Configure your SAM-C
SAM-C has two modes:
A - crossfader
B - S.A.M.
To configure your module as a crossfader, make
sure the Ajumpers-pads are soldered, the B
jumpers-pads must not be soldered.
You can use desoldering wire to remove the solder
from the jumpers-pad.
To configure your module, the S.A.M Bjumpers-pads
must be soldered bridged and the Ajumpers-pads
must be unsoldered.
You can use desoldering wire to remove the solder
from the jumpers-pad.

Prepare resistors
the resistors must be soldered upright.
Bend one of the legs for each of the
resistors as in the picture.

For our first 0HP module, we wanted to take advantage of the benefits of passive
modules. But we also wanted to incorporate as many features as possible.The result
is SAM-C, a small module that takes up no space in your rack and can perform many
simple but useful utility functions.
BLACK NOISE warrants the contents of this kit to be free of defects in materials or workmanship and
to be conform with the specifications at the time of shipment for a period of two years from the date
of purchase.
We do not warrant, and we do not repair or take in modules to troubleshoot end-user DIY build faults
or second hand DIY products.

Build instructions
Install the 10K resistors
Place the 10K resistors R1, R2 and R5 as
shown in the picture. Do not solder the
resistors yet.

Install the 100K resistors
Place the 100K resistors R3 and R4 as
shown in the picture. Do not solder the
resistors yet.

Install the potentiometer
Install the potentiometer, do not solder it
yet.

Install the jack sockets
Install the jack sockets, don't solder it yet.

Install the faceplate
The faceplate has two sides, on one side
it says SAM below the potentiometer, on
the other side it says Crossfader. Place
the faceplate for which indicates the
selected mode.

Install the potentiometer nut
Place the nut of the potentiometer and
screw it.

Install the jack sockets nuts
Place the nuts of the jack sockets and
screw them.

Solder the components
Turn over your module and solder the
components starting with jack sockets,
the potentiometer and the resistors.

Cut the legs of the components
Once soldered, you can cut the legs of the
resistors as close as possible to the PCB.

Clean the PCB
Clean the PCB of flux and solder residue
using Isopropyl alcohol.

Install the knob
Place the potentiometer fully
anti-clockwise and place the knob. Press
down lightly. Turn the potentiometer fully
clockwise to ensure that the knob is
correctly placed. If it is not correctly
placed correct the position and repeat the
operation. Once the knob is correctly
placed push it on the shaft of the
potentiometer.
