We are pleased to say that the return rate on BODUM® product is very low; however, should you
need to process a returned BODUM® product under warranty, please follow the simple procedure
below. We have tried to make it as simple as possible for both yourself and the end consumer.
BODUM AUSTRALIA WARRANTY PROCEDURE
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Consumers are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for
any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Consumers are also entitled to have the goods
repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount
to a major failure.
The beneits to BODUM® customers given by the warranty set out below are in addition to other
rights and remedies under a law in relation to the BODUM® product to which the warranty relates.
To process a faulty BODUM® product you will require a Return Authorisation (RA) number.
Returned items without a RA number are not able to be processed for credit or replacement.
Contact BODUM® on [phone] for a RA number.
Faulty product does not include items which have incurred wear and tear through general home
use, misuse or commercial use. Warranty does not include accidental glass breakages.
Warranty period:
 BODUM®:2 year replacement warranty from the date of purchase for electrical appliances
where a defect appears and BODUM® is notiied within 2 years from date of purchase.
Proof of purchase: any claim from the end consumer must be validated with a copy of proof of
purchase; without providing a proof of purchase BODUM® Australia will not be able to process
the claim. Proof of purchase includes original purchase receipt/docket or credit card statement
showing the purchase amount.
Replacement or credit: once claim is validated, if possible please replace the faulty item from
stock on hand. If a customer requires a replacement for an item which you don’t have on hand,
please have the item added to your next order.
Return or work order: to ensure that the return process is as easy as possible for both you and the
end consumer, we don’t do work orders or product repairs.
Once you have received a RA number and sighted the product please safely dispose of the faulty
item. We don’t require the faulty product to be sent back to us. However, if you come across an
unusual fault which you think we need to be aware of please send it back to BODUM® Australia
Head Oice.

To clen the device, simply wipe it o with  moist rg.
Turn the temperture control to setting «I» nd unplug the
device from mins to turn o the device.
Pull the plug, not the cord in order to unplug the device.
Mke sure tht the cord does not hng down over the edge of
 tble or work surfce nd do not llow it to come into contct
with hot surfces.
Do not use electricl devices under ny circumstnces if their
cords or plugs re dmged or fter improper functioning hs
been detected or if the pplince hs been dmged in ny
wy. In this cse, plese bring your pplince to the nerest
mnufcturer uthorized service loction for inspection, repir
or proper set-up.
Do not ever ttempt to replce the power cord of this device
yourself, s specil tools re required to perform this kind of
work. Hve the repir or replcement performed exclusively by
 service loction uthorized by the mnufcturer so tht the
sfe opertion of the device will be wrrnted.

MAINS PLUG This device hs  polrized plug (one of the con-
tct pins is wider thn the other). In order to reduce the risk
of electricl shock, the plug cn be connected with mins only
by itting the plug correctly into the outlet. If the plug does not
it into your receptble, turn it 180° nd try gin. If it should
still not it, contct  certiied electricin. Do not ttempt to
replce the plug yourself.

surfce must be dry. Keep the device nd its power cord

USE YOUR
WAFFLE MAKER
Do not use ny metl prts, knives, forks or similr objects to
plce wle btter into the Wle Mker or to remove them.
This could dmge the nti-stick coting. Alwys use plstic
or wooden spoons/tools.
An extension cord cn be used with this device provided the
pplicble precutions re tken.
If you re plnning to use n extension cord, mke sure
tht the electricl indices of the extension cord re t lest
the sme s those of the device. If the device is grounded,
the extension cord must be three-prong nd grounded. The
longer cord must be positioned in such  mnner tht it does
not hng down over the edge of  tble or of  work surfce.
Also mke sure tht children cnnot pull on it nd tht it
does not crete  stumbling/tripping hzrd unintentionlly.
Before its irst use, mke sure you clen the device. See
chpter MAINTENANCE AND CARE.
Distribute some cooking oil over the wle iron surfces.
Allow the device to het up in setting «5» for 5 minutes while
it is empty nd the cover is open. Next, turn the temperture
control down to setting «I», unplug it nd wit until the ppli-
nce hs cooled down.
You my detect  slight odor in the ir when the device is
heting up the irst time. This is  norml occurrence when
the components re heted up for the irst time.
The pplince is not to be operted in the open position.
Double-check to mke sure tht the voltge rting on the
identiiction lbel of the device is congruent with the mins
voltge of your speciic region. Plug the device only into 
properly grounded socket with n output rting of t lest 6A
(if you re using  fult protection switch plte (RCD), plese
sk n electricin for dvice). While the device is in opertion,
the socket must be esily ccessible in the event of n emer-
gency. The mnufcturer shll not ssume ny libility for
ccidents resulting from deicient or non-existing grounding.
If the socket should not be comptible with the plug of your
pplince, plese hve the socket replced by  certiied
electricin.

1  Preheting
Before you connect the device to mins, mke certin tht
the pplince is closed nd tht the temperture control (2)
is in position «I».
Now plce the device upright on its feet (7) nd connect it
to mins. The red lmp (4) will illuminte. Turn the temper-
ture control to the desired setting. Then the green lmp (3)
will switch on.
As soon s the temperture control hs reched the preset
temperture, the green lmp (3) will switch o.
2  Plcing the btter into the Wle Mker
Use only ingredients tht re sfe for humn consumption.
We recommend you mke the btter prior to the preheting
phse.
To give your wles  golden brown crust tht is lso slightly
crunchy, distribute butter or mrgrine cross the wle iron
surfces before you pour in the btter.
As soon s the green lmp (3) switch o, you re redy to pour
the prepred wle btter into the designted rectngles
in the wle iron surfce (9). Mke sure tht you ill the
recesses only to just below the outer edge, so tht the risings
re slightly covered with dough, in order to prevent n over-
low of dough when closing the device. Wrning: Be creful
s the wle iron surfces re extremely hot.
Now close the cover (6) crefully, press the hndles (5)
together nd lock the device with the closure (1).
Allow the Wle Mker to cook the btter for  while.
Depending on the setting you hve chosen on the temper-
ture control nd how crispy you wnt your wles to be,
you will hve to wit longer.
Once the wles look the wy you expected, open the closure
(1) nd the cover (6) nd pull the wles out crefully. Wrning:
Be creful s the wle iron surfces re extremely hot.
Once you re done bking wles, turn the temperture
control to the «I» setting nd unplug the device.
Alwys llow the device mple time to cool o nd lwys
unplug it before you clen it or put it wy for storge.

Recipe suggestion:
trditionl wles (for 10 wles)
 3 eggs
 125g butter
 100g sugr
 1 pckge of vnill sugr
 ¼ tsp slt
 250ml whole milk
or buttermilk
 250g lour
 1tsp of bking powder
Prepring the btter: Melt the butter nd llow it to cool
o for  few minutes before you dd the eggs, sugr, vnill
sugr nd slt. Whisk the wet ingredients until they re
smooth.
Now sift in the dry ingredients – the lour nd the bking
powder. Finlly, dd the milk. Whisk the btter once gin
until it is smooth nd esy to pour.
Obviously, you cn lso use this device to mke other types
of wle recipes, including those mde from mixes.
TIP: Serve your wles with fresh fruit, fruit compote,
whipped crem, honey or nything you like.

MAINTENANCE

Before you put your pplince wy for storge, lwys roll
up the cord (8) inside the cord storge comprtment (11).
Alwys wit until the device hs cooled down completely
before you clen it.
Before you strt clening the pplince, mke sure it is
no longer connected to mins.
Any other servicing should be performed by n uthorized
service representtive.
CLEANING THE
HOUSING AND
THE WAFFLE
IRON SURFACES
Never use ny hrsh scrubbing cleners, scrpers, metl
covered sponges, steel wool or sop steel wool sponges
to clen the tosting surfces or the device housing.
Use only  moist rg to wipe the housing nd wle iron
surfces clen. If tough residue should keep sticking to
the toster surfces, plce some food grde oil on  pper
towel nd remove the food with it.
Never immerse the housing, plug nd cord into wter –
the Wle Mker is n electricl device.

Versuchen Sie niemls, ds Netzkbel des Gerts selbst zu erset-
zen, d hierfür Spezilwerkzeuge erforderlich sind. Reprtur-
oder Austuschrbeiten sollten usschließlich von einer durch
den Hersteller utorisierten Service-Werksttt durchgeführt
werden, um den sicheren Betrieb des Gerts zu gewhrleisten.

verhindern, drf ds Gert nicht über eine externe Schltvor-
richtung wie einen Timer n eine Steckdose oder ein Stromnetz
ngeschlossen werden, ds regelmßig von Stromnetzbetreiber
ein- und usgeschltet wird.
Vergewissern Sie sich, dss der Temperturregler uf „I“ gestellt
und ds Gert vom Stromnetz getrennt wurde, bevor Sie versu-

BENUTZEN
Verwenden Sie keine Metllteile, Messer, Gbeln oder hnli-
che Objekte, um Welteig in ds Weleisen zu geben oder
us diesem zu entfernen. Dies könnte die Antihftbeschich-
tung beschdigen. Verwenden Sie immer Löel oder Werk-
zeuge us Kunststo oder Holz.
Wenn die entsprechenden Sicherheitsvorkehrungen getroen
werden, knn ein Verlngerungskbel mit diesem Gert ver-
wendet werden.
Wenn Sie ein Verlngerungskbel verwenden möchten, verge-
wissern Sie sich, dss die Angben uf dem Verlngerungsk-
bel mindestens den Speziiktionen des Gerts entsprechen.
Wenn ds Gert geerdet ist, muss ds Verlngerungskbel
dreidrig und geerdet sein. Ds lngere Kbel muss so positi-
oniert werden, dss es nicht über die Knte eines Tischs oder
einer Arbeitspltte hngt. Vergewissern Sie sich uch, dss
Kinder nicht drn ziehen können und niemnd versehentlich
über ds Kbel fllen oder stolpern knn.
Reinigen Sie ds Gert vor der ersten Nutzung. Lesen Sie
hierzu ds Kpitel WARTUNG UND PFLEGE.
Verteilen Sie etws Speiseöl uf den Bcklchen des Wf-
feleisens. Lssen Sie ds Gert uf Stufe „5“ für 5 Minuten
leer und mit geöneter Abdeckung uheizen. Stellen Sie
den Temperturregler nschließend uf „I“, trennen Sie ds
Gert von der Stromversorgung und wrten Sie, bis es sich
bgekühlt ht.
Wenn ds Gert erstmlig uheizt, werden Sie eventuell einen
leichten Geruch in der Luft feststellen. Dies ist norml, wenn
die Gertekomponenten zum ersten Ml ufgeheizt werden.
Steckdose mit einer Ausgngsleistung von mindestens 6A
(wenn Sie eine Fehlerstromschutzschlterpltte (RCD) ver-
wenden, lssen Sie sich von einem Elektriker berten). Die
Steckdose muss whrend des Betriebs des Gerts im Notfll
leicht zugnglich sein. Der Hersteller übernimmt keine Hf-
tung für Unflle ufgrund einer defekten oder nicht vorhn-
denen Erdung.
Sollte die Steckdose nicht mit dem Stecker Ihres Elektroge-
rts komptibel sein, lssen Sie die Steckdose durch einen
zugelssenen Elektriker uswechseln.

Ds Gert drf nicht in geöneter Position betrieben werden.
1 – Vorheizen
Vergewissern Sie sich, dss ds Gert geschlossen und
der Temperturregler (2) uf die Position „I“ gestellt ist, bevor
Sie es n eine Steckdose nschließen.
Stellen Sie ds Gert ufrecht uf die Füße (7) und schließen
Sie ds Gert n die Steckdose n. Die rote Lmpe (4) leuch-
tet. Stellen Sie den Temperturregler uf die gewünschte
Tempertur ein. Die grüne Lmpe (3) leuchtet uf.
Sobld der Temperturregler die voreingestellte Tempertur
erreicht ht, erlischt die grüne Lmpe (3).
2 – Teig in ds Weleisen geben
Verwenden Sie nur für den menschlichen Verzehr geeignete
Zutten.
Wir empfehlen Ihnen, den Teig vor der Auheizphse
nzurühren.
Streichen Sie etws Butter oder Mrgrine uf die Bckl-
chen des Weleisens, dmit Ihre Weln eine goldbrune
und leicht knusprige Kruste bekommen.
Sobld die grüne Lmpe (3) erlischt, können Sie den zuberei-
teten Teig in die Rechtecke der Welbcklche (9) geben.
Achten Sie druf, die Vertiefungen nur bis knpp unter
die ußere Knte zu füllen, sodss die Erhebungen leicht
bedeckt sind, um zu verhindern, dss Teig usluft, wenn
Sie die Abdeckung schließen. Wrnung: Seien Sie vorsichtig
– die Bcklchen des Weleisens sind sehr heiß.
Schließen Sie nschließend vorsichtig den Deckel (6),
drücken Sie die Grie (5) zusmmen und verriegeln Sie ds
Gert mit dem Verschluss (1).
Lssen Sie ds Weleisen den Teig eine Weile bcken. Je
nch eingestellter Tempertur und gewünschter Knusprigkeit
muss der Teig eventuell lnger bcken.
Sobld die Weln wie gewünscht ussehen, önen Sie
den Verschluss (1) und die Abdeckung (6) und entnehmen
Sie die Weln vorsichtig. Wrnung: Seien Sie vorsichtig,
d die Bcklchen des Weleisens sehr heiß sind.
