SOCKET.

BROKEN INTO THE SOCKET.
:IF THE CORD IS DAMAGED IT SHOULD BE REPLACED BY THE
MANUFACTURER OR APPOINTED SERVICE AGENT.
:NEVER REMOVE THE PLUG FROM THE SOCKET BY PULLING FROM
THE CORD SECTION. HOLD THE PLUG AS YOU PULL IT OUT.

:DO NOT TOUCH THE MACHINE WITH WET HANDS OR FEET.
:DO NOT OPEN THE DETERGENT DRAWER WHILE THE DEVICE IS

MACHINE IS RUNNING.
:DO NOT TOUCH THE DRAIN HOSE AND WATER DURING DRAINING –
THE WASHING MACHINE CAN REACH HIGH TEMPERATURES DURING
DRAINING.

:ALWAYS SWITCH OFF THE POWER AFTER USING YOUR APPLIANCE.
:ENSURE THAT YOU REMOVE AND CLEAN THE FILTER.
:THE OUTLET HOSE MUST BE FREE OF RESTRICTIONS.
:THE WATER PRESSURE MUST NOT BE ANY MORE THAN 1 MPa
AND NOT LESS THAN 0.05 MPa.
:DO NOT OVERLOAD THE DRUM.

Your BDW1300W’s Control Panel
Key to above figure:
P – Programme Selector
Turn this knob to select a washing programme, depending on the
dirtiness of your laundry. To set the programme, firstly ensure that
your appliance is OFF (i.e., the position of the ‘ON/OFF’ button is
out) and turn the knob clockwise until the needle points to the mark
matching the programme you want to use.
T- Temperature Selector
This knob adjusts the washing temperature so you can select the most
suitable programme for the fabrics to be washed.
A temperature equal to or lower than that indicated in the PROGRAMME
TABLE (SEE PAGES 13-14) can be chosen. To select the temperature, just
turn the knob until it is lined up with the corresponding marker.

S – Drying time selector
This knob adjusts the drying time according to the weight and type of
material. See the notes below for guidance.
 Resistant materials drying : A drying cycle can be selected at the end
of the washing cycle for all available programmes for cotton by using this
knob to select the required position as indicated in the PROGRAMME TABLE
(SEE PAGES 13-14).
 Delicate materials drying : In the same way, a low temperature drying
cycle can be selected at the end of the washing cycle for all available
programmes for synthetic materials by using this knob.
NEVER DRY WOOLLENS IN A DRYER!
A – Rinse and Hold Push-Button
Pressing this button IN will make the wash cycle of the synthetic and
wool programmes stop during the last rinse with the drum still full of
water.
Use this setting to prevent creasing in certain fabrics which
need to be drip-dried.
NOTE: To end the cycle, press the button again so that it is
OUT.
C – No Spin Push-button
Pressing this button IN will activate the programme so that there is no
spin on any selected washing programme.
Use this setting for certain types of delicate fabrics.

R – 550 / 1000 – 1200 – 1300 rpm Push-Button
Selects the spin speed of last minutes of the cotton programmes.
Pushing the Button OUT will make the spin speed go through a 1000 – 1200
– 1300 rpm cycle.
Pushing the Button IN will reduce the spin speed to 550 rpm for this cycle.
X – ON / OFF Push-button
Pushing the button IN (ON position) will START your washer-dryer so that it
will begin a selected washing cycle through to the end of that programme
(when programme selector knob –
P - points to ‘STOP’). Pushing this button
again (so that it is OUT) will turn your washing machine OFF.
Y – Extra Rinse Push-button
Pushing this button IN will use more water in the rinse. Because of this, you
should only use it when washing bigger loads. Leave it OFF for half-loads or
less in order to conserve water.
L – Pilot Lamp
When lit, this indicates that your machine is switched on. It also stays on at the
end of each programme and when the door lock is not activated.
*NOTE: Your Washing Machine has soft-touch buttons. You
only need to press these lightly to operate your appliance.

Cautions & advice about using your washer-dryer
In order to get maximum satisfaction and performance from your
washer-dryer, please ensure you follow the instructions given below:
9Select the clothes load correctly and choose the appropriate programme.
9Before opening the door, check that there is no water in the machine
and the pilot light is off.
9Put the washing products in the right proportion and in the right compartment.
9Small garments such as socks, belts, etc. are best put inside a bag to
avoid their being lost.
9Before putting clothes into the washing machine, make sure that there is
nothing in the pockets (coins, buttons, clips, etc.) and that the zips are
undone.
9If your machine has a filter, you should check regularly that it is clean &
not blocked. Be especially wary of coins, brassiere wire & fluff/hair.
9The interior of the washer-dryer should be handled by specialists only. NEVER
attempt to repair or modify it yourself.
9After each wash, leave the door ajar to prevent the rubber seal from
becoming misshapen or mouldy.
9When the clothes to be washed are heavily soiled or splattered with mud, it is
advisable to run a programme with pre-wash.
9Unless doing half-load washing, always put the machine on fully loaded
to save energy.
9Do not use the dryer function if the clothes have been treated with any non-
aqueous solution.
9Do not use the dryer function for items containing any kind of spongy rubber or
similar elastomer materials.
9The washer-dryer must be installed in a well-ventilated place, away
from the influence of gases from other appliances and from
defective installations.
9The lower ventilation, between the floor and the base of the machine must not
be obstructed (by carpet, cloths, etc.).
9When the machine has just been installed, or after a long time without
its being used, it is advisable to run a washing programme with the
machine empty, to eliminate any rusty water in the tubes.

Before Using your BWD1300
NOTE: (*VERY IMPORTANT*) – You must
ensure that the transportation bolts
have been removed before you attempt
to use your Washing Machine,
OTHERWISE you will damage or
destroy your appliance. See page 27
for instructions.
Only once you are sure this has been done can you do
the following:
1) Plug in your machine
2) Turn on the water supply
Note on using your
Washer-Dryer for
the first time:
There may be
water left inside
your machine
after factory tests
and trials.
•The first time you run a
wash cycle, you should not
put laundry in your machine
as it may need to drain water.
•Pour half a measuring cup of
normal or all purpose detergent
into compartment 2 ( ) in your
detergent dispenser and select a
short washing programme (without
pre-wash).
•Start the programme.
•Wait until the programme finishes.
