Introduction:
This Sniffer demonstration unit is used to provide a visual and
audible representation of AC-power-line noise that is detected within
an 115VAC or 230VAC electrical circuit at 50/60Hz.

Operation Procedure:
Step 1: Select Power-Supply Setting (Figure 1)
The default setting for the input power supply is 115V. If you are in
a 230V power environment, please set the “power supply selection
switch” to 230V. The input power-supply voltage (115V or 230V) will
be visible directly on the switch for your verification.
Caution: You must verify that the correct input power voltage is
selected, or the unit will be damaged if the switch is not in the
proper position.
Step 2: Power-Supply Connection (Figure 1 and Figure 2)
Connect the included power cable to the Sniffer. Once the power
cable is connected, the “Power On/Off” LED will illuminate and the
liquid crystal display (LCD) will display the line-noise status.
Note: To silence the loudspeaker, please press the “Sound”
button once.

Step 3: Adjusting the Sensitivity Level
There are nine sensitivity levels displayed on the LCD. When the
power is first connected, the default sensitivity level is 1. You can
change the sensitivity level from 1 to 9 with the “Sensitivity ▲” and
“Sensitivity ▼” buttons. Setting the sensitivity to a higher number
increases the amount of AC-line noise that will be detected.
Step 4: Saving the AC-Line-Noise Level
You can compare the AC-line noise between different AC-line sources.
Press the “Memory” button once to save the present level of the
AC-line noise. The line-noise level will be saved and will display on the
LCD as the “reference” noise level. Then, plug the power cable into
a different AC-power source and you can compare the AC-line noise
between both sources.
Step 5: Turning the Loudspeaker On/Off
Press the “Sound” button once to turn the loudspeaker “on”. You
will see the “Sound” indicator (green LED) illuminate. This provides
an audible representation of the AC-line noise. You can turn the
loudspeaker “off” by pressing the “Sound” button again.
Note: You can press the “Memory” button to remember your last
setting for the loudspeaker. You can have the loudspeaker default
to either an “on” or “off” by pressing the “Memory” button before
unplugging the unit.

9. Sensitivity Settings: Change the sensitivity levels from 1 to 9.
The higher the sensitivity number, the greater the amount of AC-
line noise that will be detected.
5-Year Product Warranty:
Belkin Corporation warrants to the original purchaser of the PureAV
Power Line Sniffer, that the PureAV Power Line Sniffer shall be free
of defects in design, assembly, material, or workmanship, and will
repair or replace, at its option, any defective unit free of charge up to
five years from the date of purchase.
Maintenance and Customer Service:
This Power Line Sniffer requires no special maintenance. Please
remove the power cable before cleaning the Unit. Use a soft, lint-free
cloth to remove dust and dirt from the Unit. A lightly dampened cloth
can be used to clean the LCD.
If the Sniffer is malfunctioning, please contact Belkin Customer
Service. Do not attempt to open the housing to repair the unit your-
self.

L’Analyseur de ligne secteur propose une représentation visuelle et
auditive du bruit secteur détecté sur un circuit électrique CA de 115 V
ou 230 V à 50/60 Hz.

Utilisation :
Étape 1 : Sélection du courant secteur (Figure 1)
Le réglage par défaut du courant secteur en entrée est de 115 V. Si
vous vous trouvez dans un environnement avec un courant secteur
de 230 V, veuillez déplacer l’interrupteur à 230 V. Le type de courant
secteur (115 V ou 230 V) apparaît directement sur l’interrupteur.
Attention : Assurez-vous d’avoir choisi le courant secteur
approprié ; si l’interrupteur est à la mauvaise position, l’unité
sera endommagée.
Étape 2 : Branchement à la ligne secteur (Figure 1 et Figure 2)
Branchez le câble d’alimentation inclus à l’analyseur. Lorsque le câble
d’alimentation est branché, le témoin « Power On/Off » s’allume et
l’écran à cristaux liquides (LCD) affiche l’état du bruit de ligne.
Remarque : Pour éteindre le son du haut-parleur, appuyez une fois
sur le bouton « Sound » (Son).

Étape 3 : Réglage du niveau de sensibilité
Neuf niveaux de sensibilité apparaissent à l’écran LCD. Lorsque
l’analyseur est relié à l’alimentation secteur pour la première fois, le
niveau par défaut est 1. Vous pouvez modifier le niveau de sensibilité
de 1 à 9 à l’aide des boutons « Sensitivity ▲ » et « Sensitivity ▼ ».
L’accroissement du niveau de sensibilité augmente la quantité de
bruit secteur détecté.
Étape 4 : Sauvegarde du niveau de bruit secteur
Vous pouvez comparer le bruit de la ligne secteur entre diverses
sources d’alimentation secteur. Appuyez une fois sur le bouton
« Memory » pour enregistrer le niveau actuel de bruit sur la ligne
secteur. Le niveau de bruit de la ligne secteur est enregistré et
apparaît sur l’écran LCD en tant que niveau de « référence ». Ensuite,
branchez le câble d’alimentation dans une autre prise secteur pour
comparer le niveau de bruit de ligne secteur entre les deux sources.
Étape 5 : Haut-parleur On/Off
Appuyez une fois sur le bouton « Sound » pour mettre le haut-
parleur en fonction. Vous verrez le témoin « Sound » (vert) s’allumer.
Le haut-parleur propose une représentation sonore du bruit de la
ligne secteur. Vous pouvez éteindre le haut-parleur en appuyant de
nouveau sur le bouton « Sound ».
Remarque : Vous pouvez appuyer sur « Memory » pour garder en
mémoire votre réglage du haut-parleur. Le réglage du haut-parleur
peut être réglé à « en fonction » (on) ou « éteint » (off) en appuyant
sur le bouton « Memory » avant de débrancher l’unité.

9. Réglage de la sensibilité : Réglez le niveau de sensibilité de 1 à
9. Plus le niveau de sensibilité est élevé, plus le niveau de bruit de
ligne secteur détecté est élevés.

Entretien et service clientèle :
L’Analyseur de bruit secteur ne requiert aucun entretien particulier.
Veuillez débrancher le câble d’alimentation avant de procéder au nettoy-
age de l’unité. Utilisez un chiffon doux et non pelucheux pour nettoyer la
poussière et les saletés sur l’unité. Vous pouvez utiliser un chiffon légère-
ment humidifié pour nettoyer l’écran ACL.
Si l’Analyseur ne fonctionne pas correctement, communiquez avec le
service clientèle Belkin. N’ouvrez pas le boîtier pour réparer l’unité l’unité
vous-même.

Schritt 1: Einstellung der Eingangsspannung (Abb. 1)
Die Werkseinstellung für die Eingangsspannung ist 115 V. In einem
230-V-Stromkreis müssen Sie den Spannungsschalter auf 230 V
einstellen. Sie können am Schalter genau sehen, welche Spannung
eingestellt ist (115 V oder 230 V).
Achtung: Sie müssen überprüfen, ob die richtige
Eingangsspannung eingestellt ist; wenn der Schalter sich nicht in
der richtigen Position befindet, kann das Gerät beschädigt werden.
Schritt 2: Anschluss des Netzkabels (Abb. 1 und Abb. 2)
Schließen Sie das enthaltene Netzkabel an den Rauschdetektor an.
Wenn das Netzkabel angeschlossen ist, leuchtet die Betriebsanzeige
auf und das LCD-Display zeigt den Rauschpegel an.
Hinweis: Drücken Sie einmal auf die Taste “Sound”, wenn Sie den
Lautsprecher ausstellen wollen.

Schritt 3: Einstellung der Empfindlichkeitsstufe
Auf dem LCD-Display werden neun Empfindlichkeitsstufen angezeigt.
Werkseitig ist die Empfindlichkeitsstufe 1 eingestellt. Sie können sie
über die Empfindlichkeitstasten (Sensitivity) ▲ und ▼ abstimmen.
Wenn Sie eine höhere Empfindlichkeit einstellen, wird mehr
Leitungsrauschen gemessen.
Schritt 4: Rauschpegel speichern
Sie können das Leitungsrauschen verschiedener Quellen miteinander
vergleichen. Drücken Sie auf die Speichertaste (Memory), um
den aktuellen Rauschpegel zu speichern. Der Rauschpegel wird
gespeichert und auf dem LCD-Display als Referenz-Rauschpegel
(reference) angezeigt. Schließen Sie dann das Netzkabel an eine
andere Stromquelle an und vergleichen Sie den Rauschpegel beider
Quellen.
Schritt 5: Ein- und Ausschaltung des Lautsprechers
Drücken Sie einmal auf die Taste “Sound”, um den Lautsprecher
einzuschalten. Daraufhin leuchtet die LED-Anzeige “Sound” grün
auf. So wird das Leitungsrauschen akustisch angezeigt. Sie können
den Lautsprecher ausschalten, indem Sie erneut auf die Taste
“Sound” drücken.
Hinweis: Sie können auf die Taste “Memory” (Speicher) drücken,
wenn Sie die letzte Einstellung des Lautsprechers speichern wollen.
Der Lautsprecher lässt sich so einstellen, dass er standardmäßig
entweder ein- oder ausgeschaltet ist. Hierzu müssen Sie auf die Taste
“Memory” (Speicher) drücken, bevor Sie die Stromverbindung des
Geräts unterbrechen.

9. Empfindlichkeitseinstellungen: Wählen Sie eine
Empfindlichkeitsstufe zwischen 1 und 9. Je höher die Zahl, desto
mehr Rauschen wird gemessen.

Rauschdetektors, dass der PureAV Rauschdetektor frei von Material-,
Verarbeitungs- und Konstruktionsfehlern ist.
Wartung und Kundendienst:
Der Rauschdetektor erfordert keine spezielle Wartung. Bitte nehmen
Sie das Netzkabel ab, bevor Sie das Gerät reinigen. Verwenden Sie zur
Entfernung von Staub und Schmutz ein fusselfreies Tuch. Zur Reinigung
des LCD-Displays kann ein feuchtes Reinigungstuch verwendet werden.
Wenden Sie sich an den Belkin Kundendienst, wenn der Rauschdetektor
nicht ordnungsgemäß funktioniert. Versuchen Sie nicht, das Gehäuse zu
öffnen, um das Gerät selbst zu reparieren.

Gebruiksaanwijzing:
Stap 1: Selecteer de voedingsinstelling (Afbeelding 1)
De standaard instelling voor de ingangsspanning is 115 V. Indien u
zich in een 230V-voedingsomgeving bevindt, zet dan de voedings-
keuzeschakelaar op 230 V. De ingangsspanning (115 V of 230 V)
is direct af te lezen op de schakelaar, zodat u zeker weet dat de
instelling correct is.
Let op: Controleer de ingangsspanning voor gebruik. Als de
schakelaar niet in de juiste stand staat, kan het apparaat
beschadigd raken.
Stap 2: Voedingsaansluiting (Afbeelding 1 en Afbeelding 2)
Sluit de meegeleverde voedingskabel aan op de ruisdetector. Zodra
de voedingskabel is aangesloten, zal het het voedingslampje gaan
branden en zal het lcd-display de lijnruisstatus weergeven.
Opmerking: Om de luidspreker uit te zetten, drukt u een maal op de
“Sound” (Geluid) knop.
