Set up your television
Important
Ventilation
Follow the guidelines for placement and connection described on this and the
following pages.
Placement options
Place the TV on a rm and stable surface. The
standard placement allows you to tilt the TV, for
example to facilitate viewing at a low placement.
To tilt the TV pull at the bottom of the TV.
To ensure proper ventilation, allow enough space around the screen. Do not cover the fans. At over-
heating (ashing standby indicator and an on-screen warning), switch the TV to standby, not off, in
order for the TV to cool down. You cannot operate the TV during this time.
If you are going to place the TV on either the oor
stand or the wall bracket, you must remove the
two standard ‘feet’ from the TV. Follow the
instructions in the guide enclosed with these
optional accessories.
To remove the two covers for the main connection
panel, rst pull out, then pull down at the bottom
– also if the TV is placed on a stand.
Always remove cover 1 before removing cover 2.
When you have made all the connections and
fastened the cables, mount the cable covers again.

Installation and setting up
Cleaning
For safety reasons the mains supply cable must be
fastened to the cable strip (A). All cables must be
fastened to the cable strip (B). However, if your
setup includes a VGA connection, do not run the
VGA cable through the cable strip (B). Instead, use
the two screws in the VGA plug to fasten it to the
socket.
If you are going to connect any other equipment
to the TV, do not connect it to the mains yet!

Maintenance
Screen and cabinet
Never alcohol
Regular maintenance, such as cleaning, is the responsibility of the user.
Wipe dust off the surfaces using a dry, soft cloth. To remove stains or dirt, use a soft, damp cloth and
water without leaving streaks or traces. Some micro-bre cloths may harm the optical coating due to
their strong abrasive effect.
Never use alcohol or other solvents to clean any parts of the TV.
Remove the cover to access the CA module. To
remove the cover, use your nger or place a plastic
card in the second groove from the right and you
can easily ip off the cover.
The CA module is a ‘card reader’ for your Smart
Card which decodes the coded signals sent out
by the programme provider. See the Guide for
further information.
