Introduction
■Thank you for selecting the Bayby BBM7001 Digital Audio Baby Monitor. This digital baby monitor
is agreat child care accessory that enables you to hear your baby when you are not in the same
room. Nevertheless, it is important to understand that it cannot serve as asubstitute for responsible
adult supervision.
■The sound detected by the baby unit is transmitted to the parent unit. FHSS digital wireless technology
is utilised for transmitting the audio signal. This guarantees very high quality audio transmission up
to arange of 300metres.
■The encrypted wireless transmission and automatic available channel selection features guarantee
privacy and the peace of mind that you will hear only your child.
■The baby monitor features aVOX function that enables avoice activated transmission mode. The
baby monitor will thus always start transmitting when it detects any voice or noise. When no sound
is being transmitted, the baby monitor will automatically switch to the ECO mode. This reduces the
transmission power to ensure power efficient operation.
■You will be informed about an exceeded signal range, loss of signal or interference by means of an
acoustic alarm and the respective LED indicator light.
■Volume is adjustable. Furthermore, the parent unit is also equipped with an LED noise level indicator.
■Both units have alow battery level indicator.
■The parent unit and the baby unit are powered using the supplied power adapters or AAA batteries
(3x1.5V for each unit).

Installation location of the baby unit and parent unit
1. Baby unit
■Locate the baby unit A1within reach of apower socket on an even, dry and stable surface in the room
where you want to monitor your child. We recommend an elevated location (e.g. chest of drawers or
ashelf) at asufficient distance away from equipment and devices that could cause signal interference.
■The baby unit A1should be located at least 1m away from your child to minimise the effects of
electro-smog.
!
Never locate the baby unit A1or the power adapter A3, A4in the baby'sbed or within your
child'sreach.
2. Parent unit
■Put the parent unit A2in the room where you will be located. When the parent unit A2is to be
powered from the grid, locate it within reach of apower socket.
Power source
1. Baby unit
■External power source and its use
– For powering the baby unit A1, use only the original power adapter A3model number
RY050100EU-B including the power cord A4.
– Insert the plug of the power cord A4into the socket B9that is located on the side of the baby
unit A1. Insert the plug of the power adapter A3into apower socket.
2. Parent unit
■External power source and its use
– For powering the parent unit A2, use only the original power adapter A3model number
RY050100EU-B including the power cord A4.
– Insert the plug of the power cord A4into the socket C0that is located on the side of the
parent unit A2. Insert the plug of the power adapter A3into apower socket.
!

The supplied power adapters A3and cords A4are identical and interchangeable between both
units. Both units A1, A2may also be powered via the A4cord from an external USB interface
(e.g. computer, powerbank, etc.). In this case, always check that there are no batteries inserted in
the units A1, A2.
!
Attention:
Before connecting the power adapter A3to apower socket, make sure the voltage stated on its
rating label corresponds to the voltage in the power socket.

3. Internal power source and its use
– Battery operation minimises electro-smog which arises due to the effect of alternating electric
and magnetic fields.
Note:
– In the event that you are planning not to use the baby monitor for an extended period of time,
take the batteries out of the units A1and A2and store them out of children'sreach.
– For powering the baby unit and the parent unit from an internal power source, use standard
single-use AAA batteries (3x1.5V1.5Vper each unit).
– The baby monitor is not abattery charger.
– From the rear side of the baby unit and the parent unit A1andA2, release the bottom parts
of the belt clips B6aC7by pulling downwards. Open the battery compartment cover B8
andC9by pulling. Insert 3xAAA batteries into the battery compartment B8, C9. When
inserting the batteries, make sure that you maintain the correct polarity, which is marked in the
battery compartment B8, C9. Close the battery cover B8, C9. Attach the belt clip B6
andC7to its initial position by pulling the side part upwards.
!
If you decide to power the units A1or A2using power adapters and batteries are still inserted
inside, then first remove these batteries from both units.
Using the baby monitor
1. Turning the baby unit and the parent unit on and off
■Turn on the baby unit and the parent unit A1, A2by setting the switch B5, C6to the "ON" posi-
tion and the indicator light B2,C3will be lit green.
■Turn off the baby unit and the parent unit A1, A2by setting the switch B5, C6to the "OFF"
position and the indicator light B2,C3will turn off.
■When you have finished using the baby unit and the parent unit A1, A2, always turn it off and
disconnect the power adapter A3from the power socket.
2. Pairing the units
The baby unit A1is paired with the parent unit A2in advance. Under normal circumstances, it is
not necessary to pair the units. However, in the event that the connection is lost, then it is necessary
to pair the units again in order for the baby monitor to function. Set switch B5, C6to the "PAIR" po-
sition. Power indicators B2, C3will flash, and the pairing process is finished when abeep is made.
3. Volume setting
The volume of both units can be adjusted by turning the volume control dials B4, C5up and down.
The sound detected by the baby unit A1is transmitted to the parent unit A2. LED indicator lights
C2will inform you about audio transmission. This will be particularly useful when the parent unit
A2is set to alow volume.
4. Low battery power indicator
The low battery power indicator B2, C3will start flashing rapidly when battery capacity falls below
acertain level. The unit will shut off when the battery capacity falls below 3.0V.

5. Notification that the unit is outside the signal range (only on the parent unit).
In the event that the units are outside the communications range or one of the units has alow bat-
tery power level or is turned off, the parent unit will start beeping and the volume indicator C2will
simultaneously start to flash.
General information about using the baby monitor
■Before using the baby monitor for monitoring your child, always check that both the baby and parent
unit A1andA2are in working order, that there is aconnection between the units and that audio
is being transmitted. The connection between the units is indicated by the Connection/On LED
indicator light B2, C3.
■To increase the signal range, place the baby unit A1in an elevated location as close as possible to
the door or window.
■Other radio waves may interfere with the signal transmission. For this reason, do not place the baby
monitor in the vicinity of appliances such as e.g. amicrowave oven or WLAN devices, etc.
■The following factors may interfere with the signal or reduce its range:
– one of the units is covered,
– obstacles in the signal transmission direction such as furniture, walls, trees, etc.
– weather events such as fog, rain, etc.
Troubleshooting
■No connection
– The unit or both units are turned off. Check that the switch B5, C6is in the "ON" position.
– Check whether the batteries are inserted, e.g. if the unit or both the units are powered from
the mains.
– The batteries may have alow capacity, replace them.
■Sound is not being transmitted.
– Check that you do not have the sound on the baby unit set too low or turned off. Increase the
volume by turning the volume dial B4on the baby unit to ahigher level.
– Check that you do not have the sound on the parent unit set too low or turned off. Increase the
volume by turning the volume dial C5on the parent unit to ahigher level.
– The units are outside the signal range or have lost their connection. Try bringing the units closer
together or pairing them if necessary. Remove any obstacles preventing signal transmission
such as microwave ovens, furniture, etc.
■Signal interference
– The units are located too close to each other. Keep the units at least 1metre apart.
– The volume control dial on the parent unit is set too high. Turn down the volume on the parent
unit.
– Check the polarity of the batteries or replace them.
Cleaning and maintenance
■Before cleaning the baby monitor, disconnect it from the power socket.
■To clean the parent unit and the baby unit and the power adapters, use aclean, dry cloth.
■For cleaning, do not use abrasive cleaning products, solvents, thinners, etc. Never submerge the
