1. Preliminary Remarks
1Preliminary Remarks
This manual describes Barco's displays KVD5521, IVD5521, HVD5521. In this manual hey will be referred to as
“xVD” displays.
xVD displays excel in high brightness, high contrast, wide viewing angle, high color saturation, super narrow
bezel, and direct LED backlight.
They feature a resolution of 1920x1080, versatile inputs, integrated streaming, cropping and scaling capabilities.
As the first and only manufacturer, Barco now introduces its SenseX automatic color and brightness calibration
system, that lets you calibrate the complete wall within minutes, without any external sensor or manual inter-
vention. The result is a LCD video wall which is perfectly balanced in terms of colors and brightness,
Together with Barco’s wall mounting solutions, display wall management software and wall calibration, the xVD
displays are the perfect solution for LCD video wallf for high end applications.
KVD5521 Display with a screen diagonal of 55inch, TFT LCD technology, HD resolution

Mechanical stress
Please be careful not to apply strong mechanical stress (shock, drop) to the LCD module. Such stress may cause
break of screen glass or may be the cause for failure.
Pressure to screen surface
Please be careful not to apply strong pressure to the screen surface. Such pressure may cause scratches at the
surface or may be the cause of failure.
Protection against scratch
Please be careful not to hit, press or rub the screen surface with hard material like tools. In addition, please do
not put heavy or hard material on the screen surface, and do not stack displays. Polarizer at the front surface can
be easily scratched.
Temperature dependence of the display
Response speed (optical response) of the LCD display is dependent on temperature. Under low temperature,
response speed is slower. Also brightness and chromaticity change slightly depend on temperature.
Image retention
This product can be used in 24/7 when no static content is applied; when static content is applied BARCO rec-
ommends switching off the panels 4 hours a day to limit the possibility to incur in technology related phenome-
na such as Image retention and burn in. Running at a reduced brightness level and optimizing the room cooling
system to limit the heat on the screen is also advised. For more information contact Barco for a white paper on
this topic.Lighting conditions
Consider existing lighting and sunlight angles when creating the installation layout. Extremely bright lightning
can reduce the visibility and the quality of the displayed image.
In extremely bright surroundings, adjusting screen intensity may not result in perceptibly brighter images. Keep
in mind that extreme intensity settings can reduce system service life.
