firmly intothe groovesat the top ofthe

IMPORTANT- beforeinsertingthe screws
intothe handle,slidethe cordwrap into the
handle.

firmly fit to the vacuumbody.If thereare
anygaps,continueto pushfirmly untilthe
handleandcordwrap areflush.
Insert2 ofthe screws provided(3total)
intothe existingholes,attachingthe cord
wrapand handleto the bodyofthe vacuum.
Tightensecurelywith ascrewdriver.
Attachthe hoseandcordclip bysnapping
it intothe handleofthe unit.Secureit by
insertingthe screw provided.
Attachthe lower hoseclip bysnappingit
into placeandtwisting to the right.

Attach vacuum hose and tools
1. Lineup thetabs on the baseofthe Twist'n
Snaphosewith the correspondingnotches
onthe hosecollar as shown.

tolock the hoseintoplace.
Connectthe curvedhosewand tothe hose.
Graspingthe curved hosewand,slidethe
endof the curvedhosewand ontothe hose
wandbase.Snapthe hoseintothe hoseclip.
NOTE:Thevacuumwill notoperateeffectively
unlessthe curvedhosewand isfirmly attached.
4. Slidethe extensionwandandcrevicetool
togetherintothe storageclip.
5. Slidethe dustingbrush/upholsterytool into
the storageclip.
6. Attachthe TurboBrushbysnappingit onto
thetop cap of the uppertank.

Clean filter indicator
SelectModelsOnly
Thecleanfilterindicatortellsyouwhentheairflow
in yourvacuumisreducedduetodirtyfiltersora
cloginthehose.Thecleanfilterindicatorwill remain
greenwhiletheunitisrunninguntiltheairflowis
reducedbyaclogordirtyfilter.Atthattime,it begins
tochangeto redorblack.Whenitisfullyred,the
airflowissignificantlyreducedorcloggedbyadirty
filter.Followthestepsonpage11tocleanyour
filters.Allfiltersinthevacuumshouldbecleanedor
replacedwhenthecleanfilterindicatorturnsred.
Iftheindicatorfumsblack,it meansyouhaveaclog
inyourhose.Tocheckandremovetheclog,remove
thehosefromtheunitbyturningtheTwist'nSnap
hosetotherightTrytovisuallylocatetheclog.Once
youhavedonethis,useabluntlongobjectsuchasa
broomhandletoloosenandremovethedebris.Once
thisiscompleted,reassemblethehosetotheunit.
Ifthe indicatorremainsredor blackwith the
vacuumrunning,followthe stepson page15to
checkfor andclear clogs.
NOTE:Whenyourvacuumisturnedoff,
thecleanfilter indicatorwill gotothered
colorsetting.Thecleanfilter indicator
onlydetectsreductionsin airflowwhen
thevacuumpowerison.

Cleaningthepre-motor and replacingthe post-motor filter
1. Unplugthevacuumfrom electricaloutlet.
2. Thepre-motorfilter protectsthe motor
from dirt particles.It is locatedin the
slideouttray underneaththe dirt
container.If thefilter becomesdirty,pull
outthetray,lift outthe foamfilter pad
andcleanit.
NOTE:The pre-motor filter may be
hand washed in cold water with mild
detergent. Rinsewell and air dry
thoroughly before replacing.
.Thepost-motorfilter assistsin the
filtration processto returncleanair
to the room.It is locatedbehindthe
dooronthe sideofthevacuum.If
the filter becomesdirty,openthe
door,removethefilter and replace.
NOTE:The post-meter filter is a
white, pleatedfilter. This filter is
not washable and must be replaced

genuine BISSELLreplacement belts.
Genericbelts may not meet the exacting
specifications required to keep your
vacuum operating at its peak performance.
The use of unbranded belts could lead to

2. Usingaflat bladedscrewdriver,pry the tab
onthe left andrightsideout andpullout to
removethe lens.

the newbulb bypushingit gently intothe
socketuntil the bulbsnapsintoplace.

clogsordebriswrappingaroundthebrush.
1. Unplugthe vacuumfrom electricaloutlet.
2. Ifaclogispresentordebrisisvisible,unscrew
thetwoscrewsonthe backoftheTurboBrushto
removethefaceplateandclearanyobstructions.
3. Tocleandebrisfromthe brush,removethe
brushfromthedrivebeltandcleandebris.
Repositionthe drivebelt onthe brush.

shown.Repositionfaceplateandsecurewith
two screws.

Clearing clogs
Lowsuctionor poorpickupmaybedueto aclog
inthevacuumcleaner.Ifyounoticea changein
the soundofthe motor,checkfor clogs.
1. Unplugthe vacuumfrom electricaloutlet.
2. Emptydirt container.
3. Checkuppertank for buildup or clogs.
4. Ifyou noticea clog in the uppertank, flip
the separatorplatedown, removethe debris
barrier,if necessary,and removethe article
causingthe clog.Replacedebrisbarrierand
flip separatordoor backto its originalposi-
tion. (seesection "Cleaningthe UpperTank"
on page16).

the hosewand base.Checkfor aclogin the
base,the wandor in the hose.
NOTE:Onselectunitsthathavetheclean
filter indicator,whentheindicatorreads
black,thereisa cloginthehosewhichis
diminishingsuctionpower.Removetheclog
inthehosetorestorefull suctionpower.
6. RemovetheTwist'nSnaphosefromthevacuum
byturningtotheright.Straightenthehoseand
undogwithalong,narrowobject.
7. Ifyou noticedebrisor dirt cloggedin the
connectingtube, removeit by pullingit out
atthe top andlifting the tubeout. Cleanthe
tube ofany debrisandclearanypossible
clogfromthe portto the pre-motorfilter.
Reattachtube byfirst installingthe baseand
than pushin the top of the tube.
