Limited Warranty and Warranty Claims
BlueCom AG warrants each new product manufactured and sold by it to be free from defects
in material, workmanship and construction, except for batteries, fuses, or other material
normally consumed in operation which may be contained therein, for a period of one year after
shipment to the original purchaser (which period is referred to as the “warranty period”). This
warranty shall not apply if the product is used contrary to the instructions in its manual or is
otherwise subjected to misuse, abnormal operation, accident, or repairs or modifications that
have not been performed by BlueCom. BlueCom is not responsible for products which it does
not manufacture.
BlueCom’s obligation under this warranty is limited to in-factory servicing and repairing, at
BlueCom’s option, the product or the component thereof which is found to be defective. If in
BlueCom’s judgment the defective condition in a BlueCom product is for a cause listed above
for which BlueCom is not responsible, BlueCom will make the repairs or replacement of
components and charge its then current price, which buyer agrees to pay.
BlueCom shall not be responsible if the following procedure for warranty claims is not
followed. BlueCom shall be notified of the claim with full information as the claimed defect.
BlueCom products shall not be returned unless a return authorization number is issued by
BlueCom. BlueCom products must be returned with the description of the claim defect and
identification of the individual to be contacted if additional information is needed. BlueCom
products must be returned properly packed with transportation charge prepaid.
Except for the limited warranty stated above, BlueCom disclaims all warranties of any kind
with regard to BlueCom products or other materials provided by BlueCom, including without
limitation any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. BlueCom
shall have no liability or responsibility to the original customer or any other party with respect
to any liability, loss or damage caused directly or indirectly by any BlueCom product, material
or software sold or provided by BlueCom, BlueCom replacement parts or units, or service
provided by BlueCom, including but not limited to any interruption of service, excess charges
resulting from malfunctions of hardware or software, loss of business or anticipatory profits
resulting from the use or operation of the BlueCom product or software, whatsoever or
howsoever caused, and in no event shall BlueCom be liable for any direct, indirect, special or
consequential damages whether the claims are grounded in contract, tort (including
negligence), or strict liability.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
1 Introduction
The BLUEFON COMFORT telephone set –is a custom-made analogue telephone set for
BLUECOM ECS-FD/IP PABX systems. It allows to use all the basic voice services of the
BLUECOM communication systems and provides a telephone book and call logs.

This booklet provides a description of services offered by BLUEFON COMFORT telephone.
3 Safety
Please, read the following safety advice carefully before using a BLUEFON COMFORT
telephone:
•Read these instructions and keep the document in a safe place.
•Keep the box of the telephone.
•Place your telephone on a flat and non slippery surface.
•Ensure that your telephone is not positioned in direct sunlight or near other heat
sources.
•Do not install or use your telephone in areas where there is a risk of explosion.
•Protect the telephone from humidity, water, steam, dust and aggressive liquids. Use a
slightly damp cloth to clean the plastic cabinet. Do not use petrol, thinner or chemical
solvents. Do not use abrasive powder to clean the telephone housing.
•Use the telephone in a temperature range from +5°C to +40°C.
•Only connect the connecting cable to a socket intended for analogue telephones.

4 Declaration of Conformity
BlueCom declares that the product BLUEFON COMFORT is conform to the EC directive
1999/05/EC of the European Parliament and the European Commission dated 9th of March
1999 for radio equipment and for telecommunications terminal equipment and the reciprocal
recognition of their conformity.
Affixing the mark:
on the product, object of the present declaration, guarantees the observance of the directive
1999/05/EC".
5 Environment
The product, at the end of its life-cycle must not be disposed of in the environment; its
disposal must be done according to article 13 of the Law Decree 25th July 2005, n. 151
“Implementation of the directive 2002/95/EC, 2002/96/EC and 2003/108/EC, in respect to the
the use of dangerous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, as well as the
disposal of the product”.
The crossed garbage bin symbol shown on the equipment or on its packing and also in the
following figure, indicates that the product at the end of its useful life must be collected
separately from other garbage.
The separate collection of this product when it has reached the end of its life-cycle is
organized and managed by the supplier. The user that wants to dispose this product must
contact the supplier and follow the method that they have adopted for the disposal of the
product at the end of its life-cycle.
A suitable collection method to start the process of equipment recycling, its treatment and a
compatible environmental disposal helps to avoid possible negative effects on the
environment and on health, and encourages the reuse and/or recycle of the materials
contained in the product.
The non correct disposal of the product by the owner can be punished by the local law in
place.
5.1 Battery Recycling
A not suitable recycling method of the batteries or the whole telephone set at the end of the
life-cycle, cause serious effects on the environment and on health. Therefore follow the
recommendation below:
Do not throw batteries or power supplies together with the other waste, they are subject to
differential collection; it is required to bring them to the collection center instituted by the
manufacturers under 2006/66/EC European Directive, or to the collection center organized by
local administrations. Under 2006/66/EC European Directive, the collection center service
must be free of charge.

7 Installation
7.1 Telephone Installation
1. Connect one end of handset coil cord to the handset base and the other end to the
base unit at (27). Connect one end of the telephone line cord to the base unit at (26),
and the other end to the wall outlet. In case your telephone outlet is not compatible
with RJ11 connector of the telephone line cord then you may need an adaptor, or you
should consult your distributor/retailer for assistance.
2. Insert all cables in the guides on the base of the telephone set.
3. Telephone line installation
To set up the phone for the first time, please connect the telephone to a subscriber
circuit on the PABX system. The LCD display will change from low contrast to normal
contrast. You can then operate the unit with the following steps.
4. Wall Mount
This telephone set can be mounted on a wall. To prevent the handset from falling, take
out the handset guide, rotate it for 180 degree, and then re-insert it into the original
place.
To mount the phone on the wall do the following:
-Drill 2 holes with a diameter of 5 mm each with distances shown in Figure below,
-Insert the 5 mm plastic anchor into the holes
-Fasten the screw but do not insert the screw completely. Leave 5mm distance
between screw head and the wall.
-Position the telephone against the wall over the screws so that the screws heads
insert in the larger part of the keyholes cut outs and fix the telephone by sliding it
down the screws.

7.2 Battery Installation
This telephone requires 4 batteries LR6 (AA) 1.5V as a back-up power source.
Open the battery cover with a screw driver and place the batteries into the battery
compartment. Make sure the batteries are placed properly and with the correct polarity,
printed on the bottom of the batteries compartment. Close the battery cover.
REMARKS:
If the telephone line is disconnected, batteries are needed to maintain the clock, phone setup,
outgoing call records and caller ID records.
When the Battery Low Indicator appears on the LCD display then you have to insert or
replace the batteries.
Warning:
To avoid electric shock, disconnect the telephone line cord from the phone before
installing the batteries.

8 Main Features
8.1 Phone Settings
At the on-hook or off-hook state, press OK key to go to the setting mode, the LCD will display:
VIEW MENU ↑↓. Use UP or DOWN keys to select a menu item. To change an entry item
press the OK key. After you have finished with one item, press OK key again to confirm
and/or move to another item. To change items, always use UP or DOWN keys. If you want to
quit the setting mode at any time, press C key.
The settings of different items are shown in detail below:
8.1.1 Language
When the LCD displays SELECT LANGUAGE, press OK key once, LCD will show ITALIAN
as default setting. Use UP or DOWN key to select among the languages of English / French /
German / Spanish / Italian / Danish / Portuguese.
8.1.2 Local Code
For future use.
8.1.3 Long Distance Code
For future use.
8.1.4 Date/Time
When the LCD displays: DATE/TIME , press OK key once, the year digits will flash. Use UP or
DOWN key to change the year (Step is 1), then press OK key to confirm it and move to the
setting of the hour. Repeat the operation to set the minute, day and month by turn. The LCD
will automatically display the corresponding day of the week. If the set receives a FSK caller
ID, then the current month, date and time will be updated automatically (the year remains
unchanged).
8.1.5 LCD Contrast
When the LCD displays: CONTRAST ADJUST , press OK key and then use UP or DOWN
key to select among 5 different contrast levels. The default setting is 3.
8.1.6 Baby Call
When the LCD displays BABYCALL , press OK key once and display BABYCALL OFF . Use
UP or DOWN key to turn it on and then press OK key to confirm. After setting the BABYCALL
number, press OK key to confirm.
8.1.7 Enter Phone Book Record
When the LCD displays: PHONEBOOK INPUT , press OK key once, then you can enter the
telephone number. Press OK key again to confirm the number and then input the name. Use
UP or DOWN key to move the cursor and Ckey to correct. When finished, press OK key
again to confirm. To exit the operation, press Ckey.

8.1.8 Edit Phone Book Record
When the LCD displays: PHONEBOOK EDIT , press OK key once and enter the first
character of name, you can view the corresponding telephone numbers by pressing OK key. If
you do not enter any characters and press OK key, then the first entry will be shown. Use UP
or DOWN key to select the record that you want to edit. The cursor will be flashing on the last
digit of the number. Press Ckey to backspace the number and press OK key to confirm. Then
the cursor will be flashing on the first digit of the name. Press Ckey to backspace, press UP
or DOWN key to move cursor position and press OK key to confirm. To exit the operation
press Ckey.
8.2 On Hook Operation
8.2.1 Receiving Incoming FSK & DTMF Caller ID
When receiving a phone call, the LCD will display the phone number together with the
information of name, date, time, and the number if user had applied for the Caller ID service.
A new number will carry a “NEW” icon, and a repeated number will carry a “REP” icon. A
private call (when the caller prefers his/her number to be hidden) will display “PRIVATE
CALL“. A call out of service will display “OUT OF AREA”. An incorrect incoming signal will
display “ERROR”. If it is a FSK caller ID signal, the current month, date and time display will
be updated (while the year remains unchanged). If there is no information from the PABX,
then name shown on the LCD will be same as that in the phone book.
8.2.2 Viewing the Incoming Call List
User can use UP or DOWN key to view the information of the incoming calls including phone
number, date, and time. For fast scroll, press and hold UP or DOWN key.
8.2.3 Dialling an Incoming Call Entry
For a local call, just press the REDIAL or SPEAKER / key when the caller’s number is on
display. For a long distance call, press REDIAL key twice to dial out the number with long
distance number at the beginning.
8.2.4 Viewing Outgoing Calls
User can use OUT key to view the outgoing numbers and duration of each call. To re-dial,
press SPEAKER key directly. For fast scroll, press and hold OUT key.
8.2.5 Viewing Phone Book
Press PHONE BOOK key and input the first character of name. You can the view the
corresponding telephone number by pressing PHONE BOOK key again. If you do not enter
any character and press the PHONE BOOK key then you can view the entries in sequence.
To re-dial, press REDIAL or SPEAKER key directly.
8.2.6 On Hook Dialling
Enter a phone number and press the REDIAL or SPEAKER / key to dial out. For any input
mistakes, press Ckey to correct.

8.2.7 Baby Call
Press any key except the OK key to dial out the pre-set number when BABY CALL function
has been turned on.
8.2.8 C key
1. In the setting mode, use it to correct any input mistakes or to quit any setting.
2. In the On Hook dialing mode, use it to correct any input mistakes.
3. When scrolling outgoing calls, use it to delete a phone number.
4. When scrolling incoming calls, press C key to delete a phone number. The LCD will
show DETELE, press OK key to confirm or press C key to quit. Press and hold C key
for 4 seconds to delete all the incoming calls. The LCD will show DETELE, press OK
key to confirm or press C key to quit.
5. When scrolling phone book, press C key to delete a phone book entry. The LCD will
show DETELE, press OK key to confirm or press C key to quit
8.2.9 Store a Phone Number
1. Two-touch Memory
- on-hook + pre-dialing number + OK + N(N =1 ~ 9, 0, *, # )
- on-hook + incoming call + OK + N( N = 1 ~ 9, 0, *, # )
- dial out: on-hook + MEM + N( N = 1 ~ 9, 0, *, # )
2. Phone Book Memory
- Incoming call + OK + PHONE BOOK + edit of phone book
8.2.10 Ringer Volume Control
Ringer volume can be set to 3 different level L / M / H by the slide switch at the bottom of the
phone.
8.2.11 Message Waiting Indicator
This indicator will be turn on during incoming call or special signal from some PBX.
8.3 Off Hook Operation
8.3.1 Checking Incoming and Outgoing Calls
You can use UP or DOWN key to view the information of the incoming calls including phone
number, date and time. Press OUT key to check outgoing call records.
8.3.2 Dial a Number on the Display
When a phone number is shown on LCD such as incoming call, outgoing call or a phone book
entry, press SPEAKER / key or pick up handset to dial out the number.
8.3.3 Dial F1, F2, F3 and F4 Keys
Pick up the handset or press SPEAKER / key, and then press F1 to F4 key to dial out the
specific number programmed by BlueCom PABX systems.
8.3.4 Dial Two-touch Memory
Pick up the handset or press SPEAKER / key and press MEM key and N (N=1 ~ 9, 0, * or
#).

8.3.5 Call Time
The display shows the duration of a call in progress after the number has been dialled.
8.3.6 Pause Key
Press PAUSE key to insert a delay time of 3.6 seconds in a dialling sequence.
8.3.7 Mute Key
During phone conversation, if you do not want the person on the line to hear your voice, press
MUTE key to cut off the microphone. To resume conversation, press MUTE key again.
8.3.8 FLASH Key
During off-hook state, press FLASH key for recall that is used for some PSTN network and PBX
services.
8.3.9 REDIAL Key
When the phone is off-hook, press REDIAL key to dial out the phone number which was
dialled the last time by the user.
8.3.10 In Use LED
The in use LED is on when the phone is off-hook.

8.4 Speaker Phone Operation
8.4.1 Speaker Phone Mode
To make a call, press SPEAKER key to activate the speaker phone. Press SPEAKER key to
deactivate the speaker phone and to terminate the call.
8.4.2 Speaker Volume Control
To change the speaker volume, press VOL key to adjust the volume levels during off-hook
state.
