YOUR AUDIO
LINK
The
Bose®
link
AR1
Wireless
Audio
Receiver
Your
AR1
receiver works with the
Bose®
link
ALB
Homewide
Wireless Audio Link transmitter. It provides wireless audio
reception for Bose link expansion room systems, amplifiers,
or
powered speakers.
You
can also use it with some older Bose products that are
not Bose link compatible or with atuner/receiver or apair
of
powered speakers that are not from Bose.

Note:
Use
of
the AR1 receiver with a
product
that
is
not Bose link
compatible requires aspecial adapter cab/e. For further informa-
tion] refer to lilnstructions for non-Bose
or
older Bose products

Getting
it
ready
•Check the
AR1
receiver connection panel to make sure the
Setup Code switches are set
to
match those on the connec-
tion panel
of
the ALB transmitter. This ensures compatibility.

•Place the receiver within 7feet
(2
meters)
of
the product it
connects to (using the supplied Bose link Acable).
•Place it within 80 feet
(24
meters)
of
the AL8 transmitter.
•Keep it upright with all feet flat on alevel surface, such as a
floor, table, or shelf.
•Do not tip it on its side.

product
These instructions are for use
of
the
AR1
receiver with aBose
link compatible expansion product only. If they are not appro-
priate, refer to-"Instructions for non-Bose or older Bose prod-

Connect one end
of
the supplied Bose link Acable into
the Bose link OUTPUT jack on the
AR1
receiver.
2.
Connect the other end
of
the cable to the Bose link Input
jack on the expansion room system, amplifier,
or
powered
speaker (Figure 1on page
6).

non-Bose

older
Bose products
The
AR1
receiver can connect to some products that are not
Bose link compatible, including:
•Non-Bose products like atuner/receiver or powered speaker
system
•Bose powered speakers, aradio, or system with
its
own
volume and on/off controls and line-level female RCA input
jacks connected to the receiver
Any of the above products require the use of an RCA to DIN
adapter cable for connecting to the receiver.
An
adapter kit,
which contains two of these cables,
is
available from Bose.

CONFIRMING
OPERATION
Check
the
indicators
and
settings
Before you use this addition to the audio link, you may want
to
check some
of
the indicators and settings that make your
expansion products work together smoothly.
The

the connection panel of both the transmitter and the
receiver, the Status

communicating,
as
shown
in
the table below.

the receiver, ablinking or solid orange light indicates a
communications problem. Repositioning the transmitter or
receiver, or both, may resolve the problem and cause both
LEDs to change

Your Bose® link expansion room
remote
control

If you have more than one

FESTYLE®
system expansion
room set up, make sure the remote used
in
each one has a
unique room code.
•House code
The house code setting on the remote must match the set-
ting on your
L1FESTYLE®
system. This is
an
issue only if you
have changed the system house code due
to
interference
with another Bose
L1FESTYLE®
system.

how
to
change them, refer

with your remote.
