ETherearethreerakingheightpositionson
yourraker;low,mediumandhigh.
Theseareselectedbyalteringthepositionof
thethree-positionheightadjusterslocated
ontherearroller.
•Pressthe lockbuttons(46)oneach
three-positionheightadjuster(5)and
rotatebothadjusterstoany ofthe three
availablepositionsasshowninFig.E.
Onreachingtherequiredposition,
releasethelockbuttons(46)andallow
themto engageinyour rakerbody(1).
•Thethreepositionsareidentifiedby
markingsonthe sideofyour rakerbody
(1)as shown in Fig. E.Both three-
positionheightadjustersmustbesetto
thesameposition,ie.bothatposition
1, 2 or 3 - not at different settings.
Thethreerakingheightpositionsare
asfollows:
•Lowestsetting(1).Thissettingshouldbe
used when you wish to give the lawn a
particularlyvigorousraking.Onthis
setting,yourrakerwillremoveallthe
debrisandthatchthathascollectedat
thebase ofyourgrass. Itwillalso remove
mossandweedsonthissetting.
•Mediumsetting(2).Thissettingshould
beused when youwish togive your lawn
amoderateraking.Thissettingwillbe
suitableforthemajorityoflawns.
•Highestsetting(3).Thissettingwilllightly
rakeandsweepyourlawn. Yourraker
canalso beused onthissetting to‘lift’
flattenedgrassandstolons(thecreeping
stemsofgrassesandweedslikeclover)
sothat youcan mowthem. Thesweep/
lightrakesettingisidealforfallenleaves
andforcollectinggrasscuttingswhich
havebeenleft onthelawnafter mowing,
whenthecollectionboxisfitted.
How to use your raker (Fig. F)

Observealltherelevantwarningswhen
usingyourraker.
Tolook aftera lawnproperly, youneed todo
more than just mow it once a week
throughouttheSummer.Thelawnwillbenefit
from avigorousrakingof thegrass to
removethedeadmatter,mossandweed
whichdisfiguresa lawn.Thebuild up ofdead
grassprovidesamatofabsorbentfibres
whichpreventswatergettingthroughtothe
groundand ifthismatiskept waterlogged,it
canencouragegrassdiseasesandprevent
healthygrassestakingroot.
•Placethebulkoftheextensioncable
onthe lawn closetothe startingpoint
(Fig.F,position1).
•Holdthehandlewith bothhandsand
holdtheupperportionoftheextension
cableinthehand notoperatingthe
switchlever.

Warning! Donotattempttooperateyour
rakerwith one hand- youmust guide itwith
bothhands.
•Tostartyourraker(‘T’HandleType)slide
thesafetylock-offswitch(9)(Fig.A)to
theleftand presstheswitch lever(8).

reachingposition2,turn tothe rightand
proceedtowardsposition3.Continueto
the end of the raking area, turn to the
left,andproceedtowardsposition4.
Continueinthesamemanner as shown
inthelefthanddiagram,alwaysworking
awayfromthe cable.Donot adoptthe
methodshownintherighthanddiagram,
workingtowardsthecable,asthisis
dangerouspractice.
Whenyouhavefinishedusing your rakerwe
recommendthatyouclean all debris fromit
beforeputtingitaway.Referto“Careand
maintenance”.
Note:Toobtainthebestresultsrakeyour
lawnorgrassedarearegularlyand do not
rakewhen thegrassis wet.
•Whenraking over theedgeof yourlawn,
pressdownwardsonthehandletostop
thewheelsdroppingovertheedge.
•Toprolongtheeffectiverakinglifeofyour
tineassembly, clearthelawnareaof any
loosedebrisorstones.
Handyhints
•Donot forceyour raker throughgrassthat is too
long.Itisrecommendedthatyourrakershould
notbe usedin grass that is longerthat 75mm
(3inches)inlength.
•Donot usein wetordamp conditions.
•Toobtainthe bestresultfrom yourrakeruse it
regularly.Itisrecommendedthatyourrakeris
usedat thebeginningand endofeach grass
cuttingseasontogiveyourlawnathorough
scarifying.Yourrakershouldalsobeusedafter
