1. PRECAUTIONS
■Ensure you install according to national regulations.
■Read “PRECAUTIONS” carefully before installation.
■The following precautions include important safety items.
■Keep this manual with theowner's manual for future reference.
The safety precautions listed here are divided into two categories. In either
case, important safety information is listed which must be read carefully.
WARNING
Failure to observe awarning may result in serious injury.
CAUTION
Failure to observe acaution may result in injury or damage to
theequipment.
After completing theinstallation, make sure that theunit operates properly
during the start-up operation. Please instruct the customer on how to
operate theunit and keep it maintained. Also, inform customers that they
shouldstorethis installation manualalong withtheowner‘smanual for future
reference.
WARNING
Only trained and qualified service personnel to install, repair or
service theequipment.
Incorrect installation, repair, and maintenance may result in electric
shocks, short-circuit, leaks, fire or other damage to theequipment.
Install according to this installation instructions strictly.
If installation is defective, it will cause water leakage, electrical shock
and fire.
Disconnect thepower supply before cleaning and maintenance.
When installing theunit in asmall room, take measures against to
keep refrigerant concentration from exceeding allowable safety
limits in theevent of refrigerant leakage.
Contact your installer.
Excessiverefrigerantin aclosedambientcanleadtooxygendeficiency.
Use the attached accessories parts and specified parts for
installation.
Otherwise, it will cause theunit to fail, water leakage, electrical shock
fire.
Install theunit on aload bearing surface which is able to withstand
theunits weight.
Ifthestrengthisnotenoughorinstallationis notproperlydone,theunit
will fall and could to cause injury.
The appliance shall not be installed in thelaundry room.
Before obtaining access to terminals, all power supplies must be
disconnected.
For electrical work, follow the local national wiring standard,
regulation and this installation instructions. An independent
circuit and single outlet must be used.
If electrical circuit capacity is not enough or defect in electrical work, it
will cause electrical shock and fire.
Use thespecified cable and connect tightly and clamp thecable so
that no external force will be acted on theterminal.
If connection or fixing is incorrect, it will cause heat-up or fire at
theconnection.
Wiringroutingmustbeproperlyarranged so thatthecontrolboard
cover is fixed properly.
If control board cover is not fixed perfectly, it will cause heat-up at
connection point of terminal, fire or electrical shock.
Ifthepowercable isdamaged, itmust bereplacedby themanufac-
ture or its service agent or asimilarly qualified person in order to
avoid ahazard.
An all-pole disconnection switch having acontact separation of at
least 3mm in all poles should be connected in fixed wiring.
When carrying out refrigeration piping connection, take care not
to let air substances get into the refrigeration cycle.
Otherwise, it will cause lower capacity, abnormal high pressure in
therefrigeration cycle, explosion and injury.
Do not modify thelength of thepower cable or use of extension
cable, and do not share thesingle outlet with any other electrical
appliances.
Otherwise, it will cause fire or electrical shock.
Carry out thespecified installation work after taking into account
strong winds.
Improper installation work may result in the equipment falling and
causing accidents.
If the refrigerant leaks during installation, ventilate the area
immediately.
Toxic gas may be produced if the refrigerant comes into the place
contacting with fire.

The temperature of refrigerant circuit will be high, please keep
theinterconnection cable away from thecopper tube.
After completing theinstallation work, check that therefrigerant
does not leak.
Toxic gas may be produced if therefrigerant leaks into theroom and
comes into contact with asource of fire, such as afan heater, stove or
cooker.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instructionconcerning useof theappliancebyapersonresponsiblefor
their safety.
Disconnect thepower supply before cleaning and maintenance.
CAUTION
Ground theair conditioner.
Do not connect theground wire to gas or water pipes,lightning rod or
atelephone ground wire. Incomplete grounding may result in electric
shocks.
Ensure to install an earth leakage breaker.
Failure to install an earth leakage breaker may result in electric shocks.
Connect the outdoor unit cables, then connect the indoor unit
cables.
Do not connect theair conditioner with thepower source until wiring
and piping theair conditioner is complete.
While following theinstructions in this installation manual, install
drain piping in order to ensure proper drainage and insulate piping
in order to prevent condensation.
Improper drainage may result in water leakage and property damage.
Install the indoor and outdoor units, power supply cables and
connecting wires at least 1metre away from televisions or radios
in order to prevent image interference or noise.
Depending on the radio waves, a distance of 1 metre may not be
sufficient enough to eliminate thenoise or interference.
The appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm
persons without supervision.
DISPOSAL: Do not dispose this product as unsorted municipal
waste. Collection of such waste separately for special treatment
is necessary.
Do not install theair conditioner in thefollowing locations:
■There is petrolatum existing.
■In acoastal area where there is salt in theair (near thecoast).
■There is caustic gas (the sulfide, for example) existing in theair
(near ahot spring).
■Voltage fluctuates (in thefactories).
■In kitchen where it is full of oil gas.
■There is strong electromagnetic wave existing.
■There are inflammable materials or gas.
■There is acid or alkaline liquid evaporating.
■Other special conditions.
2. INSTALLATION INFORMATION
■To install properly, please read this “installation manual” first.
■The air conditioner must be installed by qualified persons.
■Wheninstallingtheindoorunitoritstubing,pleasefollowthismanual.
■If theair conditioner is installed on ametal part of thebuilding, it
must be electrically insulated according to therelevant standards to
electrical appliances.
■When all theinstallation work is finished, please turn on thepower
only after athorough check.

4. INDOOR UNIT INSTALLATION
4.1 The units may be mounted vertically, provided
that thecorrect clearances for positioning are
maintained. (Refer to Fig.4-1~Fig.4-5 )

4.2 Version I Installation
For installation,follow theinstructions set out below:

thestructure,as following indicated.

4.3 VersionII Installation

4.4 VersionII Installation
For installation,follow theinstructions set out below:

theholes in theunit itself,or by referring to themeasurements
given in Table 4-2.
2) Secure theunit by driving thefour fixing screwing into suitable
masonry plugs.(Refer to Fig.4-15).

The figures above are based on model with 2.2kW~2.8kW type
as rated capacity, which may differ from theunit you purchased.

5. INSTALL THE CONNECTING PIPE
CAUTION
Do not let air, dust, or other impurities fall in thepipe system during
thetime of installation.
The connecting pipe should not be installed until theindoor and
outdoor units have been fixed already.
Keep theconnecting pipe dry, and do not let moisture in during
installation.
5.1 The Procedure of Connecting Pipes
1. Measurethenecessary length oftheconnecting pipe, andconnect itusing
thefollowing process
1) Connect theindoor unit at first, then theoutdoor unit.
a. Bend thetubing in thecorrect manner and do not damage thepipe.
CAUTION
1. Oil thesurfaces of theflare pipe and thejoint nuts with oil, and
tightenitwith 3~4 rounds with handsbeforefastentheflarenuts.
2. Be sure to use two wrenches simultaneously when you connect or
disconnect thepipes.
2) For Pressure testing and vacuum testing, refer to the outdoor unit
installation manual.
■Pipe Bending.
•The bending angle should not exceed 90°.
•Longer radius bends are preferred to help theflow of refrigerant.
•Do not bend thepipe more than three times.
Ensure you use at least 9mm wall thickness insulation. For larger
pipes thicker insulation may be required. (More than 9mm thick)

2. Pipe Support
1) Drill ahole in thewall (suitable just for thesize of thewall conduit,
90mm in general), then fit on thefittings such as thewall conduit and
its cover.
2) Cover theconnecting pipe and thecables together tightly with binding
tapes.Donotletairin,whichwillcausewaterleakagebycondensation.
3) Pass the connecting pipe through the wall conduit from outside.
Becareful of thepipe not to do any damage to thetubing.
3. Connect thepipes.
4. Be sure of no leakage by checking it with leak detector or soap water.
5. Coverthejointof theconnectingpipeto theindoor unitwiththesoundproof/
insulating sheath (fittings), and cover it well with the tapes to prevent
leakage.
6. CONNECT THE DRAIN PIPE
6.1 Install thedrainpipe of theindoor unit
The outlet has PTI screw bread, Please use sealing materials and pipe
sheath (fitting) when connecting PVC pipes.
CAUTION
•The drain pipe of theindoor unit must be heat insulated, or it will
produce condensate, as well as theconnections of theindoor unit.
•Hard PVC tape must be used for pipe connection, and make sure
there is no leakage.
•Withtheconnectionparttotheindoorunit,please notenottoimpose
pressure on theside of indoor unit pipes.
•The drain pipe should have aslope decline of 1/100.
•The total length of thedrain pipe when laid out traversely should not
exceed 20m, when thepipe is over long, abracket must be installed
to prevent damage.
•Refer to theFig.6-1 for theinstallation of thepipes.

6.2 Drainage test
•Check whether thedrainpipe is clear.
•Newbuilthouseshouldhavethistestdonebeforecoveringtheceiling.

7. WIRING
■Only specified power cables should be used. Do not apply any
pressure on theterminals used to connect.
Incorrect connection may cause fire.
■Grounding must be correctly carried out.
The grounding wire should be away from gas pipes, water pipes,
telephone, lightening rods or other grounding wires. Improper
grounding may cause electric shock.
■Electrical Wiring must only be done by professionals. Use
aseparatecircuitaccording toLocaland nationalregulations.
If thewiring capacity is not enough, electric shock or fire may occur.
CAUTION
1. Be sure to Install Current Leakage Protection Switch, or electric
shock may occur.
2. Power cables are be selected according to national regulations.
3. Outdoor unit power cable should be selected and connected
according to theoutdoor unit installation manual.
4. Wiring should be away from high temperature components, or
theinsulation layer of thecables may melt.
5. Use cable clamp to fix the cables and terminal block after
connection.
6. Control cable should be wrapped together with heat insulated
refrigerant pipes.
7. Connect theindoor unit to power only after therefrigerant has
been vacuumed.
8. Don’t connect the power cable to the communication cable
connection end.

7.2 Indoor/outdoor unit signal wire
•Connect thecable according to their numbers.
•Wrong connection may cause malfunction.
7.3 Wiring connection
•Sealthewiringconnectionwith theinsulationmaterial,condensation
will be caused.
7.4 Panel Wiring
Connect the Swing Motor terminal block according to the Panel
Installation Manual.
7.5 Terminal Board Diagram
Please refer to theindoor unit wiring diagram for thewiring.
Note: The air-conditioners can connect with Central Control Monitor
(CCM). Before operation, please wire correctly and set system
address and network address of indoor units.

7.6 Control
Please number theindoor units during theinstallation. For example,
for thefirst outdoor unit, thenumber of thefirst indoor unit is1-1,
the second indoor unit is 1-2, and the set address is 1 and 2
respectively, theothers is analogical.

CAUTION
The total system number of units is 64 (0–63), each unit has only
one system address code. If two addresses are then same in one
system, theabnormal operation will occur.
Please switch off thepower before setting,otherwise an error will
occur.
7.8 Network address set
1) Network address is set by communication of indoor and outdoor
unit; theaddress is thesame as indoor address, there is no need
to set separately.
2) The central control of indoor units can be done on outdoor unit,
there is no need to control indoor unit separately, for details
please refer to V4+ outdoor unit manual.
3) For previous control of indoor units, thenetwork can be set by
connecting (X,Y,E) terminals, there is no need to set network
address. The network can also be set by outer network module
and main board (CN20).

12 | TEST OPERATION
9. TEST OPERATION
1 Thetestoperationmustbe carried outaftertheentireinstallation has
been completed.
2 Please confirm thefollowing points before thetest operation:
•The indoor unit and outdoor unit are installed properly.
•Pipe work and wiring are correctly completed.
•The refrigerant pipe system is leakage-checked.
•The drainage is unimpeded.
•The heating insulation works well.
•The ground wiring is connected correctly.
•The length of theadditional refrigeration pipe and amount of
refrigerant is recorded.
•The power voltage fits therated voltage of theair conditioner.
•There are no obstacle at theoutlet and inlet of theoutdoor and
indoor units.
•The gas-side and liquid-side stop valves are both opened.
•The air conditioner is pre-heated by turning on thepower.
3 According to the user's requirement, install the remote controller
frame where theremote controller's signal can reach theindoor unit
smoothly.
4 Test operation
■Settheairconditionerunderthemodeof “COOLING”withtheremote
controller, and check thefollowing points. If there is any malfunction,
please resolve it according to the chapter “Troubleshooting” in
the“Owner's Manual”.
•1) The indoor unit
a. Whether theswitch on theremote controller works well.
b. Whether thebuttons on theremote controller works well.
c. Whether theair flow louver moves normally.
d. Whether theroom temperature is adjusted well.
e. Whether theindicator lights normally.
f. Whether thetemporary buttons works well.
g. Whether thedrainage is normal.
h. Whether there is vibration or abnormal noise during operation.
I. Whether theair conditioner heats well in thecase of
theHEATING/COOLING mode.
•2) The outdoor unit
a. Whether there is vibration or abnormal noise during operation.
b. Whether thegenerated wind, noise, or condensate of by theair
conditioner has disturbed or affected your neighbours.
c. Whether any of therefrigerant has leaked.
CAUTION
Aprotectionfeaturepreventstheairconditionerfrombeingactivated
