1. UNBOXING
Getting started!
Check the filter set, power cable and plug for possible damage, if so, do not use the unit. Please contact
BluGarda.

Read these instructions carefully and follow them!
1.B CHECKING TECHNICAL DATA
Check the data on the rating plate.
The rating plate lists all important technical data.
Voltage V/Hz The listed voltage must match the existing house voltage.
Engine W This is the power consumption of the device.
Capacity The maximum number of litres per hour moved by the filter pump.
IP X Protection code, the filter may be used permanently underwater
CE The sign indicates that the product complies with European legislation.
Defective electrical appliances that have been used in the household should be disposed of according
to EU directives. This product should not be disposed of with normal household waste
but should be collected separately.
More information on local waste collection points can be found at your hometown coun-
cil.

1.D APPLICATION
This product is only suitable in freshwater with a water temperature of +4°C to +35°C, in ponds and
water features. Not suitable for sea (salt) water and/or liquids to which the product is not resistant (e.g.
chemical liquids).
The BGF filter sets are for cleaning pond water and are installed in the pond. The maximum immersion
depth is 2.0 metres. Place the filter at least 10 cm below the water surface to prevent the intake of air.
2. SAFETY
Caution! Operation of this pump is only permitted if the existing electrical
installation complies with legal standards.
The filter must never be in operation when there are people in the water! (Disconnect filter from mains).
The filter should only be connected to an installation with a residual current device (30mA) and an
earthed socket.
The socket should be placed in a moisture-free place, at least 2 metres from the water’s edge.
The filter is equipped with a built-in UV-C lamp: UV-C radiation is harmful to eyes and skin: Avoid direct
contact with the lamp. It should only be in operation when the lamp is inserted in the housing and set
up in the pond.
If in doubt, consult a competent installer.
People who cannot follow these instructions must not operate the pump!
This device is not intended for use by persons and children with physical, sensory or mental impair-
ment, or lack of experience and/or knowledge.
Unless they are accompanied by a person responsible for their safety, or by being instructed how to
use the device.
Care must be taken to ensure that children cannot play with the device.
When doing any work on the filter and/or pond or other system, with which the filter is connected, first
remove the mains plug of the filter from the socket and any other devices that are connected.
Keep the plug free of moisture. To prevent water from running through the cord to the plug, form a loop.
Before putting the filter into operation, examine the power cord and plug for damage.
If the power cord, pump or UV-C lamp is damaged, the filter should no longer be used.
Repair is not possible as the cable is firmly cast into the motor and therefore not replaceable.
Never move or hang the filter by the power cord.

2.A PREPARING THE FILTER FOR USE IN THE POND
The filter must not run dry, as this may cause damage to the device.
The filter is equipped with filter material, a UV-C device to control algae and a pump for circulation.
If desired, a drain hose can be fitted to the filter to pump treated water to a water ornament or a small
waterfall. It is also possible to mount a fountain head, which is included in the scope of delivery.
Attach the largest size hose to the hose connector provided if a drain hose is fitted, this will reduce the
capacity less.
The power cable should always be over the bottom, tension-free in the water.
Never operate the pump outside water! The motor bearings are lubricated by water. Running dry can
cause irreparable damage to the pump and the built-in UV-C device.
Once the set is properly positioned in the water, the filter can be started by plugging in socket.
3. MAINTENANCE (OVERALL)
Observe safety regulations.
The pump is low-maintenance, but not maintenance-free!
Unplug the set before removing it from the water!
To extend the life of the set and ensure trouble-free operation, we recommend regular maintenance
and cleaning. With few actions, any person can perform all maintenance work without any problems.
Never operate the pump outside the water, as this may lead to irreparable
damage.

4.A CLEANING OF THE FILTER SPONGE AND FILTER MATERIAL
Cleaning of the filter sponge and filter material depends on the degree of soiling. If the capacity de-
creases, cleaning is necessary, check this with some regularity in the first months after filter installa-
tion.
1. Unscrew the fitted fountain or hose connector (2) from the filter, open the clips (4) , then the
filter cover (3) can be taken off the housing (10).
2. Filter sponge (5) and filter boxes (8) clean under running water, never use detergents.
4.B DISMANTLING AND CLEANING THE UV-C DEVICE
Pond water flows past the quartz glass in the housing, causing (scale) deposits on the glass after some
time. UV-C light will therefore not reach the flowing water as well, reducing its effect. Periodically clean
the quartz glass together with the filter material.

1. Remove filter cover as described above.
2. Open 2x locking screws. Remove the pump with UV-C device from the housing.
3. Open the pump coupling; the pump can be taken off the UV-C unit
4. Open the clip. The lamp housing with quartz glass can be rotated counterclockwise from the
holder.
Avoid direct contact with the lamp: hold UV-C lamp with a cloth
5. Clean quartz glass; unscrew swivel (4) and remove the glass from housing1. Do not use deter-
gents, clean glass with a cloth or soft brush under running water. Dry the glass well on the inside and
reassemble.
6. The UV-C lamp (8) should bereplaced every season, or after 8,000 burning hours. The lamp still
burns after this period, but the UV-C radiation is minimal because the gas in the lamp is consumed.
Remove the lamp from the holder (9) and fit new lamp.
Caution: position all sealing rings (5) and (7) in the right place during as-

4.C DISMANTLING AND CLEANING THE PUMP
The rotor with impeller can become fouled by lime-laden water. Lime deposits can block the pump if
cleaning is not done in time.
Check this regularly, especially in the first months of use. The degree of fouling depends entirely on the
water quality.
If the motor is overloaded, the built-in motor protection will switch off the pump, it can also switch on
again after some time if the motor was too hot and has cooled down again.
If switching on and off continues, irreparable damage may occur to the engine.
1. Turn pump housing (1) counterclockwise one turn and remove from motor (6)
2. Rotor (3) clean under running water.
3. Clean pump housing (1) inside under running water.
Note: check the sealing ring (4) and bearing caps (2) in pump casing and
motor during assembly, usually they remain wedged in the casing during
disassembly.

2. Take the filter sponge (11-12) and clean under running water, never use detergents for this.
3. Open the filter housing (13) with clips, clean the pump as described under section 3.C. Clean the
filter material16 under running water.
5.B DISMANTLING AND CLEANING THE UV-C DEVICE
Pond water flows past the quartz glass in the housing, causing (scale) deposits on the glass after some
time. UV-C light will therefore not reach the flowing water as well, reducing its effect. Periodically clean
the quartz glass together with the filter material.
Avoid direct contact with the lamp: hold UV-C lamp with a cloth
The UV-C lamp with quartz glass (23-27) can be removed from the housing very easily by turning it
once to the left.
1. Clean the quartz glass; unscrew the swivel (25) and remove the glass from the housing (23). Do
not use detergents, clean glass with a cloth or soft brush under running water. Dry the glass well on
the inside and reassemble.

2. The UV-C lamp (26) should be replaced every season, or after 8,000 burning hours. The lamp
still burns after this period, but the UV-C radiation is minimal because the gas in the lamp is consumed.
Remove the lamp from the holder (27) and fit new lamp.
Caution: position all sealing rings (5) and (7) in the correct position during
assembly

time. UV-C light will therefore not reach the flowing water as well, reducing its effect. Periodically clean
the quartz glass together with the filter material.

The UV-C lamp with quartz glass (16-18) can be removed from the housing very easily by unscrewing
the case with a screwdriver. Then turn the head and dismantle the UV-c device.
1. Clean the quartz glass; unscrew the swivel and remove the glass from the housing Do not use
detergents, clean glass with a cloth or soft brush under running water. Dry the glass well on the inside
and reassemble.
2. The UV-C lamp should be replaced every season, or after 8,000 burning hours. The lamp still
burns after this period, but the UV-C radiation is minimal because the gas in the lamp is consumed.
Remove the lamp from the holder and fit new lamp.

2. Clean the rotor under running water.
3. Clean the pump housing inside under running water.
7. WINTER PREPARATIONS
1. Remove the set from the water when frost approaches. Ice formation can cause irreparable
damage to the unit if the unit is not in operation.
2. Clean the set thoroughly as described in chapter 3-6
3. Check that the set and power cord are not damaged.
4. Store the set in a frost-free place in a bucket of water, this will prevent rubber rings from drying
out.

9. WARRANTY CONDITIONS
The set is covered by a 36-month warranty, which commences at the time of purchase. The date on the
purchase invoice is the effective date. Keep the invoice, you will need it if you want to claim warranty.
9.A WHAT DOES THE WARRANTY INCLUDE
We grant warranty on material and/or construction faults, the pump or parts thereof will be repaired
or replaced free of charge within the warranty period.
Natural wear on the rotor is not within the warranty.
During a warranty assessment, we check whether your product has been properly maintained. If there
is poor maintenance, scale build-up, damage caused by improper use, damage to the power cable, we
have the right to exclude warranty claims. In that case, a cost proposal will follow to repair or replace
the pump.
Any changes to the pump, such as shortening the power cable or cutting the plug, will void the warranty
claim.
Consequential damage caused by failure or misuse of the pump is beyond BluGarda’s liability.

1. UITPAKKEN
Aan de slag!
Controleer de filterset, de stroomkabel en de stekker op mogelijke beschadigingen, mocht dat het geval
zijn, neem het apparaat dan niet in gebruik. Neem contact met BluGarda op.

1.B TECHNISCHE GEGEVENS CONTROLEREN
Controleer de gegevens op het typeplaatje.
Het typeplaatje vermeldt alle belangrijke technische gegevens.
Spanning V/Hz De vermelde spanning moet overeenkomen met de aanwezige huisspanning.
Motor W Dit is het stroomverbruik van het apparaat.
Capaciteit Het maximaal aantal liters per uur dat de filterpomp verplaatst.
IP X Protectiecode, het filter mag permanent onderwater gebruikt worden
CE Het teken geeft aan dat het product in overeenstemming is met de Europese
wetgeving.
Defecte elektrische apparaten die in het huishouden zijn gebruikt, dienen volgens EU-richt-
lijnen verwijderd te worden. Dit product mag niet met het normale huisvuil worden af-
gevoerd, maar dient apart te worden verzameld.
Meer informatie over lokale afvalverzamelpunten vind je bij de gemeente van je woon-
plaats.

1.D TOEPASSING
Dit product is uitsluitend geschikt in zoet water met een watertemperatuur van +4°C tot +35°C, in vi-
jvers en waterpartijen. Niet geschikt voor zee(zout) water en/of vloeistoffen waartegen het product niet
bestand is (b.v. chemische vloeistoffen)
De BGF filtersets zijn voor reiniging van vijverwater en worden in de vijver opgesteld. De maximale
dompeldiepte bedraagt 2.0 meter. Plaats het filter minimaal 10 cm onder het wateroppervlak, om
aanzuigen van lucht te voorkomen.
2. VEILIGHEID
Let op! Het gebruik van dit filteris alleen toegestaan als de aanwezige
elektrische installatie voldoet aan de wettelijke normen.
Het filter mag nooit in werking zijn, wanneer zich personen in het water bevinden! (filter van het
stroomnet scheiden).
Het filter mag alleen aangesloten worden op een installatie met een aardlekschakelaar (30mA) en een
contactdoos met randaarde.
De contactdoos dient op een vochtvrije plaats, minstens 2 meter van de rand van het water geplaatst
te zijn.
Het filter is voorzien van een ingebouwde UV-c lamp: UV-c straling is schadelijk voor ogen en huid:
Vermijd direct contact met de lamp. Deze mag uitsluitend in gebruik zijn als de lamp in de behuizing is
geplaatst en in de vijver opgesteld staat.
Bij twijfel een vakkundige installateur raadplegen.
Personen, die deze handleiding niet kunnen opvolgen, mogen het filter niet gebruiken!
Dit apparaat is niet bestemd voor gebruik door personen en kinderen meteen lichamelijke, zintuiglijke
of geestelijke vermogensbeperking, of gebrek aan ervaring en/of kennis.
Tenzij ze worden begeleid door een persoon die verantwoordelijk is voor hun veiligheid, of door het
krijgen van een instructie hoe het apparaat te gebruiken.
Er moet op worden toegezien dat kinderen niet met het apparaat kunnen spelen.
Bij alle werkzaamheden aan het filter en/of vijver of ander systeem, waarmee het filter in verbinding
staat, dient eerst de netstekker van het filter uit de contactdoos genomen te worden en eventueel an-
dere apparaten die aangekoppeld zijn.
Houdt de stekker vrij van vocht. Om te voorkomen dat water via het snoer naar de
stekker loopt, moet er een lus gevormd worden.
Voordat het filter in gebruik wordt genomen, moet eerst het netsnoer en de stekker
onderzocht worden op beschadigingen.
Bij beschadiging van het netsnoer, pomp of UV-c lamp, mag het filter niet meer geb-
ruikt worden.

Reparatie is niet mogelijk omdat de kabel vast in de motor is ingegoten en daarom niet vervangbaar.
Verplaats of hang het filter nooit op aan het netsnoer.
2.A HET FILTER GEREED MAKEN VOOR GEBRUIK IN DE VIJVER
Het filter mag niet droogdraaien, beschadiging hierdoor is niet uit te slu-
iten.
Het filter is voorzien van filtermateriaal, een UV-c apparaat om algen te bestrijden en een pomp voor
circulatie.
Naar wens kan aan het filter een afvoerslang gemonteerd worden om gezuiverd water naar een wa-
terornament of een kleine waterval te pompen. Het is ook mogelijk om een fonteinkop te monteren, die
bij de levering behoort.
Bevestig de grootste maat slang op de meegeleverde slangkoppeling als een afvoerslang gemonteerd
wordt, daarmee wordt de capaciteit minder gereduceerd.
De stroomkabel dient altijd over de bodem, spanningsvrij in het water te liggen.
De pomp nooit in werking zetten buiten het water! De motorlagers worden door water gesmeerd.
Droogdraaien kan onherstelbare schade toebrengen aan de pomp en het ingebouwde Uv-c apparaat.
Als de set goed in het water gepositioneerd is, kan het filter gestart worden door de stekker in contact-
doos te steken.
3. ONDERHOUD ALGEMEEN
De veiligheidsvoorschriften in acht nemen!
Het filter is onderhoudsarm, maar niet onderhoudsvrij!
Neem de stekker uit de contactdoos voordat de set uit het water genomen wordt!
Om de levensduur van de set te verlengen en een probleemloze werking te garanderen, adviseren wij
regelmatig onderhoud en reiniging uit te voeren. Met weinig handelingen kan elke persoon al het on-
derhoudswerk probleemloos uitvoeren.
Het filter nooit buiten het water in werking zetten, dit kan leiden tot on-
herstelbare schade.
4. ONDERHOUD BGF-1011 & BGF-2011

4.A FILTERSPONS EN FILTERMATERIAAL REINIGEN
Reinigen van filterspons en filtermateriaal is afhankelijk van de mate van vervuiling. Als de capaciteit
afneemt is reinigen nodig, controleer dat in de eerste maanden na plaatsing van het filter met enige
regelmaat.

1. Draai de gemonteerde fontein of slangaansluiting (2) van het filter, open de clips (4), vervolgens
kan het filterdeksel (3) van de behuizing (10) genomen worden.
2. Filterspons (5) en filterboxen (8) reinigen onder stromend water, gebruik hiervoor nooit reinig-
ingsmiddelen.
4.B UV-C APPARAAT DEMONTEREN EN REINIGEN
Vijverwater stroomt in de behuizing langs het kwartsglas, waardoor na enige tijd (kalk)aanslag op de
het glas ontstaat. UV-c licht zal daarom minder goed het doorstromende water bereiken, waardoor de
werking vermindert. Het kwartsglas samen met het filtermateriaal periodiek reinigen.
1. Filterdeksel verwijderen als boven omschreven.
2. 2x borgschroeven opendraaien. Pomp met UV-c apparaat uit de behuizing nemen.
3. Pompkoppeling opendraaien; de pomp kan van het UV-c apparaat genomen worden.
4. Clip openen, het lamphuis met kwartsglas kan tegen de klok in van de houder gedraaid worden.

Let op: bij montage alle afdichtingsringen (5) en (7)op juiste plaats posi-
tioneren
4.C POMP DEMONTEREN EN REINIGEN
De rotor met waaier kunnen vervuilen door kalkhoudend water. Kalkafzettingen kunnen de pomp blok-
keren, als reinigen niet op tijd gebeurt.
Controleer dat vooral in de eerste maanden van gebruik regelmatig. De mate van vervuiling is geheel
afhankelijk van de waterkwaliteit.
Bij overbelasting van de motor zal de ingebouwde motorbeveiliging de pomp uitschakelen, deze kan
ook weer na enige tijd inschakelen als de motor te warm was en weer is afgekoeld.
Als in- en uitschakelen voortduurt, kan onherstelbare schade ontstaan aan de motor.
1. Pomphuis (1) tegen de klok in een slag draaien en van motor (6) afnemen.
2. Rotor (3) reinigen onder stromend water.
3. Pomphuis (1) aan binnenzijde reinigen onder stromend water.
Bij montage afdichtingsring (4) en lagerdopjes (2) in pomphuis en motor
controleren, doorgaans blijven deze in de behuizing geklemd bij demon-
tage.

Vermijd handcontact met de lamp: UV-c lamp met een doekje vasthouden
De UV-c lamp met kwartsglas (23-27) kan heel eenvoudig uit de behuizing worden genomen door deze
een slag naar links te draaien.
1. Reinig het kwartsglas; wartel (25) opendraaien en glas uit behuizing (23) nemen. Gebruik geen
reinigingsmiddelen, glas met doekje of zacht borsteltje reinigen onder stromend water. Glas goed af-
drogen aan binnenzijde en weer monteren.
2. UV-c lamp (26) elk seizoen, of na 8.000 branduren vervangen. De lamp brandt na deze periode
nog wel, maar de UV-c straling is minimaal, omdat het gas in de lamp verbruikt is. De lamp uit de houd-
er (27) nemen en nieuwe lamp monteren.

6.B UV-C APPARAAT DEMONTEREN EN REINIGEN

De UV-c lamp met kwartsglas (16-18) kan heel eenvoudig uit de behuizing worden genomen door de
schroeven met een schroevendraaier los te draaien. Daarna kan de UV-lamp met kwartsglas losgekop-
peld worden door deze een slag naar links te draaien.
1. Reinig het kwartsglas; wartel opendraaien en glas uit behuizing nemen. Gebruik geen reinig-
ingsmiddelen, glas met doekje of zacht borsteltje reinigen onder stromend water. Glas goed afdrogen
aan binnenzijde en weer monteren.
2. UV-c lamp elk seizoen, of na 8.000 branduren vervangen. De lamp brandt na deze periode nog
wel, maar de UV-c straling is minimaal, omdat het gas in de lamp verbruikt is. De lamp uit de houder
nemen en nieuwe lamp monteren.

7. WINTERVOORBEREIDINGEN
1. Neem de set uit het water bij naderende vorst. IJsvorming kan onherstelbare schade aan het
apparaat voorzaken als het apparaat niet in werking is.
2. Reinig de set grondig zoals in hoofdstuk 3 (BGF 1011 / BGF 2011) en hoofdstuk 4 (BGF 3511 /
BGF 5211) beschreven is.
3. Controleer of de set en het netsnoer niet beschadigd zijn.
4. De set op een vorstvrije plaats in een emmer met water bewaren, daarmee wordt voorkomen
dat rubberen ringen uitdrogen.
