IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Read these instructions – for all components before using this product.

5. Do not use this apparatus near water or moisture – Do not use this
product near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, in a wet
basement, near a swimming pool, or anywhere else that water or moisture
are present.
6. Clean only with a dry cloth – and as directed by Bose Corporation. Unplug
this product from the wall outlet before cleaning.
7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions – To ensure reliable operation of the product
and to protect it from overheating, put the product in a position and location
that will not interfere with its proper ventilation. For example, do not place
the product on a bed, sofa, or similar surface that may block the ventilation
openings. Do not put it in a built-in system, such as a bookcase or a cabinet,
that may keep air from flowing through its ventilation openings.
8. Do not install near any heat sources, such as radiators, heat registers,
stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type
plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A
grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wider
blade or third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does
not fit in your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete
outlet.
10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at
plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the
apparatus.
11. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
12. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long
periods of time – to prevent damage to this product.

It will help you set up and operate your system properly and enjoy all of its
advanced features. Please save this owner’s guide for future reference.

The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle
alerts the user to the presence of uninsulated, dangerous voltage within
the system enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a
risk of electrical shock.
The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle, as marked on
the system, is intended to alert the user to the presence of important
operating and maintenance instructions in this owner’s guide.
Class B emissions
This Class B digital apparatus meets all requirements of the Canadian
Interference-Causing Equipment Regulations (Canada only).
WARNING: K eep the remote control battery away from children. It may cause a fire or
chemical burn if mishandled. Do not recharge, disassemble, heat above 100º C (212º F),
or incinerate. Dispose of used batteries promptly. Replace only with a battery of the
correct type and model number.

Compatibility
This kit is fully compatible with most iPod models.
For the Acoustic Wave®connect kit to work as expected, your iPod must have
the latest version of iPod software installed. If you need to upgrade, simply visit
the Apple iPod website and follow the instructions there.

USING YOUR ACOUSTIC WAVE®CONNECT KIT
Recommended placement
We recommend that you place the dock to the right of your Acoustic Wave®
music system II so that your iPod has minimal effect on FM or AM reception.

Be sure the IR sensor on the front of the iPod dock is visible and aligned with
the Acoustic Wave system IR sensor so both products respond to the remote.
Connecting the dock
Please be sure to make all other connections before plugging these products into
a power outlet.
Connect the dock to the Acoustic Wave music system II (as shown below) or to
the Acoustic Wave Music system with CD changer (as shown on page 5).

Connecting the dock to power
1. Connect the free end of the power pack cable to the dock.

Control of your iPod and Acoustic Wave®II system
We recommend replacing the remote that came with your Acoustic Wave®II
system with this new remote (shown below). Then you can use the new remote
exclusively (not the buttons on your Acoustic Wave®II system), to keep your iPod
and system performing together as intended.
Note: The remote that came with your Acoustic Wave®system can also be used to
control the iPod kit. Use the AUX button on the original remote instead of the iPod
button on the new remote.
Most of the remote control buttons are described in your Acoustic Wave®II
system owner’s guide. The remote buttons below provide added features.
AUX 1-2
• Selects the iPod connected
to AUX IN on the system.
• Switches between AUX 1
and 2 on the CD changer.

for more information.

Turns off iPod.
Seek/Track

The response to some remote commands depends on which source (FM/AM/
CD/iPod/AUX) is playing. If the remote does not work as you expect, press the
button for that source to reset the intended mode of operation.
For use with the CD changer
To hear your iPod play, you may need to press the AUX 1-2 button to select the
input used to connect the dock. The selected input appears on the CD changer
display.

Docking your iPod
Insert your iPod firmly into the dock and make sure it is securely seated in the
dock adapter. Your iPod turns on in a paused state and begins charging, as
needed. Even if the paused iPod turns off automatically, it continues to charge.
If you prefer, you can replace this dock adapter with the
adapter specifically designed for and provided with your
iPod. Use a fingernail or a slender tool carefully to pry the
adapter free, as shown.
Playing your music
Be sure to aim the remote so its infrared (IR) signals reach the sensor on the front
of the dock. Then use these buttons as follows:
• Press iPod to turn on your system and begin iPod playback.
• Press Play/Pause to pause or resume iPod play.
• Press Tune/Playlist to move from one playlist to another.
• Press Play to hear that list play.
• Press Seek/Track once to skip back or ahead one track.
• Press and hold Seek/Track to scan through a track.
•PressVolume to adjust the sound volume.
Your Acoustic Wave®system is designed to work with an
iPod set at full volume.
Volume adjustments can be made using the new remote,
instead of using the iPod control.
Note: Volume changes using the iPod controls will not affect
the Acoustic Wave system volume.
• Press On-Off once to turn off both products, aiming the
remote at the dock until the iPod turns off.
• Press any source button (FM-AM or CD) to turn off the iPod
and listen to that source.
Important note: Having your iPod turned off helps prevent interference when
you switch to an FM or AM station.

Connect the headphones to the mini jack on the

This silences the system so the sound plays through
the headphones only.

If your iPod has four buttons above the touch wheel, it is not compatible
with this Acoustic Wave connect kit.

Battery replacement
To replace the remote control battery, use a Duracell, Eveready, Energizer, Maxell,
Toshiba, or Shun Wo CR2032 or DL2032, 3-volt lithium battery. Be sure to match
the + polarity on the battery to the + symbol inside the battery tray. Refer to your
Bose®system owner’s guide for further information.

the owner’s guide for the Acoustic Wave®music system II.

Bedienung von iPod und Acoustic Wave®II-System
Es wird empfohlen, die Fernbedienung, die Sie mit dem Acoustic Wave®II-
System erhalten haben, durch die neue Fernbedienung (unten abgebildet) zu
ersetzen. Verwenden Sie dann ausschließlich die neue Fernbedienung (nicht die
Tasten am Acoustic Wave®II-System), damit der iPod und das System wie
erwartet zusammen funktionieren.
Hinweis: Mit der Fernbedienung des Acoustic Wave®-Systems können Sie auch
das iPod-Kit bedienen. Verwenden Sie die AUX-Taste der Originalfernbedienung
anstelle der iPod-Taste auf der neuen Fernbedienung.
Die meisten Tasten der Fernbedienung werden in der Bedienungsanleitung des

Bei Verwendung mit dem CD-Wechsler
Um die Wiedergabe vom iPod zu hören, müssen Sie ggf. die Taste AUX 1-2
drücken, um den an das Dock angeschlossenen Eingang auszuwählen. Der
ausgewählte Eingang wird auf dem Display des CD-Wechslers angezeigt.

iPod andocken
Setzen Sie den iPod fest in das Dock und achten Sie darauf, dass er fest im
Dockadapter sitzt. Der iPod wird im Pause-Status eingeschaltet und ggf.
aufgeladen. Auch wenn der iPod im Pause-Status automatisch ausgeschaltet
wird, wird er weiterhin aufgeladen.
Sie können diesen Dockadapter durch den Adapter
ersetzen, der speziell für Ihren iPod entwickelt und mit
diesem geliefert wurde. Lösen Sie den Adapter mit einem
Fingernagel oder einem dünnen Gegenstand wie abgebildet.
Musik abspielen
Halten Sie die Fernbedienung so, dass die Infrarotsignale den Infrarotempfänger
vorne am Dock erreichen können. Verwenden Sie dann diese Tasten wie
beschrieben:
• Drücken Sie iPod, um das System einzuschalten und die

• Drücken Sie Play/Pause, um die Wiedergabe vom iPod zu
unterbrechen bzw. fortzusetzen.
• Drücken Sie Tune/Playlist, um von einer Titelliste zu einer
anderen zu wechseln.
• Drücken Sie Play, um diese Titelliste abzuspielen.
• Drücken Sie ein Mal Seek/Track, um einen Track vor- oder
zurückzugehen.
• Halten Sie Seek/Track gedrückt, um den Schnelllauf durch
einen Titel zu aktivieren.
• Drücken Sie Volume, um die Lautstärke zu regeln.
Das Acoustic Wave®-System wurde für den Betrieb mit
einem iPod entwickelt, der auf volle Lautstärke gestellt ist.
Sie können die Lautstärke mit der neuen Fernbedienung
anstelle der iPod-Steuerung einstellen.
Hinweis: Wenn Sie die Lautstärke am iPod ändern, hat dies
keine Auswirkungen auf die Lautstärke des Acoustic Wave-
Systems.
• Drücken Sie ein Mal On-Off, um beide Geräte
auszuschalten. Halten Sie die Fernbedienung dabei auf das
Dock gerichtet, bis der iPod ausgeschaltet ist.
• Drücken Sie eine beliebige Taste für eine andere Quelle
(FM-AM oder CD), um den iPod auszuschalten und Musik
von der gewählten Quelle zu hören.
Wichtiger Hinweis: Wenn Sie zu einem UKW- oder MW-Sender wechseln,
sollten Sie den iPod ausschalten, um Störungen beim Empfang zu vermeiden.

Stellen Sie mithilfe der neuen
Fernbedienung (Volume) die gewünschte
Lautstärke für die einzelnen Titel ein.
Die Aufnahmequalität der Lieder variiert und
führt zu ungleichmäßiger Lautstärke.
Der iPod ist an den CD-
Wechsler
angeschlossen und
eingeschaltet, trotzdem
erfolgt keine
Wiedergabe.
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass das Audiokabel
vom Dock an die Buchse INPUT AUX 1 am
CD-Wechsler angeschlossen ist.
Drücken Sie iPodund vergewissern Sie
sich, dass AUX 1 auf der Anzeige des
CD-Wechslers angezeigt wird.
Möglicherweise müssen Sie dann
Play/Pause drücken.
Die Lautsprecher des
Bose®-Systems geben
Töne aus, selbst wenn
ein Kopfhörer an den
angedockten iPod
angeschlossen ist.
Schließen Sie den Kopfhörer an die Minibuchse am
Acoustic Wave®-System an.
Dadurch wird das System stummgeschaltet und die
Ausgabe erfolgt nur über den Kopfhörer.
