The appliance is destined for use in the private sec-

dwelling. As a result a pleasant air quality is estab-
lished. Allergens, germs and unpleasant smells are
lteredfromtheair.
Before you use the appliance
After unpacking and prior to each use please check
the appliance to see whether the product shows any
sign of damage.
If this is the case do not use the appliance but inform
your dealer.
The operating manual is based on the standards and
regulations applicable in the European Union (EU).
Please also comply with national directives and laws in
force abroad!
Before you use your appliance please read
the safety instructions and the operating
instructions carefully. You may only use the
functions safely and reliably by doing so!
Please keep the operating instructions and the guar-
antee in a safe place, along with the till receipt and the
carton with the packaging material, if possible.

Childrenmaygetcaughtinthepackingfoil
when playing and suffocate in it.
– Never let children play with the appliance or the
packaging foil – danger of suffocation.
– Childrendonotunderstandorfrequentlyunderesti-
mate the danger when handling electrical devices.
In order to protect children from the danger of elec-
trical appliances, make sure that children have no
access to the appliance if they are unsupervised.
Hazard by faulty operation!
Improper handling of the appliance may
cause injuries.
– Onlypersonsfamiliarwiththedangersandspecic
features of the appliance should operate it.
– Childrenmayoperatetheapplianceunsupervised,
but only if they have been properly instructed,
which puts them in a position to use the appliance
in a safe manner and to understand the dangers of
improper handling!
Function
A low-noise motor sucks in the indoor air through the
air admission grill a a.
Itrunsthroughamulti-stageltersystemconsistingof:
• a preliminary lter jwhich removes contami-
nants from the air, such as dust and pollen;
• a HEPA lter k(HighEfciencyParticulateAir)
catches particles of any kind with a diameter of up
to 0.1 micro;
• an activated carbon lter lremoves unpleasant
smells;
• a cold converter lter mdecomposes organic
material;
• a photo-catalyst nis activated from a separately
switched UV lamp o, and further decomposes
organic material.
Theltersystemoperatesasanionizerthatnega-
tivelychargesparticlesoatingintheair.
They then cling to dust particles, germs and micro-
organisms and connect them with each other.
As a result these particles become heavier than the
air,theysinktotheoor,areaspiratedthroughthe
air admission grill a a,andthenlteredbytheair
cleaner.Aninsignicantamountofozonegenerated
by the UV lamp osupports the bactericidal effect.

Thefollowingsubstancesmaybelteredfromtheair:
– dust, dust mites
– smoke, unpleasant smells
– skin scales, animal hair
– pollen
– viruses, germs, mould
– a few volatile organic chemicals.
Important!
The air cleaner does not replace the opening of
windowsforregularairingthatisalsosignicantfora
healthy indoor air environment.
Location
– Place the appliance only near washable surfaces.
– Place the appliance on a solid ground with free air
supply.
– Keep a distance of at least 10 cm from a wall.
Preparation
1. Unwind the mains lead bcompletely, see illustra-
tion 1.
2. Take the remote control cfrom the storage com-
partment a c, see illustration 2.
Prior to initial operation:
• Remove the protection foil from the battery dof the
remote control equipment c, see illustration 3.
Operation
1. Insert the mains plug binto a properly installed
mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz).
2. Activate the appliance through button e– appliance
or remote control, see illustration 4.
When the button eat the appliance is lit red, the
ventilator is running.
3. Adjust the ventilator stages by repeatedly pushing
the button f– appliance or remote control, see
illustration 4:
• Low: button fat the appliance is lit red.
• Medium: button fon the appliance is lit orange.
• High: button fon the appliance is lit green.
4. If necessary: turn on the UV lamp through button
g– appliance or remote control, see illustration 4:
button gon the appliance lit green.
Service and maintenance
Exchange of lter
1. Remove the plug from the mains socket b.
2. Unfasten the sealing screw iand remove the hous-
ing lid h, see illustration 5.
3.Removedirtylter,seeillustration6.
4.Insertthecleanedorreplacedlter,seeillustration7.
5.Closethehousinglidhand fasten the sealing
screw i, see illustration 8.
Exchange of UV lamp
1. Remove the plug from the mains socket b.
2. Unfasten the sealing screw iand remove the hous-
ing lid h, see illustration 5.
3. Twist the UV lamp ountil you are able to remove it
from the front, see illustrations 9 and 10.
4. Insert the new UV lamp oand turn it 90°, see il-
lustrations 11 and 9.
5.Closethehousinglidhand fasten the sealing
screw i, see illustration 8.

We recommend the following maintenance intervals for

No function: has the housing lid hbeen properly
closed? Do not open the housing cover a, leave
instead to customer service for inspection and repair.
Disposing of old appliances
