Using this Chain Hoist for the First-Time

Before using this Chain Hoist and if you have any questions regarding the hazard and safety notices listed in this manual, call

COMMON SENSE AND CAUTION ARE FACTORS WHICH CANNOT BE BUILT INTO ANY PRODUCT.
THESE FACTORS MUST BE SUPPLIED BY THE OPERATOR. PLEASE REMEMBER:
1. Keep the work area clean. A cluttered work area may cause accidents. Make sure the work area is well lit.
2. Never use near flammable liquids or gasses.
3. Prevent electrical shock. Keep the cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges and rough surfaces. Do not
operate if cable is damaged.
4. Never allow children to operate without responsible adult supervision. When operating this tool, keep
children at a safe distance from the work area.
5. Use the chain hoist only for the job being performed. Use only for lifting heavy loads.
6. Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. They may get caught in moving parts. Never
wear rings with protruding parts. Wear a hat over long hair. Wear rubber footwear.
7. Do not exceed the capacity of the Chain Hoist. Always make sure that supporting device that the hoist is
hanging on can support the weight of the load.
8. Stay alert. Do not use when impaired by medicine, drugs, or alcohol. Watch what you are doing and use
common sense for your safety.
9. Before using the chain hoist, check that all safety devices and parts operate smoothly and
efficiently. Make sure that all moving parts are in good working order. Check for any broken parts. Make sure
all parts are fitted properly and any other conditions that might affect the proper functioning are correct.
10. Service must be performed by qualified repair personnel. Service or maintenance performed by
unqualified personnel could result in a risk or injury.

DO NOT STAND UNDER LOAD. Only stand to the side when lowering or raising. Be certain that other people
do not walk or stand under the loads.
DO NOT OVERLOAD. The Chain Hoist has a Maximum Capacity. Obey the warning label, do not exceed the
maximum capacity. 1 Ton Chain Hoist Maximum Capacity is 1 Ton. 2 Ton Chain Hoist Maximum Capacity is 2
Ton. 3 Ton Chain Hoist Maximum Capacity is 3 Ton.
DO NOT LEAVE LOAD UNSUPPORTED. Be certain supports are rated to the weight of the load.
BE CERTAIN THE SUPPORTING DEVICE CAN HANDLE THE HEAVY LOAD. The supporting device
(support beam) that the hoist is hanging from must be able to support the weight of the load. The supporting
device must be able to support at a minimum 1 Ton, 2 Ton, 3 Ton (using the 1 Ton, 2 Ton and 3 Ton Chain
Hoist). Always check the supporting device before each use.
CHAIN HOIST IS READY FOR USE. It is completely assembled and ready for use.
If the hand chain is difficult to pull, do not try to force.
1. Clean off the dirt on the chain hoist lubricate its parts with grease after use and store it in a dry place.
2. Maintenance and inspection should be made by professionals. Never allow any layman to disassemble or to assemble
the hoist.
3. While assembling the brake mechanism, care should be taken to mesh the slanting teeth of the ratchet disc and the
pawl. Make sure that the spring and pawl work sensitively and reliably. Turn the hand wheel clockwise, it must press the
disc and the plates on the brake seat, tuning it counter-clockwise. There should be clearances between the disc and the
plates.
4. After cleaning and repairing the hoist, it could be subjected to no-load test and heavy load test. A chain hoist can be put
into operation after it has been tested and found under reliable brake and in good condition.
5. Keep clean the friction surfaces of the brake. Brake mechanism should be inspected regularly for prevention of faulty
braking and falling of the load.
6. Connect the top Chain Hoist Hook into the supporting device.
7. Hook the bottom Chain Hoist Hook into the load that will be lifted. Be certain that any load-carrying straps or chains
that will be used must be able to support the capacity of the load. Do not use load-carrying straps or chains that do not
support the proper load.
8. Pull the hand chain and raise the load. Make sure the load is supported, and be aware that the load may shift.
9. As the load stops moving, slowly raise it to the proper height.
10. To lower the load, use the hand chain.
