FLOW Trouble Shooting Guide
(Model FLOW-18)
Note: The FLOW is a GRAVITY dispense system.
Incoming water enters at the top of cold tank, fills and dispenses
out the bottom of cold tank.
(At cold tank being half full, it overflows down thru the intake
port and feeds the hot tank. Weight from above forces the hot
water out).
No power
1) Check wall outlet circuit is operating and circuit
breaker or GFI is not tripped.
2) Check power cord is solidly plugged into wall
and also connected to posts correctly on the ICB
board at back of FLOW.
Remove back cover to reveal the ICB board.
3) If connections are good, the ICB board may
need to be replaced.
No Hot water dispensing

1) Depress “red slide” to unlock and press down
on hot button. This is a two-step child protection
sequence.
2) Check main water supply line is on at source
and water is flowing into rear of system.
3) Water comes from Cold Tank overflow. Thus,
cold tank water level is not full enough to overflow
and fill the hot tank. Wait for cold tank to fill high
enough. (This is especially true on RO systems –
due to slower RO discharge rate).
4) Check that hot plunger valve is connected and
operating. Remove top lid. Located inside –on
front ride side. This is a mechanical operation.
Valve may get calcified with scale and need to be
disassembled and cleaned. Remove front panel for
access.
Water NOT hot
1) Check HOT power switch is turned on to “I”
position at top rear of system.
2) Depress “reset button” on top bi-metal, located
on hot tank. Access: Facing the system, remove
front panel. (Remove four inside screws -2 on
each side. Open door and remove 1 screw on each
side from underneath panel.) Pull up to dislodge
plunger posts from valves. Reach in under the
cold tank (or use a long rod –(chop stick) to the
hot tank and depress the reset button on side of
hot tank.
3) Bi-metals may have failed and both need
replaced.

No Cold Water dispensing
1) Check main water supply line is on at source
and water is flowing into rear of system.
2) Cold tank water may have been exhausted and
drained by too much use and not had enough time
to recover. Mostly true on RO systems. Check
incoming flow at top of tank lid.
3) Check main solenoid is plugged in at ICB and
operating. Solenoid is at point of entry on lower
left back side.
5) Filter clog. Check water lines “in and out” of
each filter until water is no longer flowing. This
reveals which filter has clogged.
Water is NOT cold
1) Check COLD control is turned to left (colder
setting) near top rear of system. Right side.
Use flat screw driver tip.
2) Water level may have been drained and
exhausted by over use and not had enough to
chill new incoming water.
3) Compressor relay may have failed. Replace
with spare relay from parts dept. to confirm.
4) Check compressor if it is running continuously
and feels extremely hot to touch. If so, system
is low on coolant and needs to be recharged
with R-134A refrigerant.

Water Leak
1) Follow the leak to its source. Could be tubing
has a loose connection and not completely
seated by pushing tube inwards till it stops.
2) Check for disconnected tubing or water line or
filter connection throughout unit.
3) Check for broken, cracked or weak fitting
connection.
Water Dribbles at spout
1) Cold tank maybe empty due to over use. RO
systems require a recovery time.
2) HOT tank dispense tube may have developed
scale build up and restricted flow.
Disassemble plunger valve, clean. Also clean
out metal tube. Remove front panel to access
area.
