Small Environment Enhanced Reality display system
SEER ™
The SEER mini-dome system is Barco’s compact and flexible visualization solution for
immersive simulation training. t consists of a custom 220°/240°/270° HFOV
(Horizontal Field of View) spherical dome structure, a multi-channel projection
system, sophisticated control and alignment tools, and automated permanent
maintenance tools. Dedicated technology optimizations allow a perfect display of all
weather conditions for optimal training during day, dusk and night missions.
For effective training of fast jet and rotary wing pilots, forward air controllers and
forward observers Barco’s SEER provides full immersion with constant eye relief over
the entirely spherical surface. The networking of several mini-dome simulators
enables trainee and instructor to "fly" as leader and wingman for even more
"immersive training".

Full immersion, constant eye relief
The spherical shape maintains a constant distance between
the user’s eye and the projected simulation, preventing the
user’s eyes from having to adjust to geometric changes in
the surface area.
The SEER also creates a seamless projection surface and
offers greater continuous visual range. ixel size is uniform
from front to top channels. The display is optimized for
matching color, brightness, gray scale, and other visual
parameters.
Technical excellence meets
demanding requirements
Barco’s SEER mini-domes can be realized in a short time
frame with various diameters and in as many channels as
needed (four, five or even eight) to respond to the specific
training needs. Thanks to dedicated SimCAD design software
projector placements are optimised to reach the desired
HFOV (up to 270°) and VFOV (up to 150°) while negating
distracting shadows from screen obstacles e.g. cockpit struc-
tures. Dedicated test patterns allow to perfectly integrate
the optical and electronic blend technology of the high-
resolution projectors used.

mini-dome system with a 2 m radius
for their new tactical su ort and
training system for Gri en C/D.
The PETRA conce t will be de loyed to
Air Force Simulation training centers in
Sweden, Hungary, and the Czech
Re ublic to enhance military flight
training effectiveness.

The Barco xRACU gives you the ower to
effectively control multi le simulation centers.
Automated permanent maintenance tools
As a permanent maintenance tool, the xRACU multi-system Remote Alignment and
Control Unit enables maintenance staff to operate, calibrate, configure and diagnose
the multiple projector set up from a single hand-held controller while the LDAT (Laser
Diode Array Tool) assists in maintaining alignment of all the display channels.
Barco’s LDAT is a ermanent maintenance tool to
verify the ro er geometric alignment of the
dis lay system.
U to 30 dedicated laser lights can be
inde endently directed to oints on the screen,
marking reference atterns to effectively align
dis lay channels.
