Introduction
■Thank you for selecting the Bayby BBM7011 Digital Audio Baby Monitor. This
digital baby monitor is agreat child care accessory that enables you to hear
your baby when you are not in the same room. Nevertheless, it is important to
understand that it cannot serve as asubstitute for responsible adult supervision.
■The sound detected by the baby unit is transmitted to the parent unit. FHSS
digital wireless technology is utilised for transmitting the audio signal. This
guarantees very high quality audio transmission up to arange of 300metres.
■The encrypted wireless transmission and automatic available channel selection
features guarantee privacy and the peace of mind that you will hear only your
child.
■The baby monitor features aVOX function that enables avoice activated trans-
mission mode. The baby monitor will thus always start transmitting when it de-
tects any voice or noise. When no sound is being transmitted, the baby monitor
will automatically switch to the ECO mode. This reduces the transmission power
to ensure power efficient operation.
■If you need to calm the baby down, you can use the two-way communication
function.
■On the LCD display of the parent unit and the baby unit you can monitor the
air temperature in the room, where the baby unit is located, the battery power
level and loss of signal.
■The PAGE function will help you to locate alost parent unit.
■Volume is adjustable.
■The parent unit and the baby unit are powered using the supplied power
adapters or AAA batteries (3×1.5V). The parent unit comes included with
3×rechargeable AAA batteries.

■This baby monitor meets all relevant standards and
its use is safe when all the instructions contained in
this manual are followed.
■The baby monitor serves to monitor your child when
you are not in the same room and cannot supervise it
directly. Nevertheless, it is important to keep in mind
that your child'ssafety comes first and therefore this
baby monitor cannot serve as asubstitute for super-
vision by aresponsible adult.
■This baby monitor is intended for home (private) use
only. It is not intended for commercial purposes.
■After unpacking the baby monitor and its accessories
from the packaging material, place the plastic bags in
asafe location out of children'sreach. In the presence
of children, plastic bags may present asuffocation
hazard.
■Only use the baby monitor with the original adapters
that came with it.
■Never use the baby monitor with accessories that are
not approved by the manufacturer.
■Before connecting the power adapter to apower
socket, make sure the voltage stated on its rating

label corresponds to the voltage in the power socket.
Position the power cord of the power adapter so that
it will not be tripped over.
■The baby monitor may only be operated by adults.
■Children must not play with the baby monitor. Keep
the baby monitor, power adapters and batteries out
of children'sreach.
■Before first using the baby monitor, acquaint yourself
with its functions and before every use, make sure
that both the baby and parent unit are in working
order.
■Ensure that the baby monitor and the power adapter
do not come into contact with hot surfaces or sharp
objects.
■Do not place the baby monitor in the vicinity of water
containers or appliances that are sources of heat.
■Do not cover the baby monitor and do not place any
items on it.
■Do not use the baby monitor in an excessively dusty
or humid environment. Do not subject it to extreme
temperature changes and electromagnetic fields.
■Do not submerge the baby monitor and its accesso-

ries in water or rinse it under running water.
■Always disconnect the baby monitor from the power
socket when not using it, after the batteries have been
recharged (on the parent unit) and before cleaning it.
■Do not disconnect the power adapter from the pow-
er socket by pulling on the power cord. This could
damage the power adapter or the power socket. Dis-
connect the power adapter from the power socket
by pulling on the plug.

■To power the parent unit from an internal power
source, use the supplied rechargeable batteries type
AAA (3×1.2V600mAh NI-MH) or standard non-re-
chargeable batteries type AAA(1.5V).
■For powering the baby unit from an internal power
source, only use commonly available type AAAbat-
teries (1.5V).
■When not using the baby monitor for an extended
period of time, remove the batteries from the units.
■Keep the batteries out of children'sreach as they may
present ahazard to achild. In the event that achild
swallows abattery, immediately seek medical help.

■Do not attempt to short circuit or break the battery
or throw it into afire. Do subject the battery to direct
sunlight, fire, etc.
■Do not make any alterations to the baby monitor that
would change its electrical or mechanical properties.
■The baby monitor must not be operated with auxil-
iary amplifiers of high-frequency power or directional
antennas.
■Do not use the baby monitor if it is in any way dam-
aged or if the power adapter is damaged.
■Do not attempt to repair the baby monitor yourself.
Have all repairs or adjustments performed at an au-
thorised service centre.
■By tampering with the product you risk voiding your
legal rights arising from unsatisfactory performance
or quality warranty.
■We recommend saving the original box, packaging
material, receipt and responsibility statement of the
vendor or warranty card for the duration of warranty.
It is appropriate to transport the baby monitor in its
original box.

Installation location of the baby unit and
parent unit
1. Baby unit
■Locate the baby unit A1within reach of apower socket on an even, dry and
stable surface in the room where you want to monitor your child. We recommend
an elevated location (e.g. chest of drawers or ashelf) at asufficient distance
away from equipment and devices that could cause signal interference.
■The baby unit A1should be located at least 1m away from your child to
minimise the effects of electro-smog.

Never locate the baby unit A1or the power adapter A3, A4in the ba-
by'sbed or within your child'sreach.
2. Parent unit
■Put the parent unit A2in the room where you will be located. When the parent
unit A2is to be powered from the grid, locate it within reach of apower socket.
Power source
1. Baby unit
■External power source and its use
– For powering the baby unit A1, use only the original power adapter A3
model number RY050100EU-B including the power cord A4.
– Insert the plug of the power cord A3, incl. cable A4, into the socket
C2that is located on the side of the baby unit A1. Insert the plug of the
power adapter A3into apower socket.

2. Parent unit
■External power source and its use
– For powering the parent unit A2, use only the original power adapter
A3model number RY050100EU-B including the power cord A4.
– Insert the plug of the power cord A3, incl. cable A4, into the socket
B2that is located on the side of the baby unit A2. Insert the plug of the
power cord A3into apower socket.

The supplied power adapters A3and cords A4are identical and inter-
changeable between both units.
!
Attention:
Before connecting the power adapter A3to apower socket, make sure the
voltage stated on its rating label corresponds to the voltage in the power socket.
3. Internal power source and its use
■Battery operation minimises electro-smog which arises due to the effect of
alternating electric and magnetic fields.
Note:
■In the event that you are planning not to use the baby monitor for an extended
period of time, take the batteries out of the units A1and A2and store them
out of children'sreach.
A. Baby unit
■For powering the baby unit A1from an internal power source, only use com-
monly available single-use type AAA batteries (3×1.5V). The baby unit does
not charge batteries.

B. Parent unit
!
■To power the parent unit A2from an internal power source, use the supplied
rechargeable batteries type AAA (3×1.2V600mAh NI-MH) or standard
batteries type AAA (3×1.5V).
■Prior to using the supplied rechargeable batteries from the internal power source,
first charge the supplied batteries for the parent unit A2. You may use the parent
unit A2while it is charging. Full charging of the supplied rechargeable batteries
of the parent unit takes approximately 8hours when the unit is turned off.
■Never charge the supplied rechargeable batteries in an external charger, rather
only in the parent unit. Different types of rechargeable batteries than those
supplied cannot be charged in the parent unit.
C. Battery installation
■From the rear side of the baby and parent unit A1andA2release the top
clip-in middle part of the belt clip B9, C9by pulling it towards yourself, and
release and remove the entire belt clip by pulling it upwards.
■Remove the battery compartment cover B0andCqa.
■Insert 3×AAA batteries into compartment B0of the baby unit and the supplied
3×rechargeable AAA batteries into the compartment Cqa of the parent unit.
When inserting the batteries, make sure that you maintain the correct polarity,
which is marked in the battery compartment B0, Cqa. Close the battery cover
B0, Cqa. Secure the belt clip B9andC9to its initial position by clicking in
the top part of the clip on the rear side of the unit A1,A2.

If you decide to power the units A1or A2using power adapters and bat-
teries are still inserted inside, then first remove these batteries from both units.

Using the baby monitor
1. Turning the baby unit and the parent unit on and off
■The baby unit and parent unit A1, A2will automatically turn on when con-
nected to mains power or when batteries are inserted, or the baby unit and
parent unit A1, A2will be turned on by holding down button B4, C4for
two seconds. The turned on state is indicated by the LCD display C5turning
on for 5seconds and if no sound is being transmitted, the LCD display will turn
off and the unit will switch to the stand-by mode.
■To turn off the baby and parent unit A1, A2hold down button B4, C4for
2seconds. The turned off state is indicated by the LCD display C5turning off.
■When you have finished using the baby unit and the parent unit A1, A2, al-
ways turn it off and disconnect the power adapter A3from the power socket.
If batteries are being charged in the parent unit A2, disconnect the power
adapter A3from the power socket only after the charging process is complete.
2. Pairing the units
■The baby unit A1is paired with the parent unit A2in advance. Under normal
circumstances, it is not necessary to pair the units. However, in the event that
the connection is lost, then it is necessary to pair the units again in order for
the baby monitor to function.
■First turn off both units by pressing button B4, C4and turn them on again
by pressing the reduce volume button B8, C0and simultaneously the On/
Off button B4, C4for 2seconds. End of pairing is indicated by asingle beep
and the LCD display being lit.
3. Volume setting
■Increase the volume by pressing button B6, C6.
■Reduce the volume by pressing button B8, C0.
4. Low battery power indicator
■The low battery power icon D3will start flashing when battery capacity falls
below acertain level. At the same time, the low battery level will be indicated
by abeep.

5. Notification that the unit is outside the signal range (only on the parent
unit).
■In the event that the units are outside the communications range or one of
the units has alow battery power level or is turned off, the parent unit will start
beeping and the icon D1will simultaneously start to flash.
6. Talk back (talk to the child)
■Press and hold down the two-way communication button B1for the time
for which you wish to speak to your child. Your voice will be heard from the
speaker C3of the baby unit.
7. Temperature sensor
■The temperature sensor C8senses the temperature in the room where the
baby unit A1is located.
■The temperature will be shown on both the units 30 – 60seconds after the
baby unit A1is turned on.
8. PAGE function (only on the baby unit)
■The PAGE function will help you locate the parent unit in the event that you have
forgotten where you have placed it.
■Press button PAGE C1on the baby unit.
■The parent unit will beep 3×.
■Press the button PAGE C1again to locate the parent unit A2.
General information about using the baby
monitor
■Before using the baby monitor for monitoring your child, always check that
both the baby and parent unit A1andA2are in working order, that there is
aconnection between the units and that audio is being transmitted.
■To increase the signal range, place the baby unit A1in an elevated location as
close as possible to the door or window.

■Other radio waves may interfere with the signal transmission. For this reason, do
not place the baby monitor in the vicinity of appliances such as e.g. amicrowave
oven or WLAN devices, etc.
■The following factors may interfere with the signal or reduce its range:
– one of the units is covered,
– obstacles in the signal transmission direction such as furniture, walls,
trees, etc.
– weather events such as fog, rain, etc.
Troubleshooting
■No connection
– The unit or both units are turned off. Press the On/Off button B4, C4
on both the units.
– Check whether the batteries are inserted, e.g. if the unit or both the units
are powered from the mains.
– The batteries may have alow capacity, replace them, or recharge them
(on the parent unit).
■Sound is not being transmitted.
– Check that you do not have the sound on the baby unit set too low or
turned off. Increase the volume to ahigher level by pressing button C6
on the baby unit.
– Check that you do not have the sound on the parent unit set too low or
turned off. Increase the volume to ahigher level by pressing button B6
on the parent unit.
– The units are outside the signal range or have lost their connection. Try
bringing the units closer together or pairing them if necessary. Remove
any obstacles preventing signal transmission such as microwave ovens,
furniture, etc.
■Signal interference
– The units are located too close to each other. Keep the units at least
1metre apart.
– The volume on the parent unit is set too high. Turn down the volume on
the parent unit.

Cleaning and maintenance
■Before cleaning the baby monitor, disconnect it from the power socket.
■To clean the parent unit and the baby unit and the power adapters, use aclean,
dry cloth.
■For cleaning, do not use abrasive cleaning products, solvents, thinners, etc.
Never submerge the baby monitor or its power adapters in water or rinse
under running water.
