Install the BWA-BK-009 Bracket Assembly on the Q45VA
Read these instructions before using your Sure Cross radios. Do not discard these instructions. For more detailed information
about installing and using your Sure Cross products, download and read the Sure Cross Wireless I/O Network Manual (p/n
132607 ).
Equipment (included in BWA-BK-009 bracket assembly):
• Screw Retainers (2)
• Base Plate (1)
• Phillip head Screws (4)
• Set Screw (1)
• Disc (1)
Recommended (not included) items:
• 262 Series Loctite (hardens after 10 minutes, full core hardens after 24 hours) or an equivalent glue
• Urethane or Epoxy able to withstand environment's temperature range (see step 9.)
Final Assembly BWA-BK-009 Bracket and Q45VA Assembly Exploded View
1. Flip the Q45VA upside down.
2. Insert the screw retainers into the two slots of the device and align the screw holes with the holes at the bottom of the
Q45VA.

3. Position the base plate on the bottom of the Q45VA so that the four counterbores face up and the alignment mark faces
the front of the Q45VA. Align the counterbores with the holes at the bottom of the device.
4. Securely attach the base plate using the four Phillips head screws.
5. Apply Loctite to the center screw hole of the base plate. Secure the set screw into the center hole until it reaches
resistance.
6. Fasten the disc on the set screw, with the threaded side facing away from the Q45VA.

7. Using the alignment mark as a reference, mark on the disc where the front of the Q45VA is.
This marks where the Q45VA is going to face after you have glued the disc to the mounting surface.
8. Remove the disk from the base plate.
9. Apply Loctite 330 and 7387 Activator (or similar adhesive) per instructions to the spiraled surface side of the disc and place
on the chosen surface so the marked section is in line with the shaft of the motor.
The front of the device should be facing the correct direction and the x-axis of the sensor is aligned with the shaft after the
Q45VA is mounted to the disc.
10. After the recommended adhesive that mounts the disc to its mounting surface has dried, apply Loctite to the set screw.
11. Screw the Q45VA back onto the disc.
