ROY9
The ROY 9 motoreducer it’s composed by a single alluminium body,
containing the electric motor, the transmission system and the
electronic control board.
The motor it’s filled with oil and it’s provided with a mechanical
clutch for torque regulation.
The top of the motor it’s closed by an ABS cover in which it’s
housed the control board.
The control board can manage different working logics and all the
security and control accessories.
ROY also has an emergency release system protected by a small
cover with a keylock.
The limit switches can be magnetic (standard) or mechanic and are
used to check the travel of the gate.

Precautions required to install
the motoreducer
Before installing the motor always read all the manual.
The manual not only explain how to install the motor in the correct way
but explain also which safety standard the gate must respect.
Pre installation check
Verify that the gate:
- can slide properly, without hangings
- it’s straight and moving without oscillations
- it’s sliding inside the guides
- have mechanical swing stopper installed
These problems if present, must be corrected before installing
the motor.
Standard specifications
These standards define the mechanical requisites needed for motorised
residential gates in public areas.
To guarantee the safety the installer must verify:

must not have cutting edges..
- if the surfaces are scarcely visible these must be marked or colored.
- to move the swing manually the pressure applied must not exceed
15 kg for residential gates and 26 kg for industrial gates.
- the swing and relatives accessories must not expose people to danger
of dragging, cutting or shearing.
The danger zone where these risk must not be present it’s extened up
to 2,5 mt of height.
- during opening and closing operations, the swing must not create
trapping zones.

Motor fixing
1. MOTOR FIXING WITHOUT PLATE
Prepare a platform in cement raised 40-50 mm from the floor and
perfectly straight.
Two plastic pipes for electrical wiring must emerge from the platform
in correspondance with the two holes under the motor.
Position the motor on the platform according to the measures in this
manual. Make four holes of at least 10 mm for the anchoring screws
and fix the motor in the cement platform.
2.MOTOR FIXING WITH PLATE
Tighten the four screws on the fixing plate. The screws must come
out on the top side of the plate about 50 mm to allow a fine regulation
of the motor.
Prepare a platform in cement raised 40-50 mm from the floor and
perfectly straight. Set the four screws with the plate in the platform.
Two plastic pipes for electrical wiring must emerge from the platform
in correspondance with the two holes in the plate.
Position the motor on the plate and use the bolts supplied to fix it.
Moving the bolt on the screw is possible to have a fine regulation of
the height of the motor.
FIXING OF THE METAL RAIL
Unlock the motor with the emergency release.
Lay the first meter of rail on the pinion of the motor and on the gate.
The fixing pins must be set in the middle of the rail holes. Check that
the rail is straight and weld the pins into the gate. Couple the second
meter of the rail with the one already welded, to make sure that the
distance is right, use another piece of rail for the coupling (see figure
5). Repeat these operations for the full length of the gate.
Move the gate manually verifyng that it slides smoothly, if necessary
fine tune the height of the rails. Is very important to leave a clearance
of 1-2 mm between the rail and the pinion of the motor.
When all the regulation are done, tighten the screw and grease the
rail slightly.
Fig. 5

12
LIMIT SWITCH STIRRUP FIXING
Fix on the gate the stirrups with the screws supplied in the kit, the
stirrups must be set to activate the sensor on the motor before the
gate reaches the stoppers. Fine tune this regulation using the holes
made on the magnetic limit switches.
Always install the yellow magnet as closing limit switch and the
green magnet as opening limit switch.
The maximum distance between the magnet and the sensor inside
the motor must be less or equal to 15 mm. the position of the sensor
is indicated in figure 6.
When this operation has been done, lock the motor and proceed with
the electrical connections.
MAINTENANCE
This motoreducer does not need maintenance; anyway verify twice a
year all the security device.

ADJUSTEMENT OF THE ROY 9 MECHANICAL CLUTCH
The mechanical clutch is an added safety system which not replace
in any way the torque regulation of the electronic control board.
Both system must be adjusted separately and the maximum pressure
needed to stop the gate must be 15kg for residential gates and 26kg
for industrial gates.
ATTENTION: before using the motor remove the plastic wire
inserted in the oil cap. Keep this wire with the instruction
manual and place it back on the cap if there is the need to move
the motor. This wire is to prevent oil leaking during
transportation.
