm socket and 18mm wrench, remove the 8 bolts that hold hitch to frame
and 4 bolts that secure the hitch to the bumper. Remove the hitch.
5. Remove the trailer wiring plug from the hitch. Using a body saw or cutoff wheel,
remove the bracket for the trailer plug. The plug will be installed into the new bumper.
6. Using a 13mm socket, remove the 8 bolts securing bumper to frame – retain these for
the new brackets. Remove the bumper.
Install Your New Bumper:
1. Before installing the bumper, install reverse lights (if ordered) per the manufacturer's
instructions.
2. Install the wear pad and shocks onto the bumper using hardware from BW00-0020.
This can be done after the bumper is installed, but it’s much easier now. Pictures 3-4
3. Using your mark from step one of removal, cut the plastic bumper cover at 4.75”
down from top and reinstall the top portion using the OEM hardware and clips.

4. Using the longest bolts from hardware kit BW00-0040, bolt the new brackets to
frame, along with the hitch. Using the OEM bolts, saved in step 5 of the removal, bolt
the new brackets to the bottom of the frame. Then, using the supplied ½” bolts, bolt
the hitch to new brackets. Pictures 5-6
5. Using the supplied hardware from BW00-0040, bolt the bumper to mounting
brackets. [Team Lift] Adjust the bumper to the desired height, and center it laterally on
the van. Pictures 7-8
6. Install the bearings and seals into the swing arms, then set the swing arms onto the
spindles. Install the washer and nut and torque until the swing-arms have some
resistance to turning. Once set, install the cotter key and dust cap. Once all the
accessories are installed, you may need to readjust the torque on the bearings.

7. Using the supplied 7∕¹6” hardware from kit BW00-0020, install the accessory panels
to the swing arms. To set the height of the accessory panels, we recommend using
two washers, or anything roughly ⅜” thick, on top of the wear pads, under the
accessory panels. This will account for any sag once the panels are loaded with heavy
accessories. Remove these once tightened. Pictures 9-10
[The following set of instructions will result with the passenger side opening first, and the latch willbeon the
passenger side. If you prefer the driver door to open first, then install the latch setup on the opposite side.]
8. Install the overlap plate and supplied rubber strip onto the passenger side opening
accessory plate using the supplied 5∕¹6”hardware from kit BW00-0020 sub 3.

9. Install the upper plastic latch pad (the thickest one included), using hardware from

10. Install the swing out stop and plastic pad on the driver's side swing arm, using
hardware from BW00-0039 (the countersink hardware secures the plastic pad to the
bracket). Use the 1" long, 1/4" bolts from kit BW00-0020 sub 5 to secure the
bracket to the swing out. Pictures 15-16
11. Install the lower latch rod support into the bottom two holes in the passenger side
plate using the supplied countersink bolts in BW00-0020 sub 5 (one long, one
short). Install the upper latch rod support into the 2 holes immediately above the
overlap plate on the passenger side using the supplied counter sink bolts in
BW00-0020 sub 5 (one long, one short). Picture 17-18

12. Install the handle catch onto the passenger side accessory plate using the remaining
countersink hardware from BW00-0020. Pictures 19-20
13. Drop one of the latches (teardrop shaped part with a square hole) into the upper
latch rod support. Drop the latch rod down through the latch, and temporarily tighten
the set screw in the latch. See Picture 20. Install the other latch into the lower latch rod
support from the bottom side. Loosen the set screw in the top latch and adjust the
rod so that it's flush with the bottom latch. Tighten the set screws on both latches.
This may take some adjustment. The set screw in the upper latch keeps the rod
suspended, so use this one to set the height. Adjust so that the bottom of the lower
latch is 1/8” to 1/4” above the lower latch catch. Some up/down adjustment may be
necessary for smooth operation. Picture 21
14. Install the handle at the top of the latch rod and tighten the set screw. Pictures 19-20

15. At this point, all of the components are installed. You may need to adjust either or
both of the swing out doors, inwards or outwards so that the latches will catch and
the doors don't drag when closed.
